Rita (anarittafp) Paige, I completely agree with you about City of Bones! But if I didn't want to know why there was so much hype about these books I would never have read City of Glass and I love it, so there's always that xD

I know, though the TMI hype got me reading TID first (because it is a complete series, I have a habit to prefer reading the completed series first), and then I fell in love with the author. else, seriously, I can get through first two book of TMI at all. the movie helps though, Jamie and Lily did well.

The Darkest Minds

message 104: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree
matched, divergent,beautiful creatures,fallen, all overhyped.
also would like to add hush hush. not that good either.
they werent awful just not as good as I expected them to be.
divergent, it wasent bad but it just never got my 100 % attention and love.

message 105: by Misfit (new)

Misfit I agree with Faye. Also, The Fifth Wave.

message 106: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) Fallen and Hush Hush, I'm sorry but stalking someone is never romantic its creepy.

message 107: by Connie (new)

Connie (proseandconnie) | 1027 comments Beautiful Creatures, as many others have said. I just did not enjoy the series :/
Matched was okay, but the next two books were just...

message 108: by Riya (new)

Riya The Knife of Never Letting Go and Matched were definitely hyped up too much. And The Body Finder- HATE that book!!! :P
Also the Iron Fey series sucked...and a few others that I can't remember!

message 109: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sporgsel) | 2 comments The coldest girl in Coldtown

I heard about the hype, gave in and it was horrible.

message 110: by CourtLovesBooks (new)

CourtLovesBooks Divergent. The first book was good but I hated what I read of Insurgent. The Characters just start acting so stupid.

message 111: by Riya (new)

Riya Before I Fall. I really hated Samantha...

message 112: by Roxana (new)

Roxana Acosta (soloroxana) | 107 comments Ignite Me, I didn't like it.. I really wanted a war.. and there was so much drama with Adam and stuff..

Shadowhunter's Library (shadowhunters-library) | 132 comments I don't know if this is overhyped, but I'm saying Gone by Michael Grant. I just did not like this book. It was really really boring, and I found the supernatural aspect to be pointless.

message 114: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (ifangirlaboutbooks) | 216 comments Yeah I liked it when I was 14 but yeah it's not that good!

Yes! The first book was great and the others were just screwed up.

message 116: by Naban (last edited Jun 14, 2014 01:02AM) (new)

Naban (snoupysoup) The Selection. I found it to be horrible and lacking in many aspects that a good overhyped but should be made of. The main character was annoying, along with the love interests and the plot.

WE WERE LIARS. SO OVERHYPED.

Dang it- I really wanted to read that!

message 119: by CourtLovesBooks (new)

CourtLovesBooks The Coldest Girl in Coldtown grrrr! This book! Angry feels!

Aww I wanted to read that :/

message 121: by CourtLovesBooks (new)

CourtLovesBooks It's okay but it's slow and I HATE the ending. I gave it three stars cause it does have good points

message 122: by Sandee is Reading (new)

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) I would have to go with The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken and Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell .

I suck. I know.

message 123: by Christina (new)

Christina (thereadingqueen) | 11 comments I would have to say Half Bad. I picked it up at the library because of the hype and read almost to the end and there was a huge lack of magic even though it's about witches. Never again.

message 124: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 95 comments I think Shatter Me is over-hyped. I mean, I liked it, but I thought it would have been better. Also, Gone is over-hyped. I really didn't like it; So hard to get through.

message 125: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) i tried to read Gone but couldn't get past the first page.

message 126: by Juliet (new)

Juliet | 345 comments All of you guys are making me so mad! xD but, it's all about matter of opinion and taste. Personally, I thought City of Bones was a bit of a let-down. I had high hopes because everyone was practically shoving the book in my face! Also I was a little confused about the ending. BUT I did not hate it. I found it hilarious and when (view spoiler) Also! I loved City of Ashes! Way better than the first book I think. And I've heard City of Glass is even better. It grew on me.

message 127: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina (forebodinq) I think it is definitely about different people's tastes.
For example, I didn't really enjoy The Knife of Never Letting Go, but I can appreciate it and understand how some people can love it - it just wasn't to my taste and disturbed me a little too much :P

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green *chants* overhyped, overhyped, overhyped

message 129: by Tayla (new)

Tayla Potayta (taylapotayta) I dont think anything is overhyped. I usually read a book before it is a movie and I looove when it gets hyped up! Then I can get merch <3

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 354 comments Tayla wrote: "I dont think anything is overhyped. I usually read a book before it is a movie and I looove when it gets hyped up! Then I can get merch <3"

Perfect response. If something is hyped, it's because a lot of people love it. To me, that's always a good thing, even if I don't like the book personally.

message 131: by Abby (new)

Abby (valleysmelody123) | 223 comments Definitely Mortal Instruments and Divergent. :/

message 132: by [deleted user] (new)
