Hi all,

While I am an author, I am still ..."

I do respect your opinion. I'm an author myself and feel that my works are the greatest pieces of literature ever devised. However, to be great, I feel that time is the best judge there is. If a majority of people are discussing your books years after your death, then I will truly feel that your works are, indeed, great. As to Tolkien, I'm 42 years old, I can say the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit have been considered great works of literature during the entirety of my life.

Kevin Xu (kxu65) I find the greatest not just science fiction, but of all time is Ender's Game because as Card wrote in the introduction that the book has no one direct meaning, it can mean many different things for many different people.

Wonderful quote. I hate that Card has generated so much controversy lately because it overshadows what an incredible author he is.

Well, I think he was an incredible author until he started his online magazine after writing Shadow of the Giant. Everything he has written since then has been more of feel toward and for the masses that anyone could have written. What I did like about his writing and books was that their were purely uniquely his own style that no one could have copied off of.

I have not read is later stuff. I was referring to Ender's Game and I believe it was called the Alvin Maker series.
