oh poo ☹ I'm switching back and forth between 2 really average books. i think i'd really hate them if i tried to read them all the way through. can't wait for them to be over!

(shiver series by Maggie Stiefvater)

I hate Grace and Sam I'm more interested in Isabel and Cole
You knew when a book is bad when the author doesn't know the balance of description and talking. I can barely read Maria V. Snyder books because of this, but I'm willing to give her shadow study a chance. If she still has this problem, I'm done with her.

The fourth book is purely about Cole if I remember correctly, but it was the worst of the series.

I have that problem with a few authors. It makes their books hard to get through.

If alcohol is the go-to substance to make you forget about your sorrow and worries, then this thread is my go-to page to distract me up from a bad book. Honestly, reading this is so much more entertaining than reading that book.
I agree with all the posts above! Especially about the main girls and her issues with "hot" guys. Nothing is so vexing than having the author build up this image of a strong, bad-ass female lead only to see her goggling and having difficulty breathing before a sack of muscles w/ a handsome face - or even better- a pair of "beautiful eyes" that is "out of this world." - ___ - seriously.

The Woman Who Walked Into Doors by Roddy Doyle

never heard of it!

I never had either until I read a quote by J.K. Rowling praising it. I love J.K. Rowling but she and I have different opinions on this book.

Haha, yep. I've done this. I've lost sleep for this.
...when you have to spend so much time mentally correcting the grammar, spelling, punctuation, word choices and sentence structure that you can't keep track of the story line.

Yeah I and I really wanted to like it and there's so much hype around it and such.

This is Where It Ends. I love the topic about the book and how there could be so many different possibilities.
Ugh, I wasn't a fan of that one either. It was a bit insensitive of the fact that real school shootings happen in real life.
