I'm enjoying two new series:McBrides. By Jennifer Ryan of which the first is:
and
Cowboys of Chance Creek by Cora Seton of which the first is
I started listening to
. Unfortunately, the ending was so scratched there was no way I could listen to the end. Now I am getting the book from the library, so I can read the ending. Then I had to order book two. Then I find out book 3 doesn't come out until October.
I've started a new The Last Chance Rescue series by Christy Reece: book #1
Really enjoyed book #1 and #2 from this series. As this series has 10 books, then decided to take a little break and started with Colorado Mountain Series by Kristen Ashley, I'm currently reading book #1
and so far its good.
Janeiowa wrote: "I'm now reading the latest Marie Force novel about Gansett Island..."Janeiowa, I recently grabbed the first in that series, when it became free on Kindle; haven't gotten to it, yet.
As we draw to an end on 2014, I am trying to finish several series and not start any new ones until I do. I want to finish Lori Foster Dash of Peril
and the Visitation, NC series Just a Hint - Clint
and
I am reading the sisters of the Heart series by Christine Feehan. Actually I have read all of CF books and since her latest books came out last May (I didn't realize) I reread the series. I also am reading the Dark series by CF
I am reading the Westmoreland series by Judith McNaught. A Kingdom of Dreams is almost finished, then I'm going to start with Whitney, My Love that should arrive within this week. First book is very good.
Lisa Kay wrote: "Love LF's Visitation series, Anita."So far Visitation, NC is my favorite series by Lori Foster. I like her because there is always a touch of mystery to her romance books.
Say No To Joe?
and the The Secret Life Of Bryan
but the series really starts with characters from the Winston Brothers series, which I also loved. Romance with a little suspense.
These books are older - early 2000, but they are hot romance with lite suspense. Say No To Joe?
and The Secret Life Of Bryan
are the first two in the series. Bur, the character of Joe is introduced in Wild, the last book of The Winston Brothers series, which I also loved. I prefer Lori Foster's earlier works. I'm not a big fan of her WWF and sex trafficking books.
I liked her Buckhorn Bros. books I told her once that I could never remember the names of books and she said, I know I can`t either so I just call them all Buckhorns tho they have different Dads. I was on a board with her and she is so sweet and cute I just love her.
I recently read The Shadows and really enjoyed it (BDB Book# 13). Lots of mixed reviews on this one but I happened to reallllly love it....
Dorsey aka ❤️ Wrath Lover ❤️ & KA Addict wrote: "I recently read The Shadows and really enjoyed it (BDB Book# 13). Usually we get it almost as soon as the book comes out, but for some reason we haven't got it yet. I am really looking forward to it.
Anita wrote: "I am in book 6
and the series is going down hill for me."I hate that when a series declines. Janet Evonivich's Stephanie Plum books did that for me.
I'm still hanging in on Stephanie, Ranger and Joe. I have decided to just enjoy and not expect growth of character or for Steph to choose one of the guys. As long as the book makes me laugh, has a little mystery and a little romance, I'm a happy camper. I have
on hold.

Not really, but since her books take about 4 or more years from now. I would expect about 2019 or 2020. I can't even fathom that is only 4/5 years from now. Seems like the 90s and 2000 were only a couple of years ago instead of 15 or 20 years. She may be coming out with a novella sooner, but I don't know when.
I just finished
American Sniper it was so good that I am already rereading it. There is so much that I didn't catch the first time because a lot of it beyond my frame of reference. It is funny, insightful, and it made me understand and appreciate the sacrifices of our military. I know have a different outlook on the wars we are in.
My friend gave me To Kill a Mockingbird
. I have never read it and I know Harper Lee won a Pulitzer for it, so I am excited.
Just finished #13 in Susan Mallery's Fool's Gold (CA) series..loved it. Actually was too steamy for me but otherwise..excellent.(I am reading these sporadically as I come across them.)
I am reading the Dark Series by Christine Feehan. I love her books, but the sex is always too steamy, and too long for me. I usually skip those parts. I think I like her books because in each one both H/h are able to get into each other's mind and they really get to know the real person inside. I think it would be wonderful for my mate to really know me.
The only series I'm reading that I'm anywhere near current on is Sisters of the Heart by Christine Feehan. Loved
.
After being rendered practically numb by poorly plotted or poorly written characters by authors who shouldn't be self-publishing these "drafts," I'm re-reading someone who is a master storyteller. I'm deep into the Dare Island Carolina series by Virginia Kantra.Carolina Man
. Is #3 in the series. If you begin the series, please consider them in order as the background story for each character is, I think, very important. The first in the series is

Janeiowa wrote: "After being rendered practically numb by poorly plotted or poorly written characters by authors who shouldn't be self-publishing these "drafts," I'm re-reading someone who is a master storyteller. ..."Thank you Jane for giving us the first in the series. I have found even if series are written as stand alone books it is always nicer to read them in order. I started reading the In Death series by J.D> Robb and they were stand alones, in that I could read the book get involved with the characters that is made we want to read other IN Death Books. Once I started reading them in order I got so much more out of it.
I am starting a new series the first book is called The Last Victim
. It is a science fantasy in that the supposed serial killer is killed in prison. Before he dies he falls in love with the psychologist Dr Charlotte Stone. He then comes back periodically for some reason or another. Haven't started it yet and will figure out if there will another book for me.
Man from stone creek by Linda LaelMiller. It gets confusing because it has a connection to another series.
I've read the first three and the last four Psy-Changling books by Nalini Singh along with all of the novellas. I have all the other books so I guess I'll go back and pick up the middle of the series. I obviously have no problem reading a series out of order.
I just finished Declan's Cross
#3 in the series by Carla Neggers. I am behind in this series. I need to read #4 soon as I have 5 and 6 as ARCs.
I just finished Fear trilogy by Kay Hooper. Liked it. Now I'm reading Chicago Stars series by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
Anita wrote: "Chicago Stars is one of my very favorite romance series."Mine too, Anita. So glad that there will be new addition to this series. Only two weeks to wait for its release :)
I am halfway through book 3 of The Montana Hamiltons. Each book has been better than the last..definitely enjoying this series.
There is one person ahead of me on the library hold list for First Star I See Tonight. I can't wait. I got Insidious by Catherine Coulter today. The Montana Hamiltons is definitely a great series. I lucked out and got the last book, Honor Bound
as an ARC. It is literally burning a hold in my Kindle. I want to read it NOW, even though it isn't published till October.
