1. Divergent. The first book was good but the other 2 were awful2. Twilight. Its really just a Bella whine fest.
3. Eve. Didn't even bother with the second book. Eve was the worst book I have read in a long time.
The Twilight series and Beautiful Creatures. Both times the main charecters( Bella and Ethan) were really whiny, kind of pathetic and really boring and frankly Bella is really selfish and self-centred. A lot of people are starting to dislike Twilight but I can't understand why it was popular in the first place, it's actually hard for me to come up with a positive for Twilight.
Divergent. Just the summary of it is enough for me to avoid reading it. The story is just lame,so was the ending and I don't know why everyone is in love with it (well, until the last book anyway) And Twilight of course, almost every person in my class is obsessed with it and they were so freaking surprised when I told them I absolutely hate everything about it. *rolls eyes*
And although The Fault in Our Stars is a great book, there are a lot of books that are way better than it. The story was beautiful and irrelevent at the same time (I did cry at the end though), and the writing was pure trash.
shatter me: not worth the hype. not original story. whiny characters. bad writing. uninteresting. plain.lux series: no story. under developed characters. over used romance. slow moving and pathetic.
mortal instruments: bad characters, horrible romance.
TFIOS: realistic but crappy plot.
I'm afraid to say Divergent. Personally, I thought it was a really good book, great even. But not on par with Harry Potter or the Hunger games, in my opinion.
I completely agree with you. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Divergent but people act like it's as good as Hunger Games or Harry Potter (like you said) and I don't think it's as phenomenal as those two series.
Everyone kept telling me to read
I don't know if its overly hyped but a lot of people kept recommending it for me, and it was terrible! Also
wasn't that great for me, everyone keeps telling me to give it another try.

I know it was a great series, but it was just too depressing for me and I never was really invested in the romance. Divergent was sad (like all dystopians), but I loved the romance and the characters so much that it didn't bother me!!
I definitely agree that Divergent isn't anywhere close to being as good as Harry Potter! They are two very different books, but overall I will always pick Harry Potter :-p
Yeah I don't see the HP and Divergent are neck and neck. HP wins over all fandoms! I mean seriously, no one can argue that ANY series is as well thought out and imagined as J.K. Rowling. She made up her own spells and a whole new world!! Not just changing the setting, she literally made a new world, a wizarding world.
Delirium, Allegiant and Insurgent (both were awful), The Selection, The 5th Wave, All Our Yesterdays, The Iron Fey series, Shatter Me
How can you like Insurgent!?!!?!?!? Its one of the most boring books I have ever read in my life and nothing happens in it! Its 500 pages of nothing.
No, what happened was Tris and four fight, tris and four make out, tris and four fight, tris and four make out, tris comes up with some idiotic plans to get everyone killed except herself, tris and four make out
what about when they were running from the Erudite at Amity? Or when everyone was knocked out during the Erudite invasion of Candor? What about when they interrogated them? What about when they were at the negotiation with Max and the Candor Guy? Or how about when they escaped from Jeanine and the Erudites when Tris was about to be killed? Or when Tris fought her way back in to get the data from the Erudite computer? And when she had to go through that simulation to get to the lab room?

Sure Insurgent DID have a lot of action in it, but I also personally found it to be really boring (it's actually my least favorite in the trilogy)

I will never understand how the Harry Potter movies never seemed to have a problem explaining the world (spells, "rules", etc.) and that is what makes them even more awesome lol!!
I know right?? They weren't confusing. Divergent movie was a bit harder to tell and explain. They even needed the cheesy voice over in the beginning to help the movie along the way...
I think the difference is that we were learning about the wizarding world along with Harry, whilst Tris has lived in the Divergent world her whole life and already knows how it works (well, the basics at least).
Miss Perfection (Rachel) wrote: "I know right?? They weren't confusing. Divergent movie was a bit harder to tell and explain. They even needed the cheesy voice over in the beginning to help the movie along the way..."Blame Twilight for annoying/cheesy voice overs
Everyone makes fun twilight, yet twilight got a lot of people into reading. I'll admit, the movies weren't the greatest. But I did enjoy them
Kitty wrote: "Everyone hates twilight, yet twilight got a lot of people into reading. I'll admit, the movies weren't the greatest. But I did enjoy them. No Hate on Twilight:)"I'm not hating on Twilight, it's true that they got a lot of people in to reading and that can only ever be a good thing but it is also true that these adaption voice overs largely stem from Twilight
Personally, I never read Twilight. I probably would have someday, but society's view on this series has made me not want to read it.
I think Starcrossed and Unearthly are overhyped. Also: All Our Yesterdays, The 5th Wave, Delirium, The Selection
Really? I really dont want to risk reading them, yet it feels like im missing out on something in the "addicted to reading" thing, but is it worth all the brain space?

Sorry, I didn't mean to use the word "hate".
I'm going at have to add TFioS, even though it's good it's way over hyped. Looking for Alaska which was just terrible. And The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer.
I didn't like Looking for Alaska, but I guess I did understand all the hype around it because I could see why people would love it, and I appreciated the message of the story.
I thought looking for Alaska was okay. Had an interesting story that made me want to know what happens til the end ...but still not sure what the message of the book is about.
Maybe I should rephrase "message of the story". It was more that it made me think. Particularly about what was needed to get out of the "labyrinth of suffering".

Delirium, I hate open endings and cliffhangers.I also didn't like Divergent as much as others, probably because I hated Four and the couple Fourtris.
And The Selection was mweh, and also The Fifth Wave... I only knew who the characters were in the middle of the book.
Yeah, you're not the only one who didn't like Divergent as much as everyone else. The couple Four and Tris felt kind of forced together. The plot of the story is good but the writing wasn't, well for me.
