Is this a series?

Since it's a very, VERY popular book, I'd like to be sure in case I delete the "series".
Thanks"
It is allowed to create a series page for a book that is published in multiple volumes (and was originally published in one volume). I can see that this series would follow the same reasoning, a book later published in multiple volumes.
(Probably not all editions are valid editions, but there are valid editions published for every book of the bible.)

only first two maybe, the rest are unconnected"
Google Translate of the description for the Serbian edition says:The first book of the JEZOVNIK library collects Rajson's works from the legendary magazines Creepy and Eerie, which makes it an imprint/collection, and not a series according to GR definition.
I'll check the Serbian editions and move the imprint info to the edition field. The first book also has an URL in the description that needs to be removed. When these editions are cleaned up, I'll delete the series page.
ETA: series deleted.
I wasn't able to find the Serbian edition of book 6. The editions on the series page were the original book. There were comic adaptations separated from the original book, but neither of these did have a Serbian edition.

That's not what I meant. An example would be Anna Karenina published in four volumes, instead of one book. A series page for the four volume editions is allowed.

A line of Fairy Tale retellings with no shared characters or worlds.

This is not a series. Do you wan't to do the deletion yourself?

Not a series and should have '(Great Illustrated Classics)' from the title line

They are all Gothics, all set in England (but different locations) no shared characters as far as I know & at the bottom of each book description it says they can be read as standalones.

Yes if you remove the first book see 664/665"
Ok, I've never been a fan of this method (not counting the fact that very often various volumes 1, 2, etc are combined but it's difficult to know if they have really the same content) but I see it is allowed.
However, I have just found out this https://www.goodreads.com/series/1073... the same volumes 1 and 2 without the complete work, this time.
So I think that this https://www.goodreads.com/series/1642... can be deleted after all? (and maybe the other renamed)
What do you think?
Thank you, by the way!

(if not anyone willing to make it a list?)

I would still like another opinion on my one on 668. On one of the books Q&A, I saw the author say they could be read as stand alones.
674. Quite definitely not a series. This looks to be someone's reading list as there is a mixture of fiction & non fiction.
As Paula isn't a librarian I will delete this for her.

Is this a series?"
To me, this looks like a series - shared universe. But I have only skimmed the first book, & that was many years ago.

I have for now removed some books (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... ) that were included but the correct editions should probably be separated from the others.

I have for now removed some books (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4......"
Looks like an imprint rather than a series by GR standards to me as well.

I've found the adaptations and separated them, added the adapter as primary author.
ETA: Around the World has more adaptations combined (of course), working on separating them

The Luna's Sacrifice
Books in the series already linked:
The Luna's Destiny
The Luna’s Choice
Thanks!

This one is easy: It does not apply to all editions of each work.

That is what I thought the rule was. So, since I'm a Super, do I delete that, or is that a staff function? If me, any gotchas I should watch out for? I don't want to make things worse.
Any librarian can delete a series. For some (maybe this one?) it is common to add a list to replace it, although that is certainly not required.

The series is now deleted. Thanks, rivka

I think this is not a series"
That looks like it's supposed to be a series of Graphic Novel adaptations, but some of the entries are not properly set up as adaptations. On it.

Hi Asteropê the second one you have listed has been queried in message 673. The first one looks familiar too. All three look like imprints to me as well.

Opps. Sorry for the duplicate question, then. LOL.

Don't be sorry! Looks like a few of us want to know if this is a series or not! ☺

Are these series?
Someone has recently taken the time to create all of these. Just not sure they are series.
Help.

Is a common setting enough for the books to be considered a series even if there are no characters in common?
Example: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1992...
Setting: Black Light BDSM club in Washington DC
I would say this could be considered a common 'universe', but wanted to make sure.
Thanks
Yes, a shared club, dating agency, fictional small town: these would all meet the definition of a shared universe.
Stories taking place in New York City would not. (Unless it were an alternate New York City with dragons and zombies.)
Stories taking place in New York City would not. (Unless it were an alternate New York City with dragons and zombies.)

I don't see a thing in common that would make that a series ...
https://www.goodreads.com/series/2438...
And reading levels like these https://www.goodreads.com/series/2452...
https://www.goodreads.com/series/2452...
are still no series correct?
(already asked in Projects for a listopia and addition to edition field as it had be done for the Oxford Phonics)
that's just a reading level too isn't it?

Well, from the prospective of a shared universe and people, I'd say it is a series. The books of the Bible have events, people and all kind of things that carry into the other books - they're not self-contained. The Old Testament references into the New Testament as well. If a shared universe (history, events, plot, etc) and people is enough to consider something a series, then I'd think this listing would qualify. I could be wrong but personally, I'd hesitate to delete it for those reasons.

Farmyard Tales https://www.goodreads.com/series/2452... looks like a series to me, though I suspect that Old Mother Hubbard does not belong in it. But on https://www.goodreads.com/series/2452... I think you're right: not a series.

I'm not familiar with Salgari's works, but I can translate you the words:
Pur non costituendo un vero e proprio “ciclo”, i cosiddetti “romanzi d’Africa” (molto numerosi e, in alcuni casi, anche particolarmente rilevanti) vengono comunque considerati un gruppo di fondamentale importanza, e per qualità e per quantità, della produzione narrativa di Emilio Salgari
Even though they're not, properly speaking, a "cycle", the so-called "romanzi d'Africa" [African novels] (many and, in some cases, important books) are nevertheless regarded as a very important group, for quantity and quality, in Salgari's opus.
I understand they are books with the same "theme" (Africa or western), but not, I think, the same characters or the same "world".
