Title/Author: Secret Unleashed by Sierra Dean
Date finished: 10th December
Rating: 4 stars
Review: Another interesting Secret McQueen book. This one I thought really showed how much Secret has grown through the series, and my incoherent thoughts are below in the spoiler for obvious reasons:

...Supernatural: [book:Come Alive..."
The supernatural stamp is still needed for our card's "B" column BINGO if "Part of a Series" shelf gets called.

Title/Author: Warrior's Redemption by Melissa Mayhue
Date finished: 13th December
Rating: 3 stars
Review: I read this free from the XOXO After Dark site. It was a bit meh. Not very interesting characters or not much of a plot. I mean it was okay, but nothing really happened, it was all a bit pointless.
For example, (view spoiler)
The time-travel aspect was all very wishy-washy. No depth, no settling in for Dani, no sense of setting or of the clan. No mystery of who the secret villain was either.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Title/Author: Come Alive by Karina Halle
Date finished: 14th December

Review: It was really great to come back to Experiment in Terror. We did learn quite a bit more about their world and the characters themselves. I wasn't overly blown away by the storyline on this one. All the voodoo stuff could've been scarier, the books where it's been ghosts and haunted places have been much more tense. Maybe it's because it's kind of unexplainable or intangible?
Dex's POV. I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would. I did miss Perry, but it was interesting to be in Dex's quite erratic head. I am looking forward to being back with Perry for the next one, especially as there seems to be still much more to explore, e.g.(view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

LOL, and if both get called we need to decide which shelf to read first as both are BINGOs for other teams as well.

So, are we done or are we continuing on for some sort of 1st, 2nd, ...placement deal?
I'm pretty sure in previous rounds once a BINGO, no more shelves are called even if the teams with potential BINGO from the shelf play on for 2nd/3rd place. Which we have no shot at.

My read for a win would have been:

2013, Part of a Series, or Urban Fantasy Shelf
Archangel's Legion by Nalini Singh
Series: Guild Hunter, #6
Finished: December 14, 2013
Rating:
Number of pages: 374-384 depending on edition (I read nook at 384)
Review: Going in as a long-time fan of series, I knew for me that this one will also be about the characters. Oh, there's worldbuilding and a story/plot—but, this series is character driven. And we're back into Raphael and Elena's story. Yummy. And even if this book had turned out to be a bad one, I know that I would still definitely be continuing the series.

Title/Author: Green-Eyed Demon by Jaye Wells
Date finished: 15th December

Review: This isn't my favourite series to be honest. I do like Sabina, but the other characters I don't particularly care about. It shows how much I care when I actually hoped for (view spoiler) at the end. Just to spice things up a bit.
The second half was much better than the first. The first half dragged, and some of the scenes were pointless. Mac could've been taken out of the book completely, the same with Brooks/Pussy Willow. I kind of thought her character was a bit cardboard cut-out and over the top. I also kept forgetting she was (view spoiler) . The orgy scene I didn't find particularly amusing either. I'm not that PC but I was a bit uncomfortable with the word 'gimp' to describe the midget.
I don't know whether I'll carry on, there is only two books left so I might.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Total utter bust at shrinking the TBR pile -- but fun.
Thanks everyone.
