Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments Here is our "chat room" for our second readathon! :D

Last time, I didn't open up the thread to new comments until a few hours before start time but I thought to keep it open. We can talk about our progress or books we have or are planning on reading! And we can keep each other motivated! :D

I can but I'm not sure how the group chats are set up. Becky set it up and I think she is going to be out of town! Anybody else now how to set it up?

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Last time I got in the chat room towards the end...took me forever to figure it out. LOL But it was fun.

message 8: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Good luck everyone who is going to participate. :)

message 9: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi I can imagine. One reason why I didn't sign up (I am in CEST and would have to get up at 6am) Though I can't imagine it is 4am, since you are in the UK (which with daylight saving time is GMT+1), so it would be 5am. :)

message 10: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi True, very true. :) Even for books I wouldn't get up at 6am or 5am.

message 20: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 18, 2013 04:34PM) (new)

I most likely will not get a nap in (drink a large Starbucks with an added shot of espresso) because I'm trying to write my lesson plans for my course work. They are due at midnight.

I need to finish Carrie by Stephen King but I think I will start off with either Dualed (Dualed, #1) by Elsie Chapman or The Eye of Minds (The Mortality Doctrine, #1) by James Dashner

Getting excited!!!

(Hope everyone enjoys their nap)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Lindsey, when you said you live on Coffee I got SO EXCITED for a minute because Coffee Rd. is a nearby street. I also live in CA, about 15 miles from Stockton. I'm in Manteca. Do you know it it? Where in CA are you?

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Awe, I used to live in Santa Ana, Glendora, Pasadena, Altadena, and La Puente...oh, and I graduated Temple City High.

I have a son and his wife and their 6 kids who love in Burbank, so do I see a meeting one day soon? I've driven twice to San Diego to meet an author, Lee Fullbright. We hit it off so I went this last summer again and took one of my daughters who is also an avid reader, so she also met Lee. Talk about a wonderful human being!!

How many books and pages did you read last time?

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

WOW 6 kids for your son! I love big families, I always wished my parents had more (I have one older brother). But I'm making up for that through the kids I watch. I currently nanny a 2 year old girl, a 22 month old boy, and a 5 month old boy. I love it!!

A meet up would be fun. I have always wanted to get to know people on here better.

I have wanted to drive to meet authors but my life has gotten busy with college and working on becoming a teacher.

message 34: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Sounds so fun on all counts!!! I have 5 "kids" and 19 grandkids: 10 boys, 9 girls. I usually only get to Burbank area during the summer, and my San Diego trip is going to be an annual thing, I'm sure. I'll contact you when I'm heading that way and hopefully it'll work out.

I'm a high school English teacher. What are you studying to teach?

That is one big family!!
At the moment Summer would be the only time for me!

High School, nice. I'm working on getting everything that goes with becoming a special education teacher. First I'm getting my early childhood credential followed by mild/mod credential followed by mod/severe followed by a masters. So the next three years will be a lot of work for me.
