Hannah Breitenfeldt I don't think I would want to be in The Selection because it would be weird having cameras following you all around. It would also be scary being in a palace constantly under attack. I think it would be also kind of awkward at first because you are expected to just fall in love with someone you don't even know. It would also be weird leaving because everyone would know that you lost the selection.

Miriam Thinking of The Selection as a YA version of The Bachelor, I would shudder at the thought of being in The Selection, no matter how much I loved the book.

Charlotte I would want to be in the selection but i think of myself representing America because i not like all girls who fight over the crown, plus it could be a cool expirence

Ilana to be completely honest, i'm one of those people that's #1 competitive, #2, a hopeless romantic and #3 a person who wants to make an impact in the world. with all this being said, i think that i would consider being part of the selection - i mean - you get the opportunity to try your hand at love and if things work out as they should, you could better your life and hopefully that of others.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't make it in. So no. :(

Ilana I agree with you, for those reasons I would want to be in it as well.

Night It is a chance at a better life.

Fonni Sinder I would. I mean, it's the experience of a lifetime, and a chance at a better life, and we only get one life, so we should live it to its fullest! That includes competing in the selection"

Sierra Franklin Power, Money, Status, & Good Looks....
if that was on the top of my list for love, then I would be all in for it. But its not, so I wouldn't even consider it.

We KNOW Maxon. We KNOW he is a good guy buy you'll be going in not knowing. All you will know is that he has Power, Money, Status, & Good Looks.... So you're going to compete for the love and affection of a complete stranger. A stranger who have a dozen other girls willin to one up each other to get at him. It's not about who you are...it's about what you are willing to be for him because if you don't carry a certain trait he desires another will.

Plus, I'll never want to look back on the first date with my husband and recall I shared that moment with a bunch of other girls.

Gabby If we were competing for Maxon then hell yes! But if it was anyone else then probably not.

Night Well let's say Maxon wasn't perfect lets say he had a disability? Would you enter then?

Night Carissa wrote: "I wouldn't (unless i got maxon)but i love the book."

Really you wouldn't?

Really you wouldn't?"
why would i if he did?"

I was just wondering.

Brittany I would if it meant helping my family like if I was below at 2 in the cast, but if we were doing well enough off I wouldn't.

I think I'd try yeah the pressure would be great but I think I'd be willing to put up with it.

Courtney I would especially if it were helping my family, also if you got to compete for Maxon then that's just an added bonus! :-)

Celena I'm not sure,if I was a five or lower then I would just try to stay in for the benefits to my family but I don't think I would want to be in that world in the first place.

Pen-pen I don't know, but maybe I would if it meant you can possibly change something in your society, that would not only benefit my family in short term but also in a long run. yeah, I agree competing for Maxon is a bonus.

Lauren Yes, I may not want cameras in my face all th etime, but if it would help my family...

anthea If I was in like 5/6/7/8 then I definitely would, why wouldn't I want a better life for myself and my family? Even if I don't win and just end up as a 3, it's better than being poor and starving isn't it?

It's a life-changing opportunity, and you'd be a fool to turn it down if you were chosen.

Laurel Yes, I would, if I wasn't already married ;-). From what I've seen of Prince Maxon I think I could fall in love with him, and... the dresses...

Cameron Depends. . . the same one with Maxon, right? I wouldn't mind getting upgraded from a 5 or 6 to a 3 or possibly 1. Although, there is the rebel dangers, too. . .

Lani No, never, it would mean having to be in the book.

Nahhhh, I would hate to be Judged like that... Especially if you had to be sent home after all that effort

Jayla I would love to be in the selection. Because I would get to meet MAXON!!!! Who wouldn't want to do that?

Christie Chandler No i wouldnt even get picked. I am as far from a lady as one could get. yes i like to dress up when the occasion calls for it, but i still like to get around in thongs and shorts.

Lol this is exactly me in a nutshell xD

The Selection from the beginning reminded me of The Bachelor. And the title brought up images in my head of a fat guy going through a box of chocolates, touching them all, and then picking which one he liked best to eat. It's almost wrong, the way that they just take these girls from their lives and stick them into the royal setting to be each other's competition.
I do totally see where Maxon's coming from, though, what with him not being able to date and not meeting any girls and such. I think they should just throw him out into the real world in a disguise for a bit, put him in a lower caste, and do a whole "Undercover Prince" thing and make him find true love that way. It would take a lot of stress of the poor girls... and they wouldn't really be competing against each other as much! I kind of feel bad for the ones that get sent home... but i guess they knew it would happen seeing as there can only be one winner. This isn't the Hunger Games, after all xD

Lol i think that if i was in their places i would be like Celeste (just not SOO MEAN). Just her competitiveness and "powerfulness." and i wouldn't be so rude... or spill my drink on someone's beautiful dress...

CC No thank you. I prefer to find a guy that I don't have to share with over 30 girls until he decides which one he likes most. Not my cup of tea.

Rozette Aragones Depends on the prince? but I think no. I rather be chosen by a prince on the streets or somewhere we can fall in love but not on THE SELECTION. But if I'm AMERICA then yes.

Reyhaneh Maybe I'll do it for my family and also remember, even if you lost the selection, someone rich ends up marring you anyway because you were in the selection. In the first book it said in a sentence that the girls that left the selection in the beginning got to marry guys of higher casts after anyway. so sure I would enter.

Lonely Reader Maybe,, idk? Its because the book may give a fair description of prince Maxon, but what ik is I can't tell you unless ik. Maybe it depends a little but of his looks and his personality so maybe i would like to be part of the Selection but going through a lot to get rejected may not be the best thing.
