What are you currently reading?
Just finished The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and still plugging away at A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole and Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple. Hoping that I read two more before the end of April. :)
Hey folks...I'm currently reading 5 books. Yeah, I know, one of "those" people. I've always been like this. Anyway, here are the titles:
1. The Dave Test by Frederick W. Schmidt
2. Plaster City by Johnny Shaw
3. Sanctum by Sarah Fine
4. The Men Who United the States by Simon Winchester
5. Pele's Altar by Michael A. Maney
I have paperbacks, hardcovers and Kindle books...makes no difference to me.
I'm reading Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth and The Godfather by Mario Puzo.

I've got 5 going right now, so you've got me beat by one, darn it! ;)

I love to read a bunch of different books at a time. It keeps life interesting!

I like Michael's saying, "A book juggler", that is what I am too; and Faye you're right, it does keep life interesting. :) So this is my juggling of books:A Confederacy of Dunces, Where'd You Go, Bernadette (which I'm really enjoying), The Unbearable Lightness of Being (just started), Shiloh (reading with my son).
Thanks for giving a name to this fun madness.
I'm reading The Warrior, The Calling(which are both read 4 review requests) and Kingdom Keepers 7 The Insider.

Just starting [book:My Latest..."Hi Sandy, Very sorry about the deaths in your husbands family. Hope you find your humour book.
I'm finally reading The Jungle Book! Should have read it 25 years ago, but better late than never...
Amy wrote: "What did you think of the Curious Incident, Melissa?"Hi Amy, I loved it! I liked the different frustrations that the characters were experiencing. And seeing life through the mind of an autistic 15 year old, I just didn't know until this book. I would recommend highly. Also, highly recommend Where'd You Go, Bernadette.
Lorah wrote: "I'm still reading The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory and today have started We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson."Lorah, I hope you love "We Have Always Lived in the Castle". I honestly only read it because I saw it on your bookshelf as "to read" and thought the cover was cute. I pegged it as one of my favorites this year so far.
We Have Always Lived in the Castle was one of my favorites from last year. I thought the cover looked spooky but am glad I tried it anyway.
I'm reading Nefariousby Steven Freeman as a read 4 review request thriller, Kingdom Keepers 7: The Insider by Ridley Pearson, and will go from there and will try to finish the calling but the text is too small so will try my best.
Finished Salem`s Lot a few days ago. I really enjoyed it. The vampires really are scary and completely ruthless! Loved the setting and the characters of Barlow and Richard Straker are fantastic. Am now tempted to watch the film.
Am reading The Knife of Never Letting Gofor a book recommendation swap at the all about books book club, Nefarious and Killer Rumors with the calling as Read 4 review requests and Kingdom Keepers 7.
Susan wrote: "Wool by Hugh Howey. I've barely started and I'm already totally absorbed."I read this in 2012 and I really liked it. Enjoy!
I have the sequels in my to-read pile, maybe I will get to them next month
I'm still adjusting to reading multiple books at once now that I have an iPad and still reading physical books so at the moment I'm reading
I'm also trying my first audiobook
, which isn't going all that well.
I started The Wolf of Wall Street last night. I really liked the movie, but, as usual, the book is better.I'm also reading Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions which is interesting so far, providing some perspective on why we make certain decisions and how our decisions can be manipulated.
11% into Dune and I'm really starting to get into it! There's just such a long way to go though!
MUST. KEEP. READING.
MUST. KEEP. READING.
It's one of my husband's favourite books, Holly, so I think it will be worth the read in the end. I'd be interested to hear what you think of it afterwards.
Lorah, I gave up on The War of the Worlds as well. I absolutely loved The Time Machine, also by H.G. Wells so I was quite disappointed by the other.Way Station by Clifford D. Simak was really good. It's quite a quick read too.

I finally admitted to myself I'm not going to be able to finish a couple of my April reads by the end of the month. A Briefer History of Time just isn't something I can rush through. My genre humor read is Beasts and Super-Beasts, and even though I like short stories I really don't like to read them one right after the other. They're both books I like though.
