Brainsgirl you're not alone with changing your mind. This month I decided not to post my books until after I've read them. I've changed a handful of books in the Men we Love challenge and I know I'll change at least one more book. I have to be in the mood to read a particular book, if not I don't enjoy the story as much.

The challenges help when I'm stumped for what to read, but I still have to be in the mood for it. And some I want to read just don't seem to fit. A book I read had the main male character (a teenage boy as its a YA book) who had a job as a swimming instructor at the park. Wondering if I can stretch that far enough to fit the "teacher" category. lol
I'm like that too, Brainsgirl and Nikki. I read by my mood, so at the beginning of a challenge I make a list of all the books on my TBR list that fit each category, then read whichever one of them I'm in the mood for when the time comes. I never fill them in here until after I've actually read them, otherwise I'd probably be constantly changing them around. I love the challenges, but I guess I'm a bit of a free-spirit who can't be boxed in too much.:-)
So far I finished 2 books: Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead. I found it a fun read, and I had an "aw shucks" moment at the end of the book when I read that little dedication from the male lead. Just too cute for me. Will definitely continue to read more about Georgina and her adventures.
With this Ring by Amanda Quick. Again another solid story from Amanda Quick and did not fail to disappoint me. I always enjoy her quirky heroines and her less-than-perfect heroes.
Started Zen and the Art of Vampires by Katie Macalister. This is not the first book of her Dark Ones series, but I needed a book that starts with "Z". Too early to say anything.
Still listening to Paolini's Eldest. Wow, there are 20 discs and I just started disc 6. It will take me a while to finish this audiobook.
As before I am TOTALLY falling in love with this series. I am glad I finally picked up Last Wolf Standing b/c Last Wolf Watching is even better!
I finally started the BDB series while on vacation. OMG I LOVE these books. This is some of the best stuff I have ever read!
Starting Finding Forrester by James Ellison for my E book/author for read the month June. Since it said "Now a major motion picture starring Sean Connery" I thought the movie was based on the book til I discovered in fine print.... Based on a screenplay written by.... Oh well. Loved the movie.
Working on Dime Store Magic by Kelley Armstrong. Listening to Mistral's Kiss by Laurell K. Hamilton.
Briansgirl wrote: "Starting Finding Forrester by James Ellison for my E book/author for read the month June. For some reason making a movie out of a book is perfectly acceptable (even a really good idea sometimes), but the reverse is pure sacrilege. It's just wrong.
But that was a very good movie. :)
Yeah, I normally hate books made from screenplays. But when looking for an E book, this caught my eye. I'll start it and if it's terrible, will just watch the movie instead. lol (Then, of course, have to go find another E book/author)
Just started Mine to Possess, one of the books in my PNR group challenge. I'm having a hard time getting started on those books because of all the good M/M series I've started lately. I want to continue reading those! Oh well. It's good not to get stuck in a rut.
I finished Red Fire. Loved it! it had it twists and you knew something was going on but you did't know what I like that. I hate figuring it out in the first couple chapters.
Lori wrote: "Just started Mine to Possess, one of the books in my PNR group challenge. I really want to read the next one but I just have so many other books fighting for world dominance in my room. It's gonna be at least 2-3 weeks before I get to it.
I looooove Nalini Singh :o) She's so cool! Every time I finish one of her books I almost cry because it's another whole year until the next one LOLAm reading not very much in the last couple of days. Did read Alexandra Ivy's latest-ish one and ok everytime I read a vampire book I realise how much I want one of my very own :-)
In the way of m/m fiction am reading - although very half-assedly - The Officer and the Gentleman by J.P. Bowie. It's good but I can't settle into it so read a bit, leave it, go back etc. Also doing the same with Shady Ridge and the Neon Sky by Chris Owen. Re-read Secrets, Skin and Leather by Sean Michael because I really liked it first time around. And second. Might go for a third in a few months :o)
I am reading Betrayed by PC Cast & company and Eve by Elissa Elloitt. I just finish Dark Lover by JR Ward and I could not put that book down. It was great. I can wait to read the next one in the series.Dark Lover
Currently not reading what I'm supposed to be reading. Still reading Mine to Posses but made the mistake of starting The Englor Affair thinking I could just read a little each day at lunch and then go back to my challenge books at night. Yea right! Nope, gotta keep reading it now until I finish it. I should know better.
I'm reading Gossamyr by Michele Hauf, almost done. It is fantasy and very good, full of magic and fairies and danger. Not sure what I will start next, so many on my to read pile lol....
Once again I've been side tracked from reading a challenge book. Reading Hot Cargo which was irresistible to me since it's sci-fi gay romance, one of my all time favorite genres. It was calling my name from the bookshelf and I just couldn't help myself.
waiting for my amazon order to come in, so I quess I will have to read one from my to read pile lol... I'm starting The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn.
While waiting for books 3,4, and 5 of The Black Dagger Brotherhood to arrive, I'm reading different books in different places. The Other Woman by Jane Green is in the utility room (that's where i smoke), Rachel's Holiday is in the bedroom, Wicked is in the living room and there's a text book and The Loop in the tack room.
How's the The Other Woman Karyn? Any fun? Do you think it could be used for the june monthly challenge (wedding category)?

I don't usually read Silhouet..."Shazzy: I don't ever remember reading a Sil. Noc. book. If I did, it was not as good as this series/author. I am waiting to get #3 as well. I want to read more by Rhyannon Byrd. I truly am glad I gave it a try. Now I am looking forward to more Nocturne titles!
Stephanie wrote: "I finally started the BDB series while on vacation. OMG I LOVE these books. This is some of the best stuff I have ever read!"Stephanie: After pulling Dark Lover off my unfinished shelf and actually finished it, lol, I loved the books in the series I have read as well. It is a well written series. I love the characters.
Despite not being overly impressed with the Dark-Hunter book I just finished, Night Embrace, I decided to continue on with the series right away. I started Dance With The Devil last night. I blame it all on Zarek for being so darned intriguing.;-) Obviously he must have really gotten my attention, because I broke two of my own reading rules (not reading another book right away by an author who didn't wow me, and always reading series in order) just to read his book. So far, so good, but I'm only 27 pages into it.
I'm just starting Cindy Gerard's Show No Mercy. I don't remember if I've read her before but it sounds interesting and is the first book in the series.
Julie: I did love Zarek's story the first time I read it. Glad you decided to read it. Hope you like it.
Kenjii: I'm now 87 pages into Dance with the Devil, and I'm definitely liking it much better than the last one. If it keeps this up, it should be a winner.:-)
Julie, you're making me wonder if I should give the Dark Hunters another chance. I read the first three (well actually I didn't quite make it to the end of Night Embrace) and decided it was not for me and I would never read another. But I hear so much about Zarek I just wonder...I finally got around to starting Decadent by Shayla Black, the "sequel" to Wicked Ties which I read back in February. This book has been sitting on my windowsill for months. I'm about 100 pages in, and it's every bit as steamy as I would have expected.
I read a bit of Paul's Dream this AM. I really do enjoy her mix of incubus, wizards, and other magical creatures in a contemporary world. Def makes me want to pick up another story by her.
Julie: The DH series is a fave for me. Some I liked better than others. Keep posting your thoughts. It is interesting to see when people see the total opposite of what I really enjoyed. Nichole: I've had Paul's Dream on my wait list for ages. wow! glad I finally am reading it now =D.
Nichole & Kenjii, here's my quick take on the DH books I've read so far:1. Fantasy Lover - Loved it.
2. Dragonswan - Pretty good, but I thought it needed to be longer.
3. Night Pleasures - Pretty good, but IMO there were a few too many corny one-liners and it could have used a little more character development.
4. Night Embrace - Way too many characters and plot lines to follow. The hero and heroine got short-changed. Acheron and Zarek were really what kept me reading.
5. Phantom Lover - Temporarily skipped it to get to Zarek's story faster.:-)
6. Dance with the Devil - I think the reason I'm liking this one better so far is that there is more character development. Where I'm at in the story, it has mostly just been the hero, the heroine and her wolf who she can communicate with psychically. This makes it a lot easier to get to know them.
I hope this helps in making your decision whether to continue the DH series, Nichole.
Julie: I am re-reading the series and will see if I see what you see. Hehe. Does that make sense? I just visited Rowan McBride's site, stories page and found out she is working on a sequel to Paul's Dream called Asher's Magic. Yum! She is renewing my interest in PNR again.
Yeah, it does Kenjii. I like to read other people's reviews after I finish a book to see if anyone felt the same way I did about it, good or bad. There have also been quite a few times I've run across reviewers who had a different take on things, but I could see where they had a good point, maybe it just didn't bother me in the same way.
Kenjii wrote: "I read a bit of Paul's Dream this AM. I really do enjoy her mix of incubus, wizards, and other magical creatures in a contemporary world. Def makes me want to pick up another story b..."This one is on my list as well as 3 of her other books. I'm looking forward to this author.
Lori: I am just sad I waited so long to read her. I have had Paul's Dream on my TBR pile for quite some time.
I finished The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn and loved it. I also read The Perfect Kiss by Anne Gracie, it was just OK and I'm now reading For All Eternity by Linda Lael Miller; the last two are for the A-Z challenge. Got the Perfect Posion by Amanda Quick in the mail and can't wait to start it, I love her books.
Just started When Twilight Burns by Colleen Gleason. It's the 4th book in the series and I am reminded how much I love these books!
It voided me from another challenge but I went ahead and bought Str8te Boys by Evangeline Anderson b/c I have no resistance what-so-ever when it comes to her m/m romances. I LOVE her male characters and how much story she can tell in less than 100 pages.
BN.com is having a mega clearance sale. I was wondering if anyone here has read the Sons of Destiny series by Jean Johnson. Looks good. Strictly drawing from the cover of course =P.
I've read all of the Sons of Destiny series. I was attracted to the covers (hello, half-naked men, what's not to like?!). started the series part way through about 3 yrs ago and then had to go back and read the first few, then caught up and had to play the yearly waiting game for each new novel to come out. Series finished now. Didn't enjoy ALL of them but certainly liked most.
Kenjii wrote: "I read a bit of Paul's Dream this AM. I really do enjoy her mix of incubus, wizards, and other magical creatures in a contemporary world. Def makes me want to pick up another story b..."Danielle pointed me in the direction of Paul's Dream by Rowan McBride so as soon as I've finished Court Appointed A Serving Love Story by Annmarie McKenna, Trash Sex Magic by Jennifer Stevenson then I can start in on Paul's Dream. Looking forward to it!
Started Trash Sex Magic this morning and so far enjoying it. Yay!
