That sounds like a threat...

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Just need to get the screws and sticky tape from Darren's thread.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments No bacon tape?

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments If anyone else trashed a thread like this there'd be trouble! You two! What are you like?

I came here for a little intellectual stimulation.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Patti started it!

message 160: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Stimulation only lasts for about a hundred posts.

Then the thread either dies or gets silly.

But do feel free to be scintillating Kath. ;)

message 161: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I tend to corruscate meself. I leave the scintillation to you younger ones. :)

message 162: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Kath needs glitter. Lots of glitter.

message 164: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments That won't work. She'll bung them in the machine and grind the corners off!

message 166: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments See? What'd I tell ya?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments She sorted them by colour as well!

message 168: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yeah. She's in the spectrum, n all. ;)

message 169: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I never read links by the way. I can't be mithered. So half the time I don't know what you're talking about,

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments They were just pictures of glitter. The first one was little cubes, and the 2nd was powder.

message 171: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Ha! I'm with you there Kath. I rarely click links as well. Except for GL's.

I always click GL's. I frequently regret it, yet I still click them...

;)

I totally misread that as "Just need to get the screws and sticky tape from Darren's HEAD"

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Hah! I knew he had a screw loose!

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Interesting statistic from a contact of mine in the US.

Free downloads during 'Giveaway': 22000

Subsequent sales: 132.

message 175: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Do you know if the 132 was the same book, or the next in a series?

message 176: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments My free download has proved quite fruitful already, and it's not yet a week in. I wasn't selling bucket-loads before it though.

message 177: by Andy (new)

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments Freebies will usually sell other books in a series. Often authors start doing free promotions of their only book and then wonder why people aren't buying it afterwards.
I really ought to start doing some promotion, beyond clicking on the Countdown deal button every few months.

message 178: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments David, it was the same book. The author has a lot of other work out, but in a different genre.

message 179: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I'd say that figure wasn't bad then.

Success is relative:
It is what we can make of the mess we have made of things.

I'd Like to claim that as my own, but it's T. S. Eliot.

message 180: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Wow... I've made a bigger mess than T S Eliot.

Fame awaits.

fame, infamy, it's all relative :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Hmmm.....

Would you use a relative's life threatening health problem as a marketing tool? Anyone?

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "Hmmm.....

Ha! Just commented on that thread. Not sure if it's the overpriced and undertaxed coffee I'm drinking or the post that has left such an unpleasant taste in my mouth.

message 184: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments It's certainly a 'how not to' post, isn't it?

And I'm sorry, no, I'm not linking to the thread as I feel she doesn't deserve any more exposure.

message 185: by Andy (last edited Mar 18, 2014 02:19AM) (new)

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments It's not exactly subtle is it? A short paragraph about someone not having indigestion chunkily linked to a comparison with the lead character from a book. Usually these types of posts try and guilt you into buying a book with the promise of some of the profits going to a related charity but it would appear that spreading the word is enough in this case.

David Manuel | 1112 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "Hmmm.....

I've often considered threats along the lines of "something really bad could happen to you if you don't buy my books." But I decided against it. Figured it wouldn't work.

message 187: by Andy (new)

Andy Elliott | 1446 comments You've got me worried now David. Quick: post a link to your book so I can buy it for my protection!

Ha! You're just trying to trick me into posting something that would get Patti threatening me!

Gimme your email addy, David. I've got some chain mails I wanna send you.

message 190: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Patti doesn't need an excuse to threaten anyone, David.

I know of one SPA, who has sold a lot of books by the way, who delights in telling prospective buyers that the details of the abuse she suffered are in her book which she wrote to help turn her life around after she found god.

I'm all about helpful links today.

message 198: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments That's not leamington spa. And there's no meaningful info in it!

Jeeeeeezzzzzzz
