Description:
Charmingly illustrated and refreshingly spare, Plain and Simple speaks to the seeker in each of us.
"I had an obsession with the Amish. Plan and simple. Objectively it made no sense. I, who worked hard at being special, fell in love with a people who valued being ordinary." So begins Sue Bender's story, the captivating and inspiring true story of a harried urban Californian moved by the beauty of a display of quilts to seek out and live with the Amish. Discovering lives shaped by unfamiliar yet comforting ideas about time, work, and community, Bender is gently coaxed to consider, "Is there another way to lead a good life?"
Her journey begins in a New York men's clothing store. There she is spellbound by the vibrant colors and stunning geometric simplicity of the Amish quilts "spoke directly to me," writes Bender. Somehow, "they went straight to my heart."
Heeding a persistent inner voice, Bender searches for Amish families willing to allow her to visit and share in there daily lives. Plain and Simple vividly recounts sojourns with two Amish families, visits during which Bender enters a world without television, telephone, electric light, or refrigerators; a world where clutter and hurry are replaced with inner quiet and calm ritual; a world where a sunny kitchen "glows" and "no distinction was made between the sacred and the everyday."
In nine interrelated chapters--as simple and elegant as a classic nine-patch Amish quilt--Bender shares the quiet power she found reflected in lives of joyful simplicity, humanity, and clarity. The fast-paced, opinionated, often frazzled Bender returns home and reworks her "crazy-quilt" life, integrating the soul-soothing qualities she has observed in the Amish, and celebrating the patterns in the Amish, and celebrating the patterns formed by the distinctive "patches" of her own life.

Description:
"Take an established quilt pattern and add a touch of your own to make it unique!" www.sharyncraig.com
When Sharyn walked into the door of her first quilting class in the fall of 1978, she had no idea how that simple action would change the rest of her life. She had always loved to sew and do crafts. In fact, she had been a Home Economics major in college, graduating with a degree in Clothing and Textiles. Just attending one quilting class made it clear what all that training had been leading up to. Today she teaches, lectures, and writes about her passion, quiltmaking, and has authored twelve previous books. She has also been a regular contributor to Traditional Quiltworks magazine, having originated the Design Challenge column.

Also, the metadata description needs to be updated to the official blurb, and this book was officially published in 2014, not 2012, by White Meadow Books.
Official blurb:
----
...Evelyn was so excited! Her mother was taking her to see her father at work. Today was her birthday and she was five years old. It was because she was such a big girl that she was being allowed to go there.
“Mommy, will we have cake and ice cream too? I promise not to get anything on my new dress!” She looked down at the puffy pleats and patted them proudly. This was the prettiest dress she had ever had and she just loved it.
Her mother, Luwanda Jefferson, looked to be a little distracted and had a worried frown on her face. “What did you say sweetheart?”
“I love my new dress! I think I might be a princess.” Evelyn patted her dress again. Looking out the window, she saw a huge iron fence. It was as high as a house and for some reason, made her feel sad. Beyond the fence, she could see what looked like a large park with beautiful green lawns.
“Evelyn, this is where Daddy works. Do you remember when we brought you here last year?” She was driving up to the entrance gate and her worried look seemed to intensify.
Evelyn said no, but she did feel something, something that made her uncomfortable and maybe a little frightened. Her happy mood continued to deteriorate as she went through the process of entering the complex. When she had to leave her mother outside a series of white rooms, she finally remembered why she did not like being at her father’s workplace...
There is a time when all answers converge into one incredible question: Why? Evelyn Jefferson's physical and mental abilities are beyond dispute - she is perfect. If a term were applied to her, "prodigy" would come close, but not close enough. Her 17 year old perfect complexion is seemingly untouched by sun or wind, she has a gorgeous 100% symmetrical body, and her personality is etched in gentleness and compassion - so, why the question? With so much perfection, why does she feel like a freak? Why is she treated like a wall flower? Why can't she get just one single date?
She saw this moment coming. There had been plenty of markers along the way. How many times had she been the first, the fastest, the smartest, and all the other reasons she should have been singled out for something... anything? However, never her, never Evelyn, she was forever being overlooked. No one could have been more patient, and this was no uninformed opinion shrouded by conceit. Intelligence was her strong suit and she was bright enough to know something was not right in her life. She had been patient long enough, especially since Michael had been transferred to Donald Senior High. He was incredible! Greek statues hid from his presence, and if anyone was his match, it had to be her. However, she had targeted him all week to no avail. He acted like she didn't exist and she'd had just about enough of it.
As she prepared for bed, she made her decision. She would formulate her game plan with the only expert in her life, her mother. Tomorrow, she would find out how to carve a heart into his statue. Tomorrow would be the beginning of a romance that would last forever!
But sometimes, the answer to that great question, "Why", is not the one we are seeking. Evelyn can't even comprehend that tomorrow will be the end of everything she understands, forever.

#188 is this (The Very Thought of Him) the new edition you want the cover adding to?
Yes, please. (I've taken down the old cover already on GR, as you can see. Hope that won't complicate things? :/)

Thank you for your help.

I notice that you don't yet have a GR author profile. You can request that here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/conf....
If not all those books there are yours, you might want to request a disambiguated profile (one where you can have just your books on it).

Hi Jessa,
Goodreads policy is to keep all covers, even those that are no longer available or out of print. Instead, we create alternate cover editions (ACEs), and you as the author have the ability to set the new cover as the default edition. I have created ACEs for the ebook and kindle editions here:
