Barb (bubasbookshelf) You know a bok is bad when you spend more time just looking at it instead of reading it.

That sounds like me with finding paris! what book are you reading?

message 359: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments The Girl You Left Behind. It's not that it's really bad, it's more that nothing happens :|

message 360: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I might even be getting into a reading slump because of it...

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
That's not good! I get really annoyed when nothing happens! Just imagine, you could write whatever you wanted, you're god of your own creation as a writer, and then they write stuff where nothing happens! what a waste!

message 362: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Haha that's so right! Haven't thought of it like that before, but yes!!!

message 363: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (scookie) | 84 comments You know a book is bad when you write a review too snarky to post...

I've had to tone my review of Lost and Found down a bit, but (if anyone happens to read it) let me know if I come across a bit too mean!

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I sometimes write reviews that are less than diplomatic. Sometimes it just all comes out and there's nothing you can do to stop it.

message 365: by Wy'Kia (new)

Wy'Kia You know a book is bad when...

You force yourself to endure reading it for a week and you're only halfway through before you have a raging epiphany that you can't finish the book and you quit never looking back.

message 366: by Tati (new)

Tati you'd rather write your own bad story than keep reading it

Yep, I sometimes think I could make some books a whole lot less boring by re-writing them! (I'm most likely deluded, but it would be satisfying to have aliens land and shoot all the annoying characters in the head)

Denia Books & Baubles (deniareads) | 10 comments You know what is going to happen before you read it..

that's bad! I feel like strangling a couple of characters right now.

message 376: by Maya (new)

Maya White | 269 comments It's horrible! I feel like there has to be characters in every book that you wanna strangle. I wish there weren't though!

message 386: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 08, 2015 06:25AM) (new)

You know a SERIES is bad when the first three books are amazing, the series ends well...then the author writes more books for money and they sound like they're about romance when the original/good books were fantasy with romance on the side. T_________T

In other words, if you read Witch & Wizard, stop after The Fire (book 3)...

message 387: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
Ah yes, the pretty little liars series went like that. the first few were good, but after a while they became more and more ridiculous.

message 388: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (scookie) | 84 comments A Series of Unfortunate Events was only worth reading up to around book 3. I think he only made 13 to fit in with the theme.

message 389: by Eva (new)

Eva (evam00) You know a book is bad when you start to skim read, and then just feel like reading the ending because the stuff in between isn't worth it.

That's always so painful, and you feel like it could anytime in the next 100 or so pages.

message 393: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Well... I feel like it never even started? And I'm 250 pages in. Sigh! :)

Yeah, that really sucks :(

message 395: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments Yeah.. But I'll probably finish it anyway, it's an easy read after all

message 396: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
I'm just about managing to get through an iffy one by reading a couple of chapters and then switching to something else. it's not quite so painful that way, but I'd still like to be done already!

message 397: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I've reached the point where I kind of hope the characters will commit suicide...
