Question - Elemental Magic

Joy created a great poll that goes along wonderfully with this book about elemental magic - Thanks Joy!

I like the idea of elemental magic & it's a theme in several good series that I'm aware of. We're reading about it in Witch Fire. Lilith Saintcrow uses it in her Watcher Series. My favorite series with elemental magic is Rachel Caine's Weather Warden Series - SO GOOD! All three of these series have very unique twists on the theme of magic.

Are there any other books with elemental magic? Any twists you like within them?



I like that the Weather Warden series isn't necessarily the 4 elements we're used to (Earth, Fire, Water, Air) but 3 where Earth, Fire & Weather.

Elemental magic is used in the Vampire Academy books, and there is a fifth element used as well, spirit.

Elemental magic is a big part of Mercedes Lackey's great retellings of fairy tales like Beauty and the Beast in her The Fire Rose and Snow White in her The Serpent's Shadow.
