I really liked Five Children and It!
LauraT wrote: "P: Boris Pasternak - Doctor Zhivago. Never read it, the film was too "sugary" for me!!!"The book definitely isn't 'sugary' - and its different to the film. (I do love the film though)

UEleanor Updale
Montmorency: Thief, Liar, Gentleman?
A great addition to the children's lit shelves set in Victorian London Montmorency is a great character.

Why have you jumped from Z to K Alannah? Are you looking on an earlier page? I've done that before now. :)

Note to self..... Look more carefully.
F: Ken Follett - The Pillars of the Earth, The Key to Rebecca, The Third Twin, Code to Zero, A Dangerous Fortune, etc. etc.
Ooo that is difficult, Laura. There are 3 collections of about 8 stories in each. Another collection is Ghost Stories of an Antiquary. The last story in this is called The Treasure of Abbot Thomas which might be a good one, but that's a bit more literal than A Warning to the Curious. Think of an understated Edgar Allan Poe; in "A Warning to the Curious" it's all suggestion.
There are reviews on my page of the collections and also some individual stories, Laura :)
L: D.H. Lawrence - Sons and Lovers which I didn't really like (but it has been 30+ years so maybe I should try again...)

P: Elizabeth Peters - author of fun cozy mysteries set in late 1800s/early 1900s primarily in Egypt. First one is Crocodile on the Sandbank
Q: Salvatore Quasimodo, one of our major poets (from Italy), but I don't have read anything by him..
Terri wrote: "T: Tunneling to the Center of the Earth: Stories--Kevin Wilson"Terri, I think that you got confused about which thread you were in - this one is author's last names.
