ABANDONED. YA book/ girl goes to learn how to fight and is supposed to have a partner but he died.

A girl lives with her parents and in this society, every person has a soul mate and you know by a tattoo (or something) on your body. This girl's soulmate died and so her tattoo is red (I think). She goes to train at a fighting school and she is given a partner because she doesn't have her soul mate to watch her back. A guy shows up and starts giving her advice on how to fight and she gets confused because now she has a "soulmate" but she likes the new guy. I don't remember any more except the ending. **SPOILER ALERT** That guy who shows up is her soul mate and she finds out when he is injured. **SPOILER ALERT OVER**. I think they might be fighting flesh eating monsters. Please help!
