I just finished Maya Banks Breathless series.
I am about to start a new series, do you recommend the Submissive series?

seriously! don't even bother to read the third part. you'll be sorely disappointed.
liked fifty shade of grey
really loved fifty shades darker
hated fifty shades freed (after Aspen)

this man first book was amazing, unputdownable and refreshing.
but was so upset that i hated the second, jesse does some really stupid shit in that one, a lot of it unforgivable, too many bad/painful reveals.

I totally agree with you Sylvia. Hard to find anything that isn't a series. Half the time you have to wait months for the next one to come out or I start to get bored in the middle of the second. They drag them out.

So sorry to hear that in the second book jesse gets even worse than the first book. I am currently reading the first one and I am finding it very hard to finish it because I think he is so over-the-top and ridiculous . Cannot imagine that he gets worse and more controlling in subsequent books.

couldn't agree more,way too many trilogy's
then the ones you want to have more books like beautiful disaster and easy get nothing. sucks

I thought the third book was OK, but it could have been better. I ended rather suddenly. I would have preferred she had either made it longer, or turned it into four books.

I totally agree this series started ok and finished with training a complete disaster!!!

I agree that third book was a lot to take in at first, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Ultimately, I loved that whole series and can't wait for Behind His Eyes to come out.

Yes, this was one of my all time favorite series! I loved the twists and turns. I did, however, wait until just before Conviction was released to read Consequences and Truth. I am tired of waiting. I read fast and miss details, so I end up rereading multiple times which annoys me. I love rereads, but not 3x in one year or something!

Can't agree more with you, I hate it that the author was obviously able to end the story in 3 books but for some reason she ended up stretching it to 5 books and that leading to the books being filled with nonsense and some uncalled for drama.

Couldnt agree more!!! I was totally disappointed reading the first chapter of Conviction. I left it aside two time... yes two times before I took a vow to finish it. And it was what the story needed. Yes definitely the author brought in a different style of narrating - which totally works BTW. It is so cute - such a Happily Ever After. The characters stayed true to their new found strength (Clair had to test Anthony by giving him an option to call the right phone number stored in the cellphone in the locker) and Anthony had to give Clair a choice to take everything in the end!!!
But I do agree - when you first start reading the third book, it will disappoint you, discourage you - but then once you are in the story of it - you will finish the book in one go.. skipping meals, work, or sleep!!!
Totally Love the series and Cant wait for Anthony's point of view!

Jesse has his reasons for being so controlling - and the third books brings all the puzzle pieces together for his certain actions throughout the 2 books. And yes the last half of the book is surprisingly shocking and nail bitting.

What are your thoughts on this series. I loved the first book (even though there are similarities to the Hunger Games series). Even Loved the second book!!!
But the third book completely shakes the reason for existance of the first two books - like negative becomes positive and positive becomes negative!!!!
I see how the author chose the ending and kept it more real - but I was shocked... like a serious heart attack shock that i would have to take Advil when there were turn of events in the third book!!!
And... I would so love to be by Four's side!!!

i agree that allegiant by far was one of the biggest disappointments after so looking forward to reading it for months. i loved the first book, liked the second book and was just so upset with the fact that nothing about the third book made sense. and it wasnt just what happened that was shocking and disappointing, that it happened with no good real reason and was just brushed off like eh it wasnt major. i understand not everyone gets happy endings but with everything they had been through in the whole story i would have liked to have seen it end somewhat better than the crap we were given.

I forget what happened in previous book. I've started waiting for the entire series to finish before I start reading the books. The Crossfire series is frustrating because I thought it was finished, but now it looks like it isn't.

I felt the same about the last book but I finished it and I must say I liked it. There is a conversation with their daughter and Claire's sister's son (can't remember her name) that was soo touching and Claire and Tony did their atoning ad growing to truly become a couple. The only thing I might have done was to have the guy Claire had slept with have a visit with her in the mental facility. It would have all come full circle. I had liked his character. I loved all three books in that series.

WOW, I did not know there was going to an Anthony's POV - very psyched!!!

Seriously!!! I'm so very tired of the installment plan. Lol. I want one book about one couple. Then I MAY like a second or third book about different people within the first story!!

My thoughts exactly!! I waited for this third book but in the end, I had to fight the impulse to throw the book against my wall. (Face palm)

Some authors can do this and do it well. The problem is when one author does it and is incredibly successful, all of a sudden everyone thinks they can do it. Writing a series about one couple and keeping the reader engaged is not an easy thing to do.

I agree with Angie. Writing three books about the same couple is difficult, and unfortunately, very few authors have done it well. Why not just make book one longer to encompass everything and not drag it out using three books.

I agree with you book 1 was very good, 2 had some fluff in the begining and had a good cliff hanger ending, 3 was almost 90% fluff. I might still buy 4 because of 3's ending, I feel like I already invested in the series not to see it through.

Lol agreed. It was painful to read..... And I won't read through his eyes.
as far as crossfire series......lol they've had their happy ever after for a while, won't sink more time or money into that series

But one story that I felt left us in the lurch (as a standalone) was Raw by Belle Aurora. If it was going to be a standalone, then the very last paragraph should have been removed!
I'm so fucking tired of manipulative authors.....
*jumps off soapbox* rant over lol

RANTS = Passion so always go for it...I love feeling so strongly about a book.

Good decision on BHE. I am currently reading BHE and there is no insight into Tony - nothing that I did not already know - very disappointed BUT I loved that series. It's like I wrote BHE with how I felt he was thinking and I am NOT a writer. 72% into the book....still waiting for something I did not know.

And oh Gosh, Entwined With You being continued by Captivated By You (both spread over numerous worthless pages) were total disappointment, weren't they? :(
Anyways, I kept on buying the books and kept on reading them cover to cover, so I guess it could have been worse...

"The Crossfire series is a quintet. At the end of Entwined with You there are still threads that need to be tied off and a lot more work ahead for Gideon in Captivated by You. The Crossfire series documents Gideon and Eva’s relationship day by day. Because there are no leaps forward in time, only a few months have passed in Gideon and Eva’s relationship by the end of Entwined, and only two weeks since the end of Reflected in You. There are a lot of milestones that they haven’t reached because there hasn't been enough time elapsed."
