Kiob, unless things have changed, one needs to be a librarian to combine editions. So for now, whenever you add/create a translated edition, pls post request for combine here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Am I understanding you correctly that there is still a chance it will be published?

Then we wouldn't delete the book, which removes it from the shelves of all the users who have it marked as to-read. And if needed, we can correct the data later on.
