I keep wanting to read Anatoly Vireska with a heavy Russian accent, but then he says something like "ain't convenient" and I have to pick my mind back up after failing at the mental acrobatics to make it sound right...
I really hope now that Locke and Jean have escaped, they will stop being so badly outclassed. But I'm not optimistic.
It seems like Mr. Lynch thinks the only way to tell a story is to constantly make his protagonists look like idiots, despite being quite the contrary.
Meanwhile the flashback story is pretty good.

That section was a bit weird. I get how she got locke to get out, but Jean fighting 20 armed men in the room next door, and Locke didn't hear a thing?I have a few more comments, but I'm a bit lost in where I am in your comment sections right now, so I'll keep them or me.

Nope. I disliked the final book of his first series so much plus the new series isn't complete yet that I'm not in a hurry to check it out. Your comment pushes it a bit further down my list too.
I'm a bit burnt out on that kind of thing.
