Ann A (readerann) Dee asked me to put up the summary thread, as she is participating in a triathlon today (go, Dee!)

Did you meet your goals? How many books/pages/hours did you read? What were your favorite books?

Ann A (readerann) Here is my summary:

Books started earlier and finished during the RAT:
It
Quo Vadis
Awakenings
The Lost Art of Gratitude

Still in progress:
Devil's Trill
Great American Speeches
A Bend in the River

Total pages read : 1007

My goal was to finish the 5 books I had started earlier, and I did finish 4, so I'm fairly happy with that. Awakenings was very interesting, and The Lost Art of Gratitude was a pleasant read (as A.M. Smith's novels always are) - can't say I LOVED any of the books I read this week.

Great job, everyone!

Anne | 274 comments I did meet my goals. I got 6 books completed, and I have a real possibility of finishing another yet today (only about 200 pages left out of around 780). The best book I completed was Shades of Grey, which is a really odd dystopian novel that reminded me at times of a mixture of The Giver, Brave New World, and 1984, yet it was still original somehow. Dombey & Son is a really well-written and interesting book, but I can't quite say I loved it. It was definitely worth reading, though, and I'm glad I finally finished it. It's around 1000 pages long, so I've been reading it for a long time. I am also enjoying The Gathering Storm a lot.

Summary:

Books finished: 6 (2 were begun before the readathon)
Still in progress: 3
Hours read: about 23
Hours listened: 16
Pages read: 1503

Bec (foreverfnm) | 40 comments Well, I certainly did a lot better than I was planning, my goal was to read five books during the read-a-thon, including one classic, Carmilla and one nonfiction, Immediate Action. I managed to read 7 books. I also read all of the books that were on my list. I've never read this much in a week before, a good reading week is usually finishing 3 books, not 7! I think it came from having two very interesting series to read.

My favourite book would have to have been Trophy Hunt. My least favourite Immediate Action, it could have been a great book if it was 200 pages shorter.

Completed reads:

Pay Off 240
Carmilla 115
Ultimate Weapon 506
Force Of Nature 385
Immediate Action 512
Trophy Hunt 352
Dead and Gone 312

Total pages read - 2422

Nancy H | 561 comments I read over 2,000 pages (my page goal) and I finished 6 books and have two in progress, as well as two e-books that I didn't even mention because I literally just started them, with a few pages in each. My BIG accomplishment, however, was that I finished a 800+ page book that has been lingering on my TBR stack since I first picked it up back in May! It turned out to be really good, so I don't know why I waited but this RAT was just the push I needed to get back to it. Overall I am very satisfied with this RAT, and am looking forward to the next one!

Total pages during RAT: 2,082

Books finished:
In Like Flynn
The Summer Book
Texas Two Step
The Potato Factory
Come Fly With Me
The Paris Wife

Books in progress:
Just In Time
The Tao of Martha: My Year of LIVING; Or, Why I'm Never Getting All That Glitter Off of the Dog

Yes, I really, really liked it once I got into it. I thought it started out a bit slowly, but then when I got into it, I couldn't stop reading it. When I posted my review on here, I also discovered that there are two sequels, which I will definitely be reading. (although I have some other stuff to read first before I get into another long one!)
