There but by the grace of God did I finish this book. It was utterly boring and confusing. I don't know how you can be boring and confusing at the same time but boy did the author excel at that. There were literally about 6 scenes throughout the entire book. The opening act of Cassie running for her life. The second act of Cassie running for her life. The third act of Cassie running for her life. Time travel or body snatching to mix it up a little in the fourth scene. Useless, random conversation and info dumps throughout. Confusion and mistrust (this reader has been confused the entire time) in the fifth scene. And 6. Fin. Yep I didn't like this one. Can't say I'm much inclined to continue the series either. Way too many others to take care of at this point.

Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Um, I guess I should use other words. :-( The first Dakota Cassidy book I didn't enjoy much. It was supposed to be funny I assume, since all her other books are, but it fell flat with me. Characters were blah. Storyline was blah (AND predictable). Even the romance was blah. The resolution was at least slightly surprising. There appeared to be a set-up for a potential sequel that has never come (this book being 5 years old and all).

lol! I feel sorry for series I start now and don't like because I've started so many at this point that I can't linger with one that doesn't immediately pull me in.

I'll be reading

4.5 stars!
I really enjoyed this read! Dirty talk. Smexiness galore. Hero with a dark past. Heroine with an emotional past. Finally a heroine doesn't sound like a watered down Taryn from Feral Sins. Finally a hero is not a carbon copy of Trey from Feral Sins.
I loved Roni! She was awesome. She even corralled Greta and to readers of this series you know that means a lot. It was hilarious the way everyone was reacting to how well Greta treated Roni. I love that she was straight forward, smart as hell and still extremely kickass!
Marcus was a dirt talking mother....shut yo mouth. Boy!!!!! That was entertaining to say the least. I also liked the backstory of his parents, it was different and unique.
This book revitalizes my faith in this series because I have to be honest it waned with books 2 and 3.

Ive been on the list for this one for weeks & Im next in line for it...yeah!!! talk about perfect timing....

Major book slump happening here. I can't find enjoyment in anything lately. Is it me? Or the books I'm picking? Whatever the case may be, I almost gave this 3 stars, cuz it wasn't that bad. It's been ages since I read the previous book in the series, so I don't remember how it ended. So this one picking up, seemingly in the middle of a plotline, may actually be a continuation of a story that started in the previous book. But, since it's been so long since I read book 2, all this did was leave me completely and totally confused for a lot of the book.
I will say, one thing these books lack is physical descriptions. Other then Jaz having red hair (or dyed black hair in this book, since they are undercover in the middle east), I have no idea what any other character looks like. Maybe I missed it, but I seem to recall the same issue in the first two books.
Anyway, confusion for most of the book equals a 2 star from me. Perhaps later I'll reread the series in quick succession to see if that improves things.

Gonna go pick a cat shifter book now.

I really enjoyed the 2nd book in the series. It's very much pretty current with the Pop culture. The books are chalked full of TV show mentions along with movies of all varieties. The books are a cozy mystery so there is always a murder to be solved & the cast of characters are very real. Looking forward to reading the 3rd in the series soon......

Berit what an exciting time!!!

This book started with a big bang and just kept going after that! There were no lulls in action. Literally first chapter the Son of Darkness and escapes and we spend the rest of the book pursuing him, uncovering vampire politics and intrigue as usual, as well as connecting some plot lines like the witch convening and bringing us closer to the European vamp council's arrival.
Jane is a character that I root for, who I believe is capable but she still has some really annoying moments. I can't tell if Jane feels a great responsibility for the people around her, suffers from Munchasen's by proxy or is just a selfish person. No matter the situation, she can make it about her and her guilt and what she didn't do correctly. Her psyche is very odd to me. Her relationships are odd too. She proclaims to love someone or call them a friend and yet she may be in the next scene considering attacking that same person. For instance, the conversation with Eli about the government monitoring her. Jane is an odd bird. Beast as usual was a treat. Her witty one liners make me laugh a little. Jane has an odd sense of humor that I don't understand. She "titters" at the most inappropriate moments and it makes her come off as weird/creepy. And the times that I think a normal person would actually laugh, she doesn't acknowledge the witty banter. I don't get it.
Well with this book read, I'm all caught up on the series and now I think I'll take a nice long break from Jane and gang. Overall it's an okay series but there are those that I definitely like more.

This is a re-read for me, except this time around I listened to the audiobook. It's just as good the second time around. Good start to a series, some world building and learning about what's what in Harry Dresden's magical universe. It's interesting going back and meeting the characters that I've come to know again.
The narrator was James Marsters, aka Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and I totally admit that this is the reason I bought the book in the first place. :-) I admit he read Harry as a lot more soft-spoken than I imagined, but it ended up working pretty well. Only other issues were production issues/poor editing/bad audio copy(?), such as background white noise, oddly long gaps in the same sentence, and you could hear the narrator's mouth opening and shutting (the wet smacking noise you hear when you open and shut your mouth, gross I know).

This was another fantastic book in the Immortals After Dark series. I seriously don't understand how these books stay so good and so fresh. Every story and couple is unique. And we see a new type of immortal in this book (berserkers) along with some new characters/possible future book heroes and heroines.
Declan was not one of my favorite IAD heroes, simply because he was so bad to begin with and I have a little trouble forgiving him completely for that. But I do enjoy Regin. One thing I like about this series is that the females are just as bad-ass as the males.
I can't wait for Lothaire's book. I really need to know what makes this guy tick. LOL

OMG!! What can I say about this series that hasnt already been said. Not Much. I loved this one. Kate & Curran & this time Julie even gets thrown into the mix of things. Even Kate's Dad makes a very large appearance. I could not get enough of His Furriness. His genuine love & over all protectiveness of his "family" was so enduring. I definitely cant wait until the next book because I do believe its going to be a douzy....

So many people warned me that this was just a set up for the rest of the series, and the series only gets better after this book. So, I think I like this book a lot more than I thought I was going to. Yes, the The beginning of this book had a lot of information, and I was confused, but I journeyed on and the ending was really, really good. Now I have even another series to put on my ever-growing list of series to finish. Maybe I should go out to dinner with Kate and Charlie, wouldn't that be fun!
