Sure does, as one of its multiple themes.

Harry Harrison's Make Room! Make Room!, later made into the movie Soylent Green, is another.

Text Addict (textaddict) | 29 comments And then there's Logan's Run from 1967 (the novel, not the movie, which changes the context).

This was, I believe, a theme that was pretty popular in the 1960s and 1970s, before actual data started coming that indicated population growth was leveling off - or even dropping - in advanced industrial societies.
