I haven't watched a game yet this year....I know, I know ~ shame on me,lol. Hubby says there looking good and D Rose was looking good in pre-season games. We'll see tonight - my sis in law gave us 4 tickets so we can take the kids - its gonna be fun!

Derek Rose put up 34 points this weekend. He looks GREAT!!!!
I guess he also wants to put the East on notice that he is back because the Bulls were really in a great place before he got hurt. I am sure his hunger in this year long absence grew, so he wants to re-establish himself as one of the premier guards in the league.
@Jenne: Fatherhood agrees with Dirk. He looks great...but I wish that Cuban did a better job attracting some help. Devon Harris isn't going to cut it, you know.
But I am happy to be able to wear the Devon Harris jersey because I gave it away to my mom after he was traded to the NJ Nets.
We still aren't strong enough to get out of the 1st round of NBA playoffs unless some big trade happens. and lets' face it, Donnie Nelson is no Mitch Kutpchak :(

Yes, I went with The Unknown Spy and I just finished it. I'll get my review up in a few minutes :)
Roll 5 - Space #21
The Unknown Spy by Eoin McNamee
Finished: 10/22
Rating: ★★ 1/2
REVIEW:
I knew going into The Unknown Spy that it was a second book in a series, so I was expecting not to get everything right away like I would had I read the first book. Besides a couple little things I don't think not reading the first book hurt. I have to say that I really didn't care for this book, but it's focused for a much younger audience so that's probably a big part of the reason that I didn't connect with it.
Bulls game last night was a blast. Derrick Rose was fabulous. I kept looking at my hubby - damn I don't remember him being that fast - he had some sweet moves!!>>Hubby may have been slightly mad at me as I read my book on the ride down to the stadium, lol! And the kids were on there iphones, too ☺
I finished my book this morning - will put up my review later tonight.
What channel is Sparticus on?? I'm wondering with all the talk if it is one we get? I need sexy thighs in my life dammit!!
Moving to Space #: 21Book Read: Dreaming of the Wolf by Terry Spear (published in 2011)
Date Finished: October 22
Rating: 4.75stars
REVIEW: Bounty Hunter Alicia Greiston may be in over her head trying to bring her mother's murderers in for justice. Luckily she meets alpha shifter Jake Silver and he's willing to do whatever it takes to keep Alicia safe and happy. There is just one tiny issue in their way. Alicia is human.
I really like the variety of the stories and the people in this series. The romance is hot and the action set piece of this installment are great. There was a small mystery here and I would term this read more a paranormal suspense or thriller than a standard paranormal romance. As usual, the story is strong and complete enough to be read as stand-alone but is part of a larger collection.
@Melissa: Starz on Directv. Ezi and I will be drooling for weeks. They are showing all 3 seasons a handful at a time. (so......sculpted) And glad you had a good time at the game.@Megan: Sorry it wasn't a great book for ya. Not easy to keep going with a boo that isn't right for you.
~Melissa~ wrote: "Nice job Megan! Sorry your book wasn't that good. Hate when that happens."Thanks :)
Pat wrote: "@Megan: Sorry it wasn't a great book for ya. Not easy to keep going with a book that isn't right for you. "
Thankfully it wasn't that long of a book :)
Bummer - I'm pretty sure we don't get Starz. I'll have to check my tv tonight when I get home, lol. Will have to see if I can get an old season on dvd from the library to check it out if I'm right about that channel.

It was a great game! How nice to be at the stadium :) Did you have nice seats?
Thanks! We actually have season tickets for 2 seats but we never get to go as a family. Usually hubby takes one of the kids. We got tickets from my sister in law. So nice of her ☺It was nice for all of us to be together. Although I think hubby was annoyed that our daughter wanted to play on her phone instead of watch the game, lol. I think she may appreciate looking at all those muscles on the court when she is a little older. I had to take her phone away from her. Sports is def not her thing. Basketball and hockey are the sports I love to watch either on tv or at the game. *ducking for cover* football is one of those I can take it or leave it - unless I'm at the game then I love it - could be I don't really understand the game as well as the other two. Baseball - I have to be at the game to even watch - I can't watch on tv at all.
That's really nice! I've been to see the Bulls and Sox (view spoiler), both games were enjoyable though it was so cold when I saw the Sox (brr!). I'd love to see a Blackhawks game in stadium someday - hockey is currently my favorite sport, but basketball is a close second. I feel kind of the same way about football, I know so many people love it but I really don't watch it unless some else in the family turns it on. I use to love watching baseball, but I haven't watched it for awhile now.
you guys are making me so homesick. I miss Chicago but I don't miss winter in Chicago. Melissa if you can't find Spartacus you'll just have to settle for basketball thighs
~Melissa~ wrote: "Thanks! We actually have season tickets for 2 seats but we never get to go as a family. Usually hubby takes one of the kids. We got tickets from my sister in law. So nice of her ☺It was nice for a..."
Basketball and football were always my favorites but if I watch one game I have to watch every game or fight with hubby every week. So I don't watch them. Or I sneak and watch on a different television on a different floor from him so I can change the channel before he can see that I'm watching.
I can't believe the four of us are Chicago people.
Like Pat said, I love the Chi, but I don't miss the winters.
@Megan, sorry for the sucky book. Is sucky a real word...maybe it's a porno word--which I wouldn't know since I don't watch that stuff:D
@Melissa: I saw Derek Rose on Sportscenter, you know he's got all the energy because his baby mama & fiance' Mekia just dumped him. He has frustrations to get off, so he is going to be balling hard.
I hope to get in a few Mavericks games with the kids this year. Love Dirk Nowitzki

@Pat: I emailed Starz to ask if the current Spartacus DVD's with extended/bonus scenes is the same thing as the UnCut Spartacus they will be showing.
Spartacus and Mira forever. Agron and Ezi and Nasir forever. Naevia and Crixus forever. Oneameous, Melitta & Gannicus & Saxa/Sybil...okay, I don't know how these 5 are going to work.
Barca and Petros kind of freaked me out first season.
Ok. Pat, i think later I will start a Spartacus discussion thread because I am getting hyped up right now

Megan, you have to watch Spartacus. Ummm, you aren't afraid of a little blood, gore and nudity, are you? LMAO

Hubby thought it was funny that a fight broke out on the ice and I jumped onto my seat to get a better view, lol It's not that I like the fight per se - it's that I want to make sure our guy is not getting beat! I'm all about our players! The next game was when our son was just a yr old. That was fun too! I'll have to see if we can get to a game this year.

I don't think I realized you had been from Chi-town Ezi. Pat I remember from a while ago being transplanted elsewhere.Yep - you're not missing the weather - that's for sure. I unfortunately married a guy who has no desire to move away from Mamma. Oh well - cold winters are in my future basically forever. Last night the walk to the stadium wasn't too bad. The walk back at the end - shocker it was windy, lol. At least it was early in the season and no snow.
Yep!

I can really tease since I'm done. I was born in Illinois Research (behind Cook County hospital) and the last place I lived there was the perfect apartment on 1816 Patricia Place in Dalton. Not only did it have my name on the street, my birthdate was in the address.
has anybody read Lorelei James Blacktop Cowboys series?
Ezinwanyi~For you, Agron wrote: "Megan, you have to watch Spartacus. Ummm, you aren't afraid of a little blood, gore and nudity, are you? LMAO"Blood and gore, no, but I try to stay away from nudity. So, good to know that this show has it. Too bad though, it sounded kind of interesting.

Review: Treat meets Eve when he is sent on a reconnaissance mission for his mother, who owns a neighboring teashop. His mom feels that Eve's new coffee shop is stealing her business.
Treat has a bad habit of falling for a damsel in distress and this one happens to be in a spectacular package with impractical high heeled shoes to top it off. He can't resist. Eve loves a bad boy and Treat with his long hair and muscular body fills the bill.
Enter Treat's mom the deal breaker. Her husband has died 8 yrs ago, several investments have lost money in recent years and her business is not doing well. She sets out to sabotage Eve's place thinking it will help hers. BTW - Treat never tells Eve who his mother is until it's too late.
Treat and Eve were great together. The mom I just didn't get at all and maybe it is because that is not how I would have dealt with my problem. Through out the whole book I could just tell she needed to ditch her old life with her dead husband and move on. For me she was the most frustrating part of the whole book. I don't understand why she thought ruining someone else would make her life better - instead of thinking maybe I should sell my business and the big house I owned with my husband. However, there are great secondary characters for future books. There is also a side romance as an older gentleman is attracted to Margaret which is kind of hilarious because she is such a b*tch to him just like she is to Eve.

Rolled a 3 - Moving to Space #: 21I read
Completed 10/22/13
4 stars
I always enjoy reading books that take place in other countries. This trilogy takes place in Ireland, which I have read many stories that deal with the lush and gorgeous landscapes. Unfortunately, this book did not go into much detail about the countryside. I did enjoy the plot and love Nora Roberts. This book is older so I’m not exactly sure how I missed it. This is the first book in the Concannon Sisters trilogy. It introduces two sisters and the third has not been discussed yet. However, this first book is setting the reader up for another plot that is insinuated at the beginning of the book.
The two Concannon sisters are different as night and day but in their own way love each other and life. Their father dies at the beginning of the book and the rest is devoted primarily to Maggie who is a glass artist. She is happy as a recluse blowing her glass and making incredible art work until Dublin gallery owner Rogan enters her life and wants to become her manager. He has seen her artwork and wants exclusive rights to sell any new pieces. Although Ms. Roberts does not fully describe Maggie, I envision her as a red headed Irish woman. She is very temperamental and feisty. She is not a meek woman looking for romance. While this book is lacking drama or twisted fate, the conflicts that Maggie and Rogan face are realistic and both are likeable in their own way. I am looking forward to reading book 2, which is about Maggie’s sister, Brianna.
Roll 5: Moving to Space #21:
Book & Author: Criss Cross (PsyCop, Book 2) by Jordan Castille Price (163 pages per Goodreads)
Date finished: 10/22
Rating & Review: ★★★
I don't know how I feel about this book. It was okay. I didn't enjoy it enough to want to continue the series anytime soon. PsyCop Detective Victor Bayne is trying to settle into his new relationship with Human with no special ability aka "Stiff" Detective Jacob Marks. But it seems like Vic pyschic abilities is getting more and more sensitive. In fact, Vic is causing Bodily Harm to Jacob. What is up with the dead getting so touchy-feely and why are there so many more of them...even in his apartment?
Lisa Guitterez, his old partner, keeps calling him and leaving cryptic messages about Vic being in danger, but Vic can't decipher the meaning. Who is after Vic and why?
the writing is good, but the story isn't that interesting. I actually wish they would bring Lisa back because I love her Si-No ability and I find her and Carolyn to be more interesting than Jacob and Vic. Plus, there wasn't enough Romance in this story to make me happy. So I can't say that i enjoyed this one that much.
