Last week-end I bought Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because I lost my previous one and The Graveyard Book for my son. I may read it before him though.

What a great title! I feel like pre-ordering it too and I haven't read any of the series ;-D
Nice, I enjoy the Iron Druid Chronicles, I am trying to get caught up on The Dresden Files now and trying to stick to one urban fantasy at at a time since it gets a bit confusing reading a bunch of them at the same time, but I think that will be my next urban fantasy to get caught up on.

I'm currently reading London Falling and listening to Rise of Empire. Both are enjoyable and they are different enough to make it easy to swop from one to the other. I've gotten myself very confused in the past trying to follow books with similar stories :-)
My husband and I got a good haul from the thrift store. I found Dragons of Autumn Twilight for 75 cents. Tracy Hickman is a local writer (my husband's college roommates' cousin), so I might be able to get it signed at Comic Con.

It gets a lot better, I thought the same thing at first and stopped reading after the first book. I then read over and over that you need to read at least the first four books for it to get good and I gave it another shot. I'm quite happy that I did because I really like it, it becomes a lot bigger in scope with a lot more with the White Council and the faeries.

Nice, one of the first books that got me into fantasy books.

It's worth checking their bargain shelf once in a while ;-)

Then went to one of the big bookstores today and, because I hadn't spent enough on books this week, bought a first edition signed copy of Nevernight for... more than $8.75.... starting to think I've got a problem...
also, Fannie the Graveyard Book sounds awesome!
I got a good haul this week, ALL autographed:
I got Michael Vey 6, Fall of Hades, last night at the book launch party. It's not officially released until Tuesday, so BWA HA HA HA. This is one of my top favorite series.
At Comic Con, we got Space Eldritch (anthology), The Longest Con (a comedy horror set at a con), Paranoia (the author gave me a free copy when I had the first one of the series signed), and the steampunk set The Perilous Journey of the Not So Innocuous Girl and The Perilous Journey Of The Much Too Spontaneous Girl. (The author sold me the two at a discount at the end of the con when she didn't want to haul all her books back across the country.)

So excited. Just picked up Curtsies & Conspiracies hardcover for $1. (Brand new from a dollar store. I love it when I find brand new treasures for that cheap!)

I just bought Enemy of God which is book #2 of Bernard Cornwell's Warlord Trilogy. Really enjoying the first book and I got it and the third at a used book sale so needed the second to full it out.
I preordered the 10th anniversary edition of The Final Empire <3

Absolutely loved The Martian, not so much The Book Thief

Same here -- wasn't a big fan of The Book Thief.

Cogheart
Riverkeep
yes... I got them because of the amazing covers
I go to the library every week with the goal of returning more than I check out. (This doesn't happen often, though.) Today an author was there, and I've had his series on my TBR list for a while, I went ahead and got the two books, signed, for $30:
Insight and True Sight

Ha ha ha!
Yay my gorgeous copy of the final empire was ready and waiting for me when I arrived home from holiday <3
I found another author event last night, and I'm a sucker for signed books, so I got Fires of Invention and Gears of Revolution. Steampunk plus dragons. It has to be good, right?
I got the novelization of the recent Suicide Squad: The Official Movie Novelization movie.
1) because I'm a comic book geek
2) it's written by Marv Wolfman who is a legendary comic writer
3) it fits for part of a challenge I'm working on.

Audrey. LOL. I need the year to be about 3-4 years in length. Maybe my challenge should be to only read books I own already.

It's my birthday early October and I usual try not to buy books between then and xmas - except book club books and really great offers of course ;-)

I've tried limiting myself to not buying a book until I've read at least "x" amount of books I already own but I can't seem to manage even that.

I am one of those who really liked the first two books and couldn't wait for that third one.
