Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "Green tea?" Marcie smiled and shook her head, recovering herself. "I find that kind of tea too relaxing. I need to be perky when it comes to work and lemon just brightens up everything for me."

Z | 2683 comments "Ah of course, that's when I drink my black tea, while I'm working or translating." Bastian smiled and leaned back.

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "I see." She fought back a yawn, as she felt the lateness begin to hit her. "Excuse me. I've been running around all day, so forgive me if I yawn too much."

message 104: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments "Oh don't worry about it, would you like to go to bed? I can walk you home." He sat up and unlaced his fingers.

message 105: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "Oh, no, no. You don't have to do that. I can manage on my own, I think," she said, giving a wave of her hand and smiling.

message 106: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian nodded. "If you're sure." He sat back and relaxed again.

message 107: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "I am. My house isn't too far away actually, though I'm rarely there. I practically live at the newspaper office, though," Marcie commented.

message 108: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments "Really? Well it's nice to know I have a neighbour, even an absentee one." He grinned and chuckled.

message 109: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments Giving a laugh, Marcie gave a shrug. "Who knows? You might have given me a good reason to be at home more often."

message 110: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments "Well I'm glad to hear it." Bastian grinned at her. He was glad she had accepted him for his difference and glad he had found a friend in her.

message 111: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "I hope so. Most men would be afraid." Marcie winked at him. She was glad that he could loosen up a little around her and was happy to see him smile so openly.

message 112: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian sipped his tea after chuckling at her statement. He crossed his hands together and stared off to the distance for a moment, drawing a blank for what to say.

message 113: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments She check her watch again and was more alarmed that it was only a few more hours until the sun would rise. Picking up her empty cup and placing it near the kitchen sink, Marcie gave a small sigh. "Well, tonight has been most adventurous and I best get going before I zonk out here at your kitchen table."

message 114: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian picked up his cup and the tea pot, placing them near the sink as well. "It has been wonderful having you here." He walked with we to the door. "I'll see you again later I presume?"

message 115: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "Of course, Bastian." Marcie beamed up at him. "You have a delightful evening."

message 116: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments "And you as well." He beamed back at her and opened the door for her.

message 117: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments Before passing through, Marcie went on her toes and gave him a quick, friendly hug. When she pulled back, she pretended to look stern. "You know that was an order and not just a wish of good will, right? You must promise me you'll have a good evening."

message 118: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian hugged her back and then nodded pretending to be very serious. "I promise, I will have a good evening." He smiled happily at her.

message 119: by Ji Mei , The Meticulous Secretary (new)

Ji Mei (jimei) | 6855 comments "Good," she said firmly, grinning back at him. Giving one last wave, Marcie slipped out the door and began walking down the street, turning her back away on her friend for the evening. That certainly was most unexpected, she thought with a small smile to herself. It seems life had its way of always surprising her, first with Sean and now Bastian. She wondered what else it would hold for her.

message 120: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian watched her go, smiling as she went. He hadn't felt this good in months and turned, while whistling a small tune. He was happy she had accepted him and was glad to have found a friend in her over here in America.

**END OF SCENE**

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments Allison slowly cracked open the hidden door of a tunnel, checking around them before she just threw it open. She glanced back for a second and nodded to her brother before pushing it all the way open and hopping out onto the dark street. Adar came down from above and landed on her shoulder, looking at them but still keeping one eye on the shop. "Nothing seemed off, it seems like it should be fairly easy." He said quietly, though the twins were the only ones who could even understand him.

message 122: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments "Of course it will be easy, I'm sure the owner is just some old bookworm that can sleep through a train wreck." Oliver winked at his sister and slipped up to the shop window, not seeing anyone he took two tiny straight pins and stuck them in the front door lock. After hearing the soft click he swung open the door quietly, luckily it didn't screech or squeak, poking his head in before he walked inside to make sure no one was around he entered with the quiet thump of his feet on the wood floor. "Gosh this might be tricky." he whispered looking around at the stacks of books everywhere, he had no clue where to start looking for what they needed.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments Allison stepped in after him, adjusting the bag over her shoulder slightly. "And we'll also have to hurry, since you took so long." She thumped him on the back of the head and began looking through the stacks, occasionally taking one and flipping through. Most of them didn't seem very useful to what they were looking for, but with some she managed to find something worthwhile and stuffed the book into her bag. Adar did the same, opening the ones at the tops of stacks and silently placing them in two piles, one to take back to the hideout and the larger one, useless information.

message 124: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments Oliver slid his finger down the spines of a tall stack of books, seeing a title that might have a bit of promise he slipped it out from the bottom of the stack, accidentally knocking down that and two other ones on top of himself.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments ((And now..... we wait for Zac!))

message 126: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian had just closed his eyes, or so it seemed, when he heard a scuffling come from the front. He grumbled and closed his eyes again, trying to fall asleep. Then he heard the crash. Bastian stood, grumbling slightly. He wasn't sure who it could've been. He was hoping it was just a rat or Marcie. He straightened his pyjamas and walked to the front of the shop. "Who's there?"

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments "You idiot!" Allison hissed and jumped back as Oliver knocked down three stacks. Hearing someone call she quickly ducked and hid. "Put your head down." She whispered, listening for movement in the dark.

message 128: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments "Sorry" Oliver mumbled, now slightly disoriented from the tumbling of books on top of his head. He ducked down behind another, still straight, stack of books and peered around it to see who was asking for them.

message 129: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian put his glasses on and walked into the front of the shop. Luckily he needed no light to see in the dark and immediately spotted a few fallen books. "Hello?" He called out again while shuffling slightly towards the books. He rubbed his eyes, why did this have to happen so late, it was almost sunrise.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments Allison moved slightly further behind a stack, wanting to look out but not willing to risk being seen. Adar hid himself up closer to the ceiling, watching closely at whatever moved below.

message 131: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments "Alli" Oliver whispered and tapped her on the shoulder, he pointed at the man who came out silently with his eyes wide. He recognized the vampire that had tried to attack his sister immediately.

message 132: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian yawned and walked out from behind the counter. He began walking towards the pile of books. "Come on out now, I don't want any trouble." He called out.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments Allison nodded quickly weaving a small illusion over herself so that she could peek out without being seen. At this point it seemed they were stuck, if they stayed and he came around the corner they would be seen, but if they made a move for the exit or possibly even another hiding place they would also be seen. Her eyes darkened as she wove together another illusion, hoping that she would have enough time, though it wasn't very likely she would.

message 134: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments "It's no good, I'm not sure if it'll work on him." Oliver said almost silently. He stared around the stack of books now very careful to not knock it over.

message 135: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian moved towards the stack of books, he saw movement, but because of the sleepiness in his eyes, he dismissed it as a trick of light. "I'm coming over there now, if you don't come out I'll have to take matters into my own hands."

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments "Well we have to try something." Allison whispered, putting the small illusion over themselves. A couple of books fell from the top of a pile behind the vampire, and before there was time to turn to see who caused it Adar was back up near the ceiling and out of sight. She saw the bird nod at them to move and waited for the chance.

message 137: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments Oliver snickered to himself and watched as Adar stayed out of sight of the calm vampire in the room with them.

message 138: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian turned at the sound and went to look at the source of the noise. He rubbed his eyes and saw no one. Grumbling he walked back towards the original noise. If he had been thinking straight he would've been more silent, but the tiredness was still wearing off, so he stumbled slightly.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments Allison used the small window of time to run to a hiding spot closer to the door, ducking behind a shelf almost too late. She glanced out for a split second, unsure if she'd been seen. With one more distraction from Adar they might be able to get out without much more trouble, even though it all would have been for nothing as she'd dropped her bag earlier.

message 140: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments Still clutching the book that might be useful Oliver looked out at the man, just as he looked the boy's way. Slipping deeper into the bookshelves, and unfortunately away from his sister, he hoped he hadn't been seen.

message 141: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian saw a flicker of movement going deeper into the shop and towards the bookshelves. He began walking towards it when he stumbled. Looking down he saw a bag filled with his books. He frowned and stood, beginning to move onwards towards the movement he had seen.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments "Wrong way you idiot, we're trying to get out of here." Allison muttered under her breath as Oliver ran closer to the back. Thinking quickly, she pulled a book from a shelf and threw it to where they had been standing before, knocking down a couple of books with the one that she threw.

message 143: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments Catching on to his sister's idea Oliver grabbed a different book and knocked down another stack, far away from either twin.

message 144: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian twirled and saw the books fall, then heard another pile. Seeing his books fall and being so strung from weariness and annoyance he shouted at the top of his lungs. "Stop!" A wave of energy blasted from him, freezing the falling books in place.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments Allison jumped, seeing the books stop before they hit the ground. They hadn't even expected this to be who owned the shop, much less that he could do this. Adar swooped down and picked up another book, dropping it on the man's head as he flew back up.

message 146: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments Oliver's giggle was a little too loud for his own good as Adar dropped the book, he pushed over a bookshelf to mask his noise and skidded behind another, still standing, one.

message 147: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments When the book hit his head, his concentration broke. The books fell to the floor. Magic, well it turns out it is a vampire trait. he thought. When he heard the giggle, Bastian had a suspicion grow in his mind, he'd heard that laugh before.

Lizzie [may soda be eternal] (kisaragiidolmomo) | 912 comments "Don't make so much noise." Adar said quietly, dropping down next to Oliver for only a second before going back up. We're running out of time here. Allison thought. She had to figure out anohter distraction that would give Oliver enough time to get closer to the door so they could get out, but with one of them in the front and one in the back of the small store there weren't very many places to make such a distracion. Silently she moved closer to the side wall and slightly back, arming herself with another book. She threw it hard at the back wall, running back to where she had been before. "Come on!" She mouthed at her brother.

message 149: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (panicrocks95) | 883 comments Oliver couldn't necessarily run to the opposite side of store with the bloodsucker standing in the middle. He rolled his eyes and started slowly working his way around the shop and toward he door, hopefully without being seen.

message 150: by Z, The Faithful Servant (new)

Z | 2683 comments Bastian whirled around at the sound of the book. "Confound it all." He walked over to the sound, his movements losing their sleep like shuffle.
