Robin laughed, "Yes, but I would like to point out that I did get a lovely snogging session the next day with that very girl." He looked Marian over, "I know that when someone blows on your neck you go crazy."

Marian rolled her eyes. "Glad that made up for cramming me into a tree stump for three hours." Marian really bit her lip now. He payed more attention that she gave him credit for. "I know that despite all else you a amazingly loyal." She leaned forward like she was going to kiss him. She knew what he would do.
Robin pulled back slightly and glared at Marian. "Sorry Mar, I know how irresistible I am. But Rosalie's the only one I love." He said, his voice growing cold.
"Hah!" Marian exclaimed jumping back from Robin. "Told you you were loyal. I knew you wouldn't kiss me not when you told me you loved her." She pushed a finger into his chest. "You're a good guy."
Robin frowned and leaned forward, giving Marian a quick kiss on the cheek. "There. I did it." He said, crossing his arms over his chest.
Marian grinned even bigger. "Too late Ro. You already did the damage. Now I will forever know that you are a good guy." She leaned forward conspiratorially. "I won't tell anyone though."
Robin glared at Marian, "Marian, you stop right now or I will do it. Robin Hood never loses, it doesn't happen." He said defiantly.
"Robin never loses to anyone but me." She corrected. She could taunt him like this forever. It distracted her from how she really felt.
"Don't tempt me Mar. You're starting to tick me off." He narrowed his eyes at her. If it took kissing her to shut her up, he would do it. Only to prove he felt nothing, and that only kissing Rosalie meant something to him.
"Robin you have a will of steel, nothing could tempt you." She was only proving that she knew exactly how to push his buttons. He wouldn't carry through his threats.
"Oh, my dearest Mar. Many, many things can tempt me. I'm actually very weak when it comes to woman." He confessed, narrowing his eyes at Marian.
"Yes but not me." She continued. "You told me you felt nothing for me, ever, you assured me." She narrowed her eyes. "You can't be tempted if you never cared at all." The words burned her throat as she said them. She didn't actually want to believe it.
Robin sighed and looked away from Marian, before whispering so quietly that almost he couldn't he what he was saying, "Of course I loved you Marian. I still do. But I love Rosalie." He dropped his head.
Marian lost all of her teasing spirit at those words. She had started to believe she couldn't get him to say them and now she hated herself for it. She hated that despite everything, even that he cared for someone else and so did she. Even though she wanted to move on so badly she still would always wonder what it would have been like if he had kissed her just once. She sighed. "I told you I could read you." Was all she said.
Robin kept his head down. How could he have confessed that to Marian? Of course he loved her! But he had moved on because he knew she deserved better. Even Will had confessed to not wanting them to be together. With Rosalie, he finally felt like he was worthy of someone, even if she was still so much better than him. "Yeah Mar, you're good at reading. But like Will explained to me, I'm not good for you."
Marian actually heard herself growl. "what? He said that? He lied to me?" She said in a wavering voice. Will had always told her that Robin didn't feel that way about her. She didn't know that Will had just never asked.
Robin looked up confused, "Will refused to tell me anything until today. When I told him I had feelings for you, awhile back, he warned me to not pursue them, as I was better at non-committed relationships, and you would never see me as more of a brother." He explained.
Marian was sick to her stomach. "He told you that?" she slammed a fist down on the desk and stood up quickly. "He knew how I felt. Told me to wait, to see if you would come around but he always thought you would see me as a sister." Marian was furious at her brother. None of this would be happening if not for him. She might have actually been able to have Robing.
Robin frowned at Marian, "Why are you so angry? You have Charming now. He is twice the man as I." He asked confused. Marian couldn't possibly still want Robin, could she?
"I'm angry because I was lied to." Marian fumed. She came to stand over her where he sat. "I'm angry because if I hadn't been lied to things could have worked out differently."
"How would you have wanted them to work out Marian? Would you have wanted you and I to end up together instead? To not have Charming and Rosalie?" He asked accusingly, gripping her wrist.
"Yes Robin!" She screamed. "That was exactly what I am saying. I wish that we had ended up together, that you had never left, that me and Will had never left, that it was just us and we had never dragged anyone else into this huge mess." She pushed down tears.
Robin stood shocked at Marian's response. He had the urge to run to her, to make everything all right, but he couldn't. That would be betraying Rosalie, his love. So instead he stood where he was and watched Marian, as Robin himself fought tears back, "I'm sorry Mar. I really am. Maybe one day... If this doesn't work out..." He trailed off. "Promise me something?"
((I do to. For me Robin and Marian not being together is almost a sin. I'm breaking my own heart here))It was nice to see some emotion from him but his words only broke her further. The way he said Mar, he was the only one to ever call her that. "Anything Robin. I'll promise you anything." She assured him in a shaky voice.
((It's killing me! I adore Robin and Rosalie so so so much! And Charming and Marian so much as well! But I just want Robin and Marian to kiss already!))Robin sighed and walked over to Marian, pulling her into a hug. "Promise me, that if this doesn't work out, and we're alone one day, we'll end up together. We'll start a family." He whispered quietly.
((We have caused so much trouble by deviating from the stories. I know, me to!))Marian shivered at the words. They were all she had ever wanted to hear him say to her. It hurt more than anything that it took this for him to finally say it. "I promise. I promise with all my heart." She assured him, burying her face in his shirt. He still smelled like the woods.
Robin smiled and kissed the top of her head like he always did when she was upset. "Thank you Marian. I'm so sorry about everything that has happened." He hugged her tighter to him.((IM SO UPSET))
(( Why do we do this to ourselves and them? *sobs silently*))"I'm sorry to." She whispered. "I'm sorry that I didn't just tell you myself. I was a coward, a trusting coward." She whispered bitterly.
((Now I have two ships that I love, involving the same people!))Robin smiled and kissed her head again, "You're not a coward Mar. You're anything but." He reassured her. He felt a pit in his stomach, and he couldn't figure out why.
((I know! How do we get ourselves into these messes))"I am when it comes to you. I always have been and I always will be." She sighed. "You have always made me weal Robin and you always will. You know things I could never even dream about telling anyone else." She told him. She felt sick with what she knew she couldn't have.
Robin shook his head, "Don't be silly. I may know things, but I would never use them against you in a hurtful way. I care for you too much Mar. You know that?" He swayed her side to side.
"Not what i meant." She said with a small smile. She felt like they were dancing. she had taught robin to dance. "1,2,3. 1,2,3." She murmured as he swayed her.
"What did you mean?" He asked curiously, smiling down at Marian as they swayed around the room, just like old times.
"I meant that you are the only one who will ever know a lot of those things." she said, swaying with him. "I would never tell and you would never tell. I suppose we will take them to our graves. You'll always have a part of me." She said.
"I'm glad that you trust me so much." Robin said honestly, "But if I may ask, what do you know about me that no one else can know?" He asked her curiously.
"Maybe nothing. I know that you have a great sense of humor but that's obvious. I know that you didn't learn how to dance until you were fifteen." She paused. "I know that when you get tired you say things you would never tell when you're awake." She sighed. "Your thoughts always make it to some kind of picture and every emotion you have is played out in your eyes. You wear a green cap because it was your dad's favorite color." she said. "Do you remember telling me that?"
Robin looked down at Marian sadly, "No. I don't remember that. When did I tell you that?" He asked curiously. Robin never spoke of his dad, it made him feel vulnerable, and Robin hated feeling vulnerable.
"When we were waiting for that messenger to tell us when we could get that shipment of gold. We sat up in that tree until you nearly fell out of it. You told me lots of things that night." She sighed.
Robin nodded as he finally remembered the memory, "Oh yes. I remember that night. That was the night..." He paused and closed his mouth, looking away.
"That was the night what Robin?" Marin asked him. She hated it when he tried to keep things from her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and looked into his eyes in a pleading way.
"Don't look at me like that Mar. Saying it will make it worse." He tried to avoid her eyes, not wanting to make the situation more awkward for them.
"Robin Hood I swear you will regret it if you don't tell me the truth right now." She told him not allowing him to look away from her.
"Well.. That was the night I realized I loved you." He whispered, his stomach twisting and turning. He didn't want the wrong reaction out of her.
Marian bit her lip and closed her eyes. "No wonder you told me so much." she said with a smile in her voice. "I realized I loved you first though" She told him.
Robin chuckled, "Oh yeah? And when was that?" He asked curiously. They were still swaying to the nonexistent music. Robin felt so calm with Marian, it was so natural.
"I knew you fascinated me from the first time you fell out of that tree into mine and Will's lives." She said laying her head against his chest. "I fell in love with you whe you taught me how to swim. You didn't mock me for it like I thought you would and I realized there was more to you than just humor. I gave you my heart and then I tried to drown you." she said with a grin.
Robin frowned and looked down at Marian, "Mar, you're making this so much harder to let you go. I need to be with Rosalie, and you need to be with Charming. I mean, Rose and I have already...." He trailed off.
"All I'm doing is telling you the truth like you have always asked of me." She told him. "Go ahead and send me away whenever you like. You were here first." She sighed. "I still feel safest telling my secrets to you Ro."
