Sheri, sorry your husband is working. Pizza interesting choice last year for Thanksgiving.
Alyssia, grandparents are fun. I am glad you get to spent time with them.
I am enjoying this series too. She has another series that. Is good. The Guild Hunter series. It has angels and vampires in it. The angels are yummy!
Nobody answered my question....who was the evil mind controlling Amara? Ming? Henry?

Is anyone going to see Catching Fire this weekend? My niece is driving me and Hannah to the movie Saturday. I can't wait! It looks so good!

And certainly it seems as though Kaleb is involved (in a helping capacity). Henry is aware of the dark mind though. I don't know if we have had that confirmation about other council members (other than kaleb). My phone keeps typing it kraken. Lol. :)
I wouldn't mind him "kraken ing" me. :D

Ok. When Amara was brought over to Dorian's Net through Ashayna that dark mind stopped influencing her.

But now there is darkness in the Web of Stars. And in order to not split their own Netmind, they have to leave it.

They send Amara away, right? I think, that the distance helps maintain the sanctity of the Web of Stars as well as help Amara change her dark habits. She was always so dependent on Ashaya, and now, staying away from her twin, Amara has to work that much harder to be trusted and be a close-knit family with Ashaya. This is what I figured out from what I do remember of this book.
I have to admit that even though these books are pretty predictable in their outcome, I'm enjoying the author's writing. With each new book she's adding more layers and it is getting pretty complex.
I am enjoying it too. Maybe we can read her other series,Guild Hunter? It has angels and vampires in it. The angels are yummy! I have read the first three and I like them.

lol! and as a super powerful telekenetic, he totes could. i um.. i'm gonna be in my bunk :P

speaking of, I am shipping Nikita and Anthony so hard :D

And the Dark mind was born from the psy repressing all their dark impulses, but on the Web of Stars, nobody's repressing those. well, not like the psy did with Silence, so the sentience of the Web of Stars is unlikly to develop a Dark Mind of it's own to work it's bad juju on the pack.

Sorry for the post wall i'm creating, but I agree. she is pretty predictable, so I think that's why she tries to hide things from us, like the idetnity of the Ghost and what Sierra's dangerous psy ability is.
From other forums about the books, she's said that the series is plotted out well in advance, and she knwos how the plot will progress. I'm a big fan of authors who do that instead of writing series as they go.

I'm up for it.

Yeah, the world-building is awesome and there are some unique ideas, even if the "end" is always really obvious.
Hey, is anyone else the least bit curious about the "rats?" Or is it just me? I don't think they've been brought up in conversation before.

not enough aquatic shifter imo. maybe there's a for realz kraken :3
I want a wolf/aquatic shifter pair!!

That would be an interesting mix.

Wild Invitation has 4 of them i think. the Nate/Tasmyn prequel and some others. The others happen further on in the series though. but I think worth picking up.
She also has some short stories up on her website to read for free

I have read two so far, and I liked them.
The Tamsyn/Nate one was especially interesting because I didn't see their "conflict" coming. They are so very at peace with each other in the "modern day" plot line, so it was nice to go back to roots.

Also I love the Guild Hunter series!! Raphael is one of my favourite heroes.

I wasn't sure where to put this since we don't have an official thread going right now :)
