Darn. I just finished a reread of Dune a few months back. It's a fabulous book. You're gonna love it. I was 18 at my first read and it blew my mind.

message 102: by megan (new)

megan | 1160 comments I'd be up for a buddy read. I guess check out my to-read and compare them with yours?

I haven't started We Were Liars yet, it's been sitting on my shelf (it's an eBook, so it's been sitting on my desktop) for a while now. If you're still interested, I'd love to give it a go.

Ashley Bermudez | 5 comments I really want to participate in a group or buddy read because I want to complete the full summer book bingo challenge. If anyone wants to do a buddy or group read with me, Pls let me know and we can figure out what book we'll read, thanks!

You could also participate in one of the Group Reads if you don't have any takers on a Buddy Read. Just a thought.

Oh, that's a lovely book, Jennah! It has been a while since I've read it so I'd be happy to do a buddy read. You should set the pace, though, since it's a reread for me and I don't want to "spoiler" the story for you.

Tomorrow works for me. I got your email as well and am fine with 3 chapters a day. They are short so it should be no problem. :)

message 110: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 384 comments A Passage to India by E.M Forster. I have wanted to read this for a long time and I missed the chance when it was a group read, those pesky squirrels. Maybe start mid-late September or October.

Renee M | 4789 comments Mod
I just responded to your post in the Passage thread. Feel free to continue the conversation there. :)

I am planning on reading the Purpose Drive Life right before the start of the new year. I am planning on reading one chapter a day starting on November 22 2015. Any one interested?

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments Does anyone want to read Armada by Ernest Cline with me late Nov or early Dec? I loved Ready Player One and have been meaning to give this one a try.

Did you ever do this?

message 115: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
Baseloaded, I've already read it, but will be happy to take part in the discussion once it's been read!

message 116: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 384 comments I never got around to reading A Passage to India. I was thinking about putting it at the top of my books to read list. It was a group read not long ago. The thread might still be open. I am in if someone else wants to join a discussion or buddy read of A Passage to India.

Passage continues to haunt me as well since I haven't gotten back to it. The Group Read thread is still open for anyone who wants to continue the discussion.

I've just picked up Riders of the Purple Sage. I'm trying to get in as many "haunters" as I can before the year runs out.

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments On another thread there was a bit of talk of a buddy read for The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick .

Would anyone like to buddy up and read it with me? I am flexible when it is started so it is up to you. Cheers!

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments Sonya wrote: "I'll do it basesloaded"

Great news Sonya and Holly and hopefully others to come.

Sonya: When would you like to get started? I already have the book so I am ready whenever you want. I will likely read a couple chapters a night.

Holly: Thanks, I appreciate it and I am glad you too are interested. Are you limited to when you can start?

message 122: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
Not really. I have it ready on my kindle to start, so whenever :)

message 123: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 437 comments I have to wait a week or two to get it

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments Sonya wrote: "I have to wait a week or two to get it"

What do you think of Sun. Dec. 6th as a start date?

message 125: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 437 comments Ok

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments Sonya wrote: "Ok"

This will be good for my "fine looking man on the cover" read for a challenge. Bradley Cooper, Mmmmmm!

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments Sonya and Holly are we still a go for Sun Dec 6th? If so please go ahead and set it up Holly.

Is anyone else interested in joining us? You have some time to get your hot hands on the book.

Happy reading!

Not_Your_Typical_Lannister (Leslie) | 151 comments Hi. Feb. 7th Renee M and I intend to buddy up and read Landline. We will be discussing it in quarter chunks. (1st quarter of the book, 2nd quarter of the book., etc.)

Is anyone interested in joining in? We would love to have you.

I'm planning on re-reading the Harry Potter series over this summer, and wondered if anyone wanted to join me for any/all of them?

I'm not sure of my schedule yet, so I'm pretty flexible if anyone does want to join.

message 134: by Veronique (new)

Veronique Gosh - both are tempting. I read Landline not long ago so pretty clear in my head.. As for HP, well, don't really need a reason :O) Let me see...

message 135: by Alessandra (new)

Alessandra (chibisuke) | 266 comments I wanted to re-read the complete HP series for a while now, but never managed to pick up the 4th book. I'd happily join you from that book onward, Holly :D

message 136: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4789 comments Mod
I've read and reread HP series. I'm working through a couple of other series so I'm not sure I can fit it in. But I'll definitely join the conversation.

message 137: by Veronique (new)

Veronique I've lost the amount of times I read HP - each as it came out, and then back to the first one each time - now that I think about it, this is not normal at all :O) Mind you, you're talking to the person who took a day off for each of the LOTR films, and used to read them all at Christmas...

I'm glad to see so much interest!

To be honest, it's a series that can people can also discuss if they're not currently reading it, which is great fun!

Should I set up a thread?

message 141: by Roseanne (new)

Roseanne | 1239 comments I have never read it. When are you starting?

message 142: by Allison, Quest Hound (new)

Allison (rainy-day-reads) | 1296 comments Mod
I'm so tempted to join in. I've never re-read Harry Potter, but have been meaning to for ages. I could possibly be talked into it now, but I might have to drop some other things.

message 143: by Veronique (new)

Veronique To Make Temptation Even Bigger - have look at the newly published book 1 and preview of 2 - illustrated! :O)

message 144: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
I'm planning to start this week!

I was thinking of making it quite a casual thing so people can just go at their own pace and report back whenever.

message 145: by Renee, Mistress of the Mini-Challenge (new)

Renee M | 4789 comments Mod
Are you planning to do a thread for each book?

message 146: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 437 comments I'd like to read the lord of the rings? I read the hobbit when I was 12. Holly you game?

message 147: by Holly, That Geeky One (new)

Holly (hollycoulson) | 1949 comments Mod
I was just going to do a series thread, like what was done for A Song of Ice and Fire, but it depends on what people want!

And Sonya, I would, but I was planning on reading LOTR again over Christmas! + I need to focus on shorter books considering I'm rather behind on my challenge.
