I read the first one back when Vaginal Fantasy read it. I'm curious to see what book 4 is like.

yeah, it was last month, on Magic Bites. They were really drunk doing it and had a lot of tech problems. The 28th is their next book discussion.

I will, Steven! I'm quickly becoming a HUGE fan as well. Have you read The Edge series also by Ilona Andrews? Who's Harry Dresden? Is he as awesome as Kate and Mercy???
I'm reading the last Edge book now... And Harry Dresden is amazing!!!! 15 books, starts with Storm Front, by Jim Butcher. Wizard for hire, great recurring cast! One of my top favorite series :)

I agree completely about Saiman, Becky! I was starting to like him in the last book. I forgot about a couple challenge books I have to squeeze in before I can get to the rest of this and the Mercy Thompson series, but it's going to happen. And I'm definitely checking out Harry Dresden now. :P
Katie...I can probably fit in the next KD book next weekend. Just give me a shout if you want to read it. I'm eager to get back to World of the Lupi, too.

Agreed Becky. Kate & Curran are the perfect mix. Kate is so spunky but also has a heart of gold.

Be fair warned about the Elemental Assassin series. It gets great ratings, but I had to walk away after something like the 3rd or 4th book.
She had to be the most incompetent assassin in the history of assassins. It drove me crazy!

ah yes, I forgot about that too. I will have to re-read this series at some point because I think there is so much that I have forgotten already. I loved the dinner scene at the start of this one and also learning much more about Kate's background (view spoiler)

What is a Buddy Read?
Book synposis
Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose.
Kate Daniels works for the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle---especially if they involve Atlanta's shapeshifting community.
When she's called in to investigate a fight at the Steel Horse, a bar on the border between the territories of the shapeshifters and the necromancers, Kate quickly discovers that there's a new player in town. One who's been around for thousands of years---and who rode to war at the side of Kate's father.
This foe may be too much even for Kate and Curran, the Beast Lord, to handle. Because this time Kate will be taking on family.
