Picked for — Stephanie
Picked by — V Audio Nerd

Thanks for the great picks V Audio Nerd!!!

Arrow's Hell — ★★★★★ 8/3
Arrow...oh my...I am so glad I finally got to read his story! His is such a gritty, tragic story. I also love Anna! She is a sassy, spitfire and a perfect match for Arrow. Getting to know more about Rake was also fun! The Wind Dragon's were the second MC book I read....I fell in love with my first MC boys (the Reaper's) and I feel in love with my second MC boys, as well! Can't...wait...for...Tracker's...book!

Zack — ★★★★ 8/8
Oh how I love my Cold Fury boys! Zack's story actually began at the end of Garrett's book. My heart hurt terribly for him following the accident that killed his girlfriend and left him injured. I have to say though, my heart didn't hurt too much seeing him be a total jerk to Kate! I totally get he was grieving, but man...he would say how selfish he was and he pulled that off to perfection! Then there was Kate...I think a little too much hero worship and too little common sense played into how long she put up with his crap. I loved seeing a little bit of Sutton and Alex! Sutton is such a doll! Over all, I enjoyed this book, but the characters kind of bugged me.

Arrow's Hell (Wind Dragons MC, #2) by Chantal Fernando Zack (Cold Fury Hockey, #3) by Sawyer Bennett

Minerva (minervaclaire) A Ghost of a Chance by Josh Lanyon I'm a huge Josh Lanyon fan. This book was great. I only wish it were longer so the romance could have been fleshed out a little more.

Snowtulip Krissy!

Thanks for picking Kyland by Mia Sheridan Healing Hunter's Heart (A Little Bite of Love, #2) by Charlie Cochet

I've finished both of them and really loved them both, thanks!!

message 256: by ☀Rachael☀ (new)

☀Rachael☀ (jimbunni) Well this Enchanted, Inc. (Enchanted, Inc., #1) by Shanna Swendson was an awesome start to anew series! Katie is fun and can hold her own! And the funky cast is good too! 4*'s from me!

Also finished To Dance With the Devil (Blood Singer, #6) by Cat Adams I really like Celia and her gang! 4*'s from me! Is there more? I don't know!

Kay (Brigidsmomma) Compton (brigidsmomma) | 565 comments Finished my 2nd book, Summer Shadows by Killarney Traynor , and was it ever good! 5 Stars or even 6! Really makes up for the other book that I really didn't enjoy. Thanks again, Shy the Widowmaker!

Dani (dani_duda25) | 36 comments I read my 2nd book, The First Wife by Erica Spindler . This book was good. It had lots of mystery but I didn't like the main character very much. I gave it 3.5 stars.

message 260: by Vernice (last edited Aug 14, 2015 02:04PM) (new)

Vernice (fictionfantastic) I finished I Am Legend by Richard Matheson ... was kind of underwhelmed by it, but it's still a great book. Robert has some serious anger and booze issues, but who can really blame him though.

Louise | 1600 comments I finished Connections by Sheila O'Flanagan
I really enjoyed this book, took it camping with me last weekend. Even though it was a book of short stories each one was linked and shows you never really know what goes on when you're on holiday.

I'm hoping to start my other pick this week.

I finished both books.

Ten Simple Tips for Surviving the Apocalypse by Cari Z. ★★★★★ I loved it! I think this is my favorite LOR so far.

Paris A to Z (Coda Books, #5) by Marie Sexton ★★★★ I'm not sure why I stopped reading this series. I especially liked the varying view points in this books. I think one thing about this eries that bothered me was Zach's character. The Zach in book 2 does not the same as the Zach in books 3 & 5.

THanks for these picks

VampAmber | 622 comments Started 7 Dirty Words: The Life and Crimes of George Carlin last night. Not even two chapters in, and already I've learned that even as a kid/teenager, George Carlin was made of awesome and win.

message 264: by ⚜️XAR (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Ugh, I haven't posted at all this month! I've read several books off my shelf this month. At the end of July, I managed to squeeze in The Revealing which wasn't all that great and left me with too many unanswered questions. Then, for August, I read Double Dare, which was an amazing and emotional read for me. I also read A Different Kind of Cosplay, which was steamy, and awesome, so much so that I begged my husband to read it and all he reads is Sci-Fi, and rarely at that! I also got to read Alone, which was slightly disappointing, but still a decent installment in the series. Then, a couple of days ago, I sat down and read my other pick, A Love Forbidden. I didn't like it much, and thought the first book was much better. I'm hoping to have The Last Bride picked for next month's DB read, but if it isn't, I'm planning on tacking it on to the end of this month.

I'm glad you enjoyed them - I still need to get to the apocalypse LOR book. We've been watching The Walking Dead series and have just finished season 4. So the book should fit in. Maybe I'll read it on our drive home tomorrow.

Minerva (minervaclaire) Public Display of Everything by Cara Dee 4 stars
A very sweet low angst story. Cody was a little on the immature side for his age and I found it particularly annoying but otherwise I enjoyed the book. Looking forward to Luke's story.

Truth & Tenderness (Faith, Love, & Devotion, #6) by Tere Michaels was a wonderful ending to the series. I didn't want it to end!! I gave it 5 stars.
Mannies Incorporated (Mannies Incorporated, #1) by Sean Michael was a great start to a series and I gave it 4 stars. Thanks again for the great picks!!

Colleen, I finished up my second pick of Redemption by Fire (By Fire, #1) by Andrew Grey - I liked it but it was sort of choppy since it wasn't that long of a book. I'm hoping book 2 in series will be better. Thanks for getting it off my tbr pile :)

message 274: by Louise (new)

Louise | 1600 comments Finished my 2nd pick Damsel in Distress (Daisy Dalrymple, #5) by Carola Dunn . This felt a bit like The Famous Five meets Agatha Christie wih 1920's high society thrown in. Quite amusing for a mystery.

Murder Hooks a Mermaid (A Haunted Souvenir Shop Mystery #2) by Christy Fifield

message 276: by Emma Ruth (new)

Emma Ruth (inevitablyannoying) I read Blood Captain (Vampirates, #3) by Justin Somper this month.

It's been over a year since I read the last book so it was a bit bumpy to start, as I had to figure out what in the world was going on. But I really enjoyed it. 4 stars.

Now I just need to find the time to read the rest of the series. Thanks for the pick Donna! :)

I finished Cinder and really liked it! I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I have a hold on the eBook from my library for Legend, so I'm not sure if I'll finish it by the end of month or not - will get to it soon though.

Thanks for pushing me to read Cinder, Paris. :)

VampAmber | 622 comments So, I finished my first pick, 7 Dirty Words The Life and Crimes of George Carlin by James Sullivan , last night. 5 stars alllllll the way. I didn't actually know a lot of that stuff about his childhood and comedy beginnings, since I'd only seen his stand up specials (and the show he had on Fox when I was 9). So freaking interesting. I suggest it to anybody who is a fan of his work.

Doubt I'll get to my other pick, Stardust by Neil Gaiman , before Tuesday. Might try though, because I watched the movie a month or so ago and adored it.

Lou~❧Powerless Over 1-Click❧ | 1753 comments Ashley, I read Rock Solid (Rock Solid Construction #1) by Riley Hart on 8/5, and I finished On the Clock (Market Garden, #8) by L.A. Witt today. I enjoyed both. Thanks for giving me the the incentive to blow off the dust.

VampAmber | 622 comments Finished my second pick, Stardust by Neil Gaiman , early this morning (I think it was about 1:30am). But, I'm terribly lazy, so I'm just cutting and pasting my review. ^_^

I think I messed up when I read this. I made the mistake of watching the movie first, which made the book pale in comparison. Some of my favorite parts from the movie weren't even in the book. That, and the ending just falls way too flat, after having seen just how awesome this story could have been (though even if I hadn't, the ending still would've been fairly flat because holy crap anticlimax). Still a really good read, just disappointing after having seen the movie. 4.5 stars.

Lou. I didn't know you were going to read Rock Solid, or we could have BR'd it. I really liked it!!!
Did you?

On the clock, I also read and was bored. Did you see my review for on the Clock?

Yes, I really enjoyed Rock Solid, and I'm glad you did too as I believe Riley Hart had been disappointing you lately. As for Clock, well, let's say I feel like out of loyalty to the series, I rated it higher than it deserved. Something has changed...don't know whether it's me and it takes more to grab me and keep my attention or whether it's because the series keeps repeating the same formula. Let's just say Market Garden has been removed from my autobuy list, and I don't feel the need for a return engagement.

Agreed on Market garden unless it's a Frank story

message 284: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1862 comments Debbie (Doc), I finished both of my books this month.

The Singer (Irin Chronicles, #2) by Elizabeth Hunter -4*, I enjoyed this but not as much as the first one. It was probably because the shiny was gone :) I think the next one will be really good though.

The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen - 3.5*, This was really cute and would have been a 4* read except I think Sawyer needed to do some groveling. I needed some heartfelt begging, lol. Still, it was enjoyable and I'm glad to have finally read it!

Thank you so much!
