Se7en Deadly Sins (7)
Moving to Space #: 57Book Read: Turn and Burn by Lorelei James (5th in series)
Date Finished: November 17
Rating: 4 stars
Thumbnail Review: Two years have passed since the events of One Night Rodeo and Tanna has had a hard time of it up to and including an accident that ended both her career and her horse's. That's how a nice Texas girl ending up in Muddy Gap, Wyoming looking over the crop of cowboys and wanna be cowboys while licking her wounds. Enter Dr. Augustus ""Fletch"" Fletcher who seems to be able to cure what's ailing her most. Neither is looking for anything long term but after the best one night stand either has ever had, they are both ready to change their minds.
Tanna's looking for a place to call home but doesn't want charity and doesn't want temporary while Fletch is through with his empty home but only sees temporary on the horizon. Cameo's from the known Muddy Gap population add the comfort of visiting old friends as Tanna and Fletch begin their dance. One of the things to like here is that is girls and boys, not boys and girls and the girls are just as sexy and ready to take the reins the boys in Rough Riders!
This is a by the number's book for this author. Hot, steamy, maybe kinky sex? Check! Hot, sexy, willing & not so willing woman? Check? Hot, possessive, sexy man? Check! Likeable leads? Check! Cowboy Atmosphere? Check! Sit back and enjoy the read.

Book 7 in Stone Barrington series
Completed 11/19
3.5 Stars
This is the seventh book in the Stone Barrington series. Stone is a cop turned attorney/private investigator and could be easily categorized as a current James Bond. Women seem to come out of the woodwork and flock at Stone’s feet. In this installment, Stone is summoned from New York during the dead of winter to the nice exotic life of billionaire Thad Shames in sunny Panama City, FL. Thad met a mysterious woman at a party and hires Stone to find her. Stone quickly takes up residence in Thad’s 240 foot yard parked in the back of Thad’s house.
Low and behold, the woman is easily located strictly by coincidence and is a past lover of Stone’s – imagine that. Allison, aka Liz, was defended by Stone for a murder charge in “Dead in the Water”. Liz is in trouble again for insurance fraud, which he easily rectifies, but she also has a mysterious man following her who could be her ex. “dead” husband. In walks, Callie, Thad’s assistant who immediately has an attraction and a quickie with Stone.
The setting of this book was fun and spending time with life of the rich was even more appealing. However, for me, the book lacked any type of character formations with the women. There were so many different aspects of this story that it was basically a whose who list or who did whom. I did not see any real relationships or bonds formed with any of the women and Stone but yet all women were crazy about him. All in all, Cold Paradise was an easy and fast read. I will definitely continue with the series.

Book: Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas ( Book 5 of the Hathaways)
Date finished: 11/19
Rating & Review: ★★★★★
Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways, Book 5) by Lisa Kleypas
This series ending book features the youngest sister Beatrix, the animal loving klepto!
In this book, Beatrix is spending time with her friends Audrey and Prudence, when they learn Audrey’s Brother in law, Christopher Phelan, was being sent off to a way. Officer Chris asked the beautiful Prudence to correspond with him which she agreed to, though she had no intent of doing so. When Beatrix couldn’t convince Pru to answer Chris’ letters, Beatrix started writing to Chris, but as Pru because Beatrix knew that Chris didn’t like her. In fact, Chris had remarked to one of his friends that Bea belonged in stable with the rest of her farm animals. But always the compassionate person, Bea couldn’t erase the anguish she read in Chris’ letters to Pru, and Bea could see that Chris was trying to connect with something at home to keep him sane in all that chaos wrought by the war.
Soon, the friendship letters formed a big connection and the two fell in love over correspondence, but Beatrix knew that she wasn’t the sort of woman Christopher and his family would be proud to be attached to in society. The Hathaways were infamous due to their unconventional ways, ties to the Romany and just sheer eccentricity.
So Bea decided to stop writing Christ, and let him go as she believed he loved Prudence anyway. And Prudence, who didn’t want a simple officer, now wants Chris because his older brother died, leaving him the earldom. So when Christopher returns from war, he is faced with a choice, Prudence or Beatrix. Whom will best fit his life and his needs now?
Beatrix is bold, she is compassionate and she is observant. She was willing to give hope to man who disparaged her to others just because she understood that war changes a man’s psyche. At the same time, she kept her promise to Prudence, who showed time and time again what a shallow and unfriendly person she truly was. I loved Beatrix and Christopher together. They were magic and the chemistry was amazing. I am in awe at how Lisa Kleypas was able to make each heroine different and their journey’s to love different. One thing the Hathaway ladies all had in common was their intelligence and worldliness. They are smart, fun and accepting. Bea was no exception. I loved her touch with the dogs too.
I am truly sad this series is over.

REVIEW:
Love Finds You in Prince Edward Island, Canada was a fun and entertaining read. There were some slow parts, a lot of descriptions and internal thoughts and little dialogue between the characters, but the rest of the story was greatly enjoyable.
Ever since I first heard about P.E.I., from Anne of Green Gables, I knew it was a place I would someday love to visit and this book continues that desire. I love reading about the different locations, they all sounded very beautiful.
I haven't read many books in the Love Finds You series, but I hope to read more of them. If this book sounds interesting to you I would recommend you read it, as I found it very enjoyable.
I rolled the die and it was a 2. So we are on space 59 and have to read a book that's #5, #9, or #59 in a series or the alternate item: Blue cover, must be at least 50%Team 7 - Se7en Deadly Sins

I'm going to read
for the alternate cover blue. I need this for another challenge. It looks like it is 50% blue but let me know what you think.
I posted this in the discussion thread but figured I ought to post it with each team too. Here's the Thanksgiving schedule:
We'll roll this Thursday and reviews will be due on Sunday like we've been doing.
We'll roll Sunday and then have until the following Sunday the 1st till those are due. And then it'll be back to normal. Based on the board positions I don't think we'll go much more than a couple or a few rolls after Thanksgiving at the most.
If anyone is going out of town this weekend, anyone that won't have time to read and review next week please say so on your team's thread. I'll be on the lookout for anyone's post. If you don't think you'll be able to read just let your team know and you'll be exempt/given a pass etc. without slowing down the team.

Book choice: The Untamed Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley (Book 5.5 of Highland Pleasures)
Read: 11/21
Rating & Review: ★★★1/2.
This was Inspector Lloyd Fellow and Lady Louisa Scranton's HEA.
Ins. Fellow is the illegimate MacKenzie and Louisa is the younger sister of Isabella MacKenzie (Cameron's wife). Lloyd met Louisa at a MacKenzie function a year ago and they even shared a kiss under the misletoe, and since then they have both been harbouring strong feelings for the other.
If you remember Isabella & Louisa's dad had been involved in investor fraud really similar to Bernie Madoffs. He takes money from the ton, pretends to have invested it, when he gets new sign-ups, he gives that money to the first investors as their returns etc.
After all, he couldn't keep up the ponzi scheme and he was discovered. Of course it ruined the family's name as he couldn't pay back all the money he took. Debtors were hounding his family and of course, he dies.
Louisa's marriage prospects are bleak as her family name is in tatters, and she has no dowry. Along comes the Bishop of Hargate, proposing marriage to Louisa. While Louisa's heart belongs to Lloyd, Bishop of Hargate promises to forgive the debt owed to him by the Scranton family and to make sure the vile rumors about the family ceases. While Louisa is debating his proposal, the Bishop drops dead right in front of her...a victim of poison. Louisa is of course the chief suspect and the Bishops family demands justice immediate.
It's up to Inspector Lloyd Fellows to solve this crime...but is he too close to objective and unbiased? How far would he go to protect the woman he loves?
I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the one prior book with Elliot and Julianne.
I have always had a fondness for Lloyd as his upbringing was so woeful. I am glad that the MacKenzies continue to rally around him and that he was able to both solve the crime and get his lady. It was a good read and I look forward to having Lloyd more involved in his family's affairs.

I really enjoyed Grave Mercy on audio. It's a YA that didn't quite feel like a YA. It's more like a New Adult assassin book.

Grave Mercy goes by fast. i finished it in 2-3 days on audio. You won't feel every page like Damien & Noah
Pat put me on that Jennifer Ashley Series for 2014.
AS soon as I get my Dusty Series challenge together for 2014, it will be on my list. Still finalizing format, but the goal is for people to finish the entire series (or at least read 2-3 books in that series) for the month.

Yes, Pat and I had discussed working on closing out series we began. Currently, I have 65 series that I have begun and still have books to finish. I found that when I went a long time before coming back to a particular series (specifically IAD) I was so confused.
So now, I want to try and finish out series some of those series.
So we were working on challenges that would require us to close out series or at least read books that are not book 1. Once I get it figured out, I will let you know.
But the series that I only have 1 more book to go (book 6, which came out a couple of weeks ago)

WOW! That's a lot of series. I was keeping all of my series on a spreadsheet but am now using fictfact.com. It is so much easier but I keep finding more series, and I need to knock off some of my older ones before I start- if that is possible!
Highland Pleasures is on my radar for early next year.
I finished Grave Mercy - started last night when I was looking for something to read. Debbie is an engaging read. Your right Ezi it didn't feel YA.Unless you wanna buddy read it Debbie, I'm gonna start that series soon.
Have no fear Ezi I still have a lot of series I can work on- I just have very few that I've started, plan to continue an have left standing now. I'm down to like 5 that I have to read one book for to be caught up. I'm celebrating that victory cuz that's was my plan this year and I've done it! yay me!
