I apologize if you already know this, but you can search most or all of the discussions through google or other search engines by adding "site:goodreads.com/topic" (without the quotations) to your search terms.I found one giant Sherlock Discussion, but I have no idea if it's the one you're looking for:

I'm looking for that one huge discussion of Sherlock Holmes--the one which crops up every once in a while--but because the fool who started it simply placed it at random somewhere, with a chat about 'Which actor is your favorite?' its nigh impossible to find. How can one identify which book by Conan Doyle that chat is tied to?
