Melody | 2493 comments I always WANTED to be a July baby Valri, that's probably why you thought that! :) I think Dec is the worst time of year for a birthday! But I love my fellow Decemberites Brittany! We all get each other. ;)

Valri Western | 964 comments I hear ya, Melody! Dec. birthday are not fun! I'm a feb. Bday and those are better! My nephew has a dec. 4th bday and my sister-in-law was always grateful it wasn't later in the month! My best friend had her daughter on Christmas Eve though and she always hated that!

Jennifer | 265 comments My son's birthday is on December 24, 1998 and he loves it because he gets double presents and cards. We make sure his b-day is celebrated apart from Christmas.

Valri Western | 964 comments Good for you, Jennifer! My best friend, whose daughter is born is on the 24th, when she was growing up always celebrated it on her "half birthday" in June! I've heard of other people doing that too. Her daughter wanted to have her party in the summer so my friend said, "ok". Now she's in her mid-20's so she doesn't do it anymore but when she was young, that's what she wanted!

Jennifer | 265 comments It's kind of funny because I told my husband I didn't want to have a baby at Christmas time but I guess God had other plans. :)

Melody | 2493 comments My Mom always made it a point to give us good birthdays (and I say us because my bros b-day is the 29th) because she didn't want us to feel like we had to compete with Christmas. Bless her for that! :) Parties were always hard growing up, because often friends of mine had family Christmas parties and so they couldn't always come to a party. Now that I am older and not having the parties, it's not as big of a deal being a December baby... I just would like to spread out the fun is all. Have more to look forward to at other times of the year than just December!
