message 15: by Yara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Yara When I read Fangirl I got the impression that Simon Snow was basically a Harry Potter parody, but when you mentioned Harry Potter in the book I was thrown off. What does Harry Potter mean to them? It's seems so similar to Simon Snow.

message 20: by Shane (new)

Shane Morales Honestly, Eleanor and Park was my first ever read that has a sad ending but because of that book I discovered within myself that I'm a sucker for sad endings. Who doesn't right? I want to ask if there will be a sequel? If no, can I plead to you to please write a sequel for Eleanor and Park? Thank you!

message 21: by Lily (new) - rated it 2 stars

Lily Please tell me you fangirled when writing your books. Do you read fanfics? Did you fall in love with Park and Levi? Is 3rd person easier than 1st person for you? Did you feel nostalgic when writing Eleanor & Park? I'm being serious here, can I call you my friend because nobody understands books and music like you do.

message 22: by Cath (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cath Will you continue Fangirl? I would love to see what happens to Cath and Levi and others after Simon Snow is over. And What kind Of Fan Fiction do you read? - Cath ( Yes that is my name)

Alice If you do fangirl over anything, what is it?
All of your books seem to start with something like music or another book--why is that?
What is your opinion on fan fiction?

message 24: by Michael (last edited Nov 21, 2013 10:08AM) (new)

Michael I'm a writer and was/am knocked out by your characters in ELEANOR AND PARK. I'm reading it for the 3rd time!

Question: How did you manage to give the reader the incredible sense of increasing emotional connection between Eleanor and Park. Such as the "Eleanor disintegrated" line.

message 25: by Kim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kim M. I'm not sure with my guess on the last part of Eleanor & Park so i'd really like to know what did eleanor wrote on the post card he sent to park and did they get far? :)

Shaylee Any new books or book ideas we should get excited about? Who Is your favorite author? Who/What inspired you to write?

Ciera Moore I loved Fangirl so much and I was wondering if you would ever actually consider writing the Simon Snow series because the little snippets you put in really interested me. I want to know as much about those characters as I do about Cath and Levi.

Ciera Moore What three words were on the postcard that Elenor sent Park?

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Since Park is korean, have you ever heard of k-pop or watched a k-drama?

Casey Hi Rainbow Rowell!!! I loved your book and I actually did a book report on it! I also have a few questions. 1: Would you ever write short stories for Simon Snow?
and 2: Did Cath ever reveal her identity? Like when she was talking to one of her readers and she didn't tell her she was Magicath. Did she later on approach her and tell her who she was? (I had a little trouble wording that one so I hope you understood it)

Vicky Rainbow, I'd like to know if you have as big a crush on Park as I do? :) I'm paralyzed by his ninja magic. You?

Thank you for giving your readers Eleanor & Park. It's one of the most memorable books I've read in a very long time.

bipasha What was the hardest part for you to write in Fangirl and why?

\\

I really hope you write a coming of age sorta novel because it would be perfect and adorable in your writing style.Hope you have as much fun writing your next, as all of us have in reading it! thank you. ;)

message 33: by Abby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Abby Where do you come up with all the names? All of them are odd, Cath and Wren, Park, Levi. Do you try to come up with interesting, odd names, or are they just the first ones that come to your head?

message 34: by H (new) - rated it 4 stars

H In fangirl the professor stated that for all good fictional pieces it has to start out with some truth. Do you find that the pieces you write have some of your own life experiences?

message 35: by Gina (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gina Which of your characters do you personally connect with the most?

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Jayla Are you going to write another novel?;because if so I totally want to read it!

message 38: by Nicole (last edited Jun 20, 2014 08:07PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nicole Which main character of yours do you relate the most to?

Do you prefer to write in first person or third person, and which do you prefer to read from?

Will you ever write/ have you considered writing Simon Snow as an actual book series?

Have you ever written fanfiction (besides Simon Snow snippets)?

Did you ever have someone to read over your shoulder and help you with your writing as you went, like Wren did for Cath?

What is something you want readers who relate to your characters to take away from your books?

message 39: by Drew (new) - rated it 5 stars

Drew Did Cath listen to Wren's advice, or did she go ahead and kill off Baz? If she did, how did her readers react to it? Did she even finish Carry On, Simon?

Allie I NOMINATE THIS QUESTION POSTED BY DREW!

"Did Cath listen to Wren's advice, or did she go ahead and kill off Baz? If she did, how did her readers react to it? Did she even finish Carry On, Simon?"

message 41: by gina (new) - rated it 4 stars

gina Eleanor and Park and Fangirl do these storys relate to you what so ever ?

Abbey What was the point of adding the clips of the simon snow readings in the book? Was it supposed to contribute a lession also? And why don't we know what happened to Cath's short story?

Cassandra Thanks so much for giving us the chance to ask you questions! It's so cool to ask someone who's not only a writer, but a fellow fangirl about writing! I'm rereading Eleanor and Park right now, and this is just beyond the awesomeness of awesomesauce.

Will you ever write something with a slash pairing in it?
When will you be writing your next YA novel?
Are any of your books based on life experiences?
How do you come up with your characters?

Thanks!

~Casey
