Angie (angabel) Because really, how many scarves does a girl need?

The worst thing is, I have so much yarn and like crocheting so much I'm just going to keep amassing them.

I've decided I am NOT going to put these scarves back in their box. I am going to get rid of them, somehow.

Anyone need a handmade scarf?

Reads with Scotch Don't feel bad. I think knitting and crocheting is an obsessive compulsive(s) dream. My wife is the same way, knitting constantly. A few years ago I got her a drop spindle... then she wanted a spinning wheel... then this fiber and that fiber, now she wants me to build her a knitting studio!

Every time we watch a movie at home she is knitting.

Angie (angabel) I am doing everything I can not to get into spinning my own yarn.

I crochet when watching television as well. I think I just feel bad because I can't seem to turn my obsession into something that pays off, because all I really do is crochet scarves and hats. I'm going to make a poncho next!

I have some friends who can be wearing something they made and can sell it to someone who tells them it's cute. Why does this never happen to me?

smetchie | 5729 comments Angabel, you should knit. You can make way more stuff with knitting. Someone in a yarn store told me the same thing before I knew how to knit and I thought "stupid knitting snob" but she was right.

I buy yarn all the time with nothing in mind to make and then it just sits around. Same with buttons. I LOVE buttons. They're so cute!

I haven't knitted a single thing since I started posting in this club....

Reads with Scotch Start a website... or go to a knitters website. Then you find out where and when the knitting conventions are(and yes they really exists) and go to them. You take your wares with you and sell them. some people will give you suggestions on how to improve your technique others will just want to buy your stuff.

The wife always tries to drag me to these. after the first couple I had to tell her one more would result in divorce. now she goes with her friends... and takes pictures to share with me when she gets home... Oh look at this fiber isn't it AMAZING! it was so soft, it was only XX.XX an ounce :-/ bitch why can't she have a cheap hobby like shoe shopping or something.

Angie (angabel) Gretchen, I can knit a little bit. I'd have to reteach myself at this point, though I took one of those free patterns from the yarn store the other day of a vest that I'd really like to make. I think my current problem is that most of the yarn I have is not really good for clothing items, so if I can get rid of it with crocheting, all the better.

Right now the big craze are those little animals, which are easier to crochet, so I'm going to start making those and selling them.
