Just read through Chapter 10

(view spoiler)[ First off, I loved Marlee and Americas friendship. I thought it was pure and honest, and I'm so sad to see Marlee go, and to see what happened to her with the caning. I can genuinely say it made me cry.

Also, I hate Americas older brother, Kota. He's so smug. Even in just his letter you can tell he thinks he is above it all. I also wish Gerad was there. (view spoiler)[

I had a quote, and I don't remember what chapter it was, the quote was, "Love is a beautiful fear." I really enjoyed that.

(view spoiler)[ First off THANK GOD FOR AMERICA FIGHTING CELESTE! I think we were all just waiting for it. At least, I was XD. Still, even though I like America, I don't like that the rules are getting bent for her. I mean, she's a strong protagonist as is, she doesn't need rules to be changed for her. I get that they have to keep the plot going, but I'm just like that.

Speaking of America, I love her drive. She's always so determined to do what's morally right, and I appreciate that that hasn't faded in her character since the first book. Also her dad is the sweetest character.

And the whole thing with Marlee. I was smiling so much. I'm on the fence about Maxon, though. It's weird that he'll do one nice thing for America and then ignore her for a while. I know he has other duties, but still.

(view spoiler)[ First off, I will fight all day about Apsen because I love him so much. He's just the best honestly. But I agree with the King. He's trash and deserves to rot for what he did to Maxom. I'm not #TeamMaxon, but he didn't deserve that one bit.

Elise's family rubs me the wrong way. I feel like there is something going on there behind the scenes and she's fake. I don't know what, but I feel she is using her connections to put the kingdom in danger.

Also, I'm sorry, but Maxon angered me a lot in the last 10 or so chatpers. First, the thing with Celeste. Of all people, I just couldn't get over that. And then he used Kriss against Amrica multiple times....When Maxon was talking about America and is trust in her, he said,

"I've shown you so many of my secrets, defended you in every way I can. But when you aren't pleased with me, you act rashly. You shout me out, blame me, or, most impressively, try to change the entire country."

But Maxom also lashes out. He's no saint either. The way he behaves sometimes is inappropriate. His behavior is what CAUSED America to reveal those secrets. Also I love America so much. She's such a well-written character. She is a strong protagonist but isn't invincible. I'm #TeamAmerica as of right now.

Just finished!! Literally continued reading while my favorite TV show of the whole week was on air. Yay for multitasking!
I enjoyed this book more than the first one, all in all a 5-star read. Truly none of the characters are saints in this book and that is why I enjoy it so much. It is truly refreshing to read about the actions of everyone and the fact that most actions are reactions to something else more than they behaving irrationally out of nowhere. I feel like Kiera Cass describes consequences and actions very specific to each different character and I am in love with it. What I love the most about the series so far is the world she built. This book even more so than the first one. I feel like you are slowly introduced to the world, and there is yet so much more to come/learn that I cannot wait to read book 3!
I am going to take a little break from the series to focus on other buddy reads for now though.

3. ) Maxon is so sweet, and the fact he wants to see America's family. Also, I love that he is spoiling her almost by letting her do all these things.(I would love to read about him trying to cook with America, I think it would be so cute.)

There is definitely some hidden history here which everyone is hiding.
Even if WW4 happened as the story goes how could it lead to hiding the history??
What could have even lead to scaling system?
