Hi Zara,
I have finished Edenbrooke (A Proper Romance) by Julianne Donaldson and it was a 4-star book.
It would make a great movie just like Pride & Prejudice. thank you for that recommendation.
Now I have to decide which book will be my next victim:)
I am leaning towards Kristin Hannah.

Thanks for a regreat recomendation.

I finished my first two picks: Into the Deep (Into the Deep, #1) by Samantha Young & Damaged (Damaged, #1) by H.M. Ward .

I plan on reading a couple more! :)

Glad you loved Kyrian and Amanda. I think I've re-read the first 5 (Fantasy Lover doesn't count as a Dark Hunter novel) at least 3 or 4 times now as those have been my favorite hunters.

Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie was pure fun to read. Very entertaining.

I started Magic Rises (Kate Daniels, #6) by Ilona Andrews last night.

Fran | 12271 comments Hi Sass!

I read Friday Afternoon by Sylvia Ryan and loved it. Thanks for the rec!

I am going to try and fit a few more in this month if I can. I would like to get to Joe by H.D. Gordon and The Perfect Score by Beth Williamson

message 311: by Jojo (new)

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Rebecca

I finished 2 books from your recs so far this month - the first was Flesh. Menage isn't usually my thing (it just seems too much hard work to have to deal with 2 men in a relationship) but I can see it working in a post apocalypse situation like that. That said I love zombie books and I really enjoyed this one (4 stars).

The second book was Seduction and Snacksand I loved this one too, it was a laugh out loud book. I really liked all the characters and reading from both points of view sometimes about the same situation was really good. This is definitely a series I'm going to keep reading.

I'm going to try and read a couple more recs too.

Skandia (sfgirl) | 972 comments ~Leslie~,
I finished my first pick Eleven on Top (Stephanie Plum, #11) by Janet Evanovich .
As always, it's good to return to Stephanie & Co. This is my comfort read series :)
Thanks for the push to pick one of them up again!

I finished Love, Hypothetically today. I enjoyed it, but as I usually feel about books of this length, 100 pages, I wish the author had just written a whole novel. This book is part of a series and I am looking forward to reading the next one.

message 316: by Mary Ann (last edited Oct 04, 2013 08:16PM) (new)

Mary Ann (mgilbert1112) | 167 comments Dee,

I finished Vision In White by Nora Roberts today. Not my favorite Nora Roberts book but very glad that I read it. It had a great story line and kept me reading. Thanks for the suggestion!! I'm going to try to get in the Molly Harper or Club Shadowlands this month. Thanks!!

AWESOME Elizabeth. I'm go glad you enjoyed it and I'll definately look into the audiobook version.

Dracula, I have the ebook and the audio was on sale from 29.99 down to .99 on amazon... you may want to look into that. I hope to read/listen to it Monday or Tuesday.... We'll have to compare notes!

~KarenH~ | 11327 comments Hey, Ty!

I finished Shadowfever today, and while I liked it, the whole series didn't have the impact on me that it did on so many people. I'm not sure if it's because UF is kind of hit-or-miss for me, or if it was the amount of detail involved...I had trouble keeping track of everything that was going on and why. Probably a combination of both. I did enjoy it though, and I'm glad I've finally read the series. Thanks for the recommendation! :D

ooh awesome! I kinda agree about the entire series as a whole. But the last 2 books were much more impactful (is that a word??) to me. Glad you liked it!

I finished up Kamikaze Boys today. Not bad, but not great either. 3 stars. :) Thanks for the pick!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments Nichole, I finished W is for Wasted (Kinsey Millhone #23) by Sue Grafton ! Five stars for me. I loved it!! I'm hoping to get Thankless in Death (In Death, #37) by J.D. Robb before October is over but the waiting list is long. I might be reading another of your picks before the month is out, too.

It's always good to have that one series that is a comfort to read. Mine is the In Death series. Glad you enjoyed this one!

message 326: by ⚜️XAR (new)

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Daffodil--Finished another one! Rainy days at work equals reading time, which is always a win for me! Pies and Prejudice wasn't my usual cup of tea...I tend to read romances more so than murder mysteries, though I have read them in the past, however it was a decent read. I'm going to give it three stars in my review, but my actual feeling is that it's more of a three and a half star read. I'm curious enough to read more of the series when I get a chance, though!

message 327: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Mccurley (jaimemccrl4) | 76 comments Diane, I finished MacRieve (Immortals After Dark, #13) by Kresley Cole it was a pretty good book, not my favorite of the series by far, but a strong book.. Next, I am going to try Second Sight (Arcane Society, #1) by Amanda Quick . I have never read this author so we will see.

message 332: by Erin (new)

Erin (erin-b) I'm really enjoying your recommendations so far Shelby, so thanks! I just finished Disasterology 101 by Taylor V. Donovan and loved it. Now I have a new author to look into. Yay! I also read Finding Farro (Moon Pack, #6) by Amber Kell for a challenge I needed to finish last month, so it doesn't really count here, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I'm hoping to get to The Student Prince by FayJay next.

message 333: by Juliet (new)

Juliet (yiinochi) I've just finished my first book. Atonement by Ian McEwan

Beautifully written and the title is perfect for this story. I feel so much for Briony, Cecilia and Robbie. I love the little twist in the ending as it made the whole book so much more romantic. I am now tempted to re-watch the movie again, even though I have already watched it once years ago.

⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) Guess I got ambitious today...finished Own the Wind just now! I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much if I hadn't just watched the first two episodes of Season 1 of Sons of Anarchy yesterday. That being said, I really liked this book, but also felt a bit lost in it, like I was missing part of the story. Turns out I was, so I get to backtrack now, but that will be a ride I look forward to another time. Probably going for the Dee Henderson books next, not sure though.
