Starts off with Kitty wondering/researching who might have been a supernatural in history (with a primary focus on a certain Civil War general). That's an interesting thought, yeah? Then it dives into looking for the Dragon's Pearl; a magical artifact. More supernaturals introduced (was that really necessary? I guess why not?). Anastasia has a really good back-story (very tragic and she is amazingly strong). I've continued to enjoy Kitty and her adventures and this was no different. I liked that Ben and Cormac were right there with her for this one. On to the next!

Team 5 a total of 4 books to go for their Bingo (1 book left for Reader's Choice/3 for Urban Fantasy)
Team 4 has a total of 10 books to read for their Bingo (Magic and Urban Fantasy).
On a side note; Team 4 did not have any members of their team drop out, whereas we had 1 member drop out and Team 2 and 5 both had 2 members drop out.

Shelf #13 ~ 15/12/13: Magic

Not at all what I expected. Obvious character growth, realistic and unexpected deaths of important characters, a magical mystery and intense religious element that was a bit too much for me.

The next book in the series is The Crown of Embers, but if I read it in hopes of liking it more than this one, it probably won't be in the very near future.

Review:

Well I didn't get into this book at the beginning. I got into it when magic started. I enjoyed listening to all the magic happen. I was waiting for the final battle between the two magicians.

The characters were very entertaining. I enjoyed Bailey and Cecelia. I am glad that I decided to read this book by Erin Morgenstern. I will have to look at some of her other books.

Review:
This is the second time I have read this book and there really is no way to explain how much I enjoyed this book this time around.

I enjoyed the interactions between that characters a lot and I thought the author did a great job of trying to build us a world that we could fall in love with. I also found that the book flowed at a good pace and I was never bored with where the story was going, I often found myself reading late into the night just to see what was going to happen next even though I already knew what was going to happen.I even shed a tear or two at the end of this first installment of the Covenant series.

This is the start of a series re-read for me so that I can get the full effect of the entire series when I finally get to the 5th and final book that I have yet to read. The series as a whole so far has been a solid 5 stars and will always hold a place in my top 5 favorite series.
