Discuss the advent challenge here.

Feel free to post links to free e-books you come across and if you're an author who's needing reviews and your book fits with the theme, promote all you want.

How many books are you going to challenge yourself to read?

I've tried to look for a range of genres, but most of them seem to be Romance.
These links are for Amazon UK, but it you replace .co.uk with whichever ending you need for your country, it'll take you to the right page if the book is available for you.

If anybody wants to read a Christmas Classic, this edition of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is free on Kindle - http://www.amazon.co.uk/A-Christmas-C...

I'll probably be reading this one :)

I think I'm going to really challenge myself and read 12. It'll probably mostly be novellas and some children's stories (I LOVE readings children's books!) so I can read them as well as books to review.

If anybody wants to read a light-lighted Christmas Romance novel, I bought Sleigh Bells in the Snow (O'Neil Brothers, #1) by Sarah Morgan for 59p for my Kindle!

I just finished Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan and loved it so much I just had it give it 5 stars :)

'She'd discovered long before that loneliness could be a dull background ache or it could be sharp and painful. It could bite into the soft parts of a person leaving bruises, or it could just nip gently at the edges of your subconscious. She'd learned to live with it, but tonight the O'Neils had ripped away all the protection she'd so carefully wrapped around herself, leaving her vulnerable and exposed.'

I finished Unexpected Gifts the other day and it was a lovely read, very fun. And it's definitely put me in the mood!

I've finished two Christmas books over the last few days. One was a novella and one was a short story. The novella is Baby It's Cold Outside and it was quite disappointing. It also didn't have anything to do with Christmas, despite the name and the snow on the cover. I only rated this one two stars.

But I also read A Groom for Christmas by Cara Marsi which was great. I loved the concept behind the story and it was light-hearted and entertaining; perfect for Christmas :)

3/5 stars to A Vampire's Christmas Carol by Cynthia Eden

'Ben hunched his shoulders and pulled his coat closer. The cold didn't bother him. His body healed from nearly any injury, so when his fingers got too told, they just started to reheat a few moments later. He healed and he lived and he hated it.'

Smashed it! One book to go and I'm already 1/3 through it.

I never thought I'd enjoy it as much - I've never really read with the season before. I'll definitely do it again, the books seemed all the more real and I'm in a very festive mood now.
