Bill (kernos) | 117 comments What I would like is a site where you could input your favorite authors or series and you'd get emailed updates whenever a new book was published. Personally, I think Amazon should do this.

How do your keep up with your favorite authors and series?

Greyweather Pretty much every sci-fi and fantasy author seems to have their own blog these days, so if I want to stay on top of what a specific author is doing that is how I go about it.

If I just want to stay on top of the overall zeitgeist, I just hang around the "Liturature" forum at http://asoiaf.westeros.org/

Bill (kernos) | 117 comments Yeh, that's what I do now, but it is not very efficient, especially since I am on dialup.

I am hoping I am missing something on Amazon. I get emails of new DVD and Blu-Ray releases from them. Of course there are many more books, so it would not be practical unless limited in some way by users.

LaTrica Amazon used to do this. I remember being able to ask for updates on my favorite authors and getting emails.

Right now I just look up my favorite authors on Amazon or Fantastic Fiction.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) If you become a fan of an author here on GR, you get links to their blogs & updates on their writing progress.

Libby | 6 comments I think some publishers have a sign up for author updates that will announce new works. For example, Harper Collins has Author Tracker -

Janny (jannywurts) | 7 comments A lovely site for fantasy, very complete, showing current and forthcoming titles:

Schnaucl | 2 comments I follow some authors on goodreads or livejournal. I've also set up a google calendar for new releases. I looked up a bunch of authors at the end of last year and put in the release date for the next book in any series I'm following (when I pick up a new series in the course of the year I check for the date of the next book after I finish the latest book in the series).

Sometimes I see what Amazon recommends and that will let me know about a book I was unaware of.

Other books are mentioned by friends or in a goodreads discussion or are added to someone's TBR shelf on goodreads.

Jason Bright (jasonbright000) | 1 comments I learn about new books by friends... we all usually have the same taste in authors. So word gets around to one of use eventually.

Carolyn (seeford) I stop in and visit the home page of Fantastic Fiction. The entire page is new releases, listed by author & grouped by genre, and a column on the right side of the page lists 'coming soon' releases by date. You can sort them by HC, pb or audio.

If I'm looking for something by a specific author, I just go to that author's page on FF.
