We finished the first 4 hours of the read-a-thon. Don't forget to have a short break to eat, drink, walk or whatever, to rest a little your eyes :)

Checkpoint time!
1. What did your read so far? How many pages?
2. Tell us something about one character of your book.
3. What will you read next?

1. Big Little Lies (I read 50pages), Fées, Weed & Guillotines (I read 90pages) and I finished Lumberjanes vol.1 (4*).

2. She's a fairy, very bad mouthed, and the last time she visited our world, it was during the french revolution (1789). At this time, she went to the guillotine and she's very angry because of this.

3. I'll continue Big and Fées and I'll try the first volume of iZombie (comic book).

Stephanie, what are you thinking of Pines? Thats on my TBR list but it's not available via my digital library so I've been putting off getting a physical copy somewhere.

1. What did your read so far? How many pages?

Lutie is an African American single mom struggling to raise her son amid discrimination in the 1940s.

3. What will you read next?
I just started A Cup of Friendship

message 6: by Erin (new)

Erin So far I've read 120 pages of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. My goal is to finish this book today. I have been reading a chapter then doing a little housework to stay productive in both my reading and normal household chores.

One of the characters in my book is Chief, who is the narrator of this story. The movie makes it appear as if it is told from a different character's perspective which made this twist very interesting to read. Chief is a very introspective man who spends all of his time observing the other characters on the ward including the staff. While he is observant his observations are often clouded by his psychosis leaving a bit of mystery as to what exactly is going on.

Marina | 272 comments I've read 128 pages of Nomad and I'm only missing the last 20 pages.

The book is an autobiography/memoir. I have a great deal of respect for the author. She broke with her family and her religion, and now lives in USA but under armed guard. It can't be an easy life.

I'll probably continue reading The Rosie Project afterwards

Holli | 30 comments 1. What did your read so far? How many pages?

First two hours of Grey.

2. Tell us something about one character of your book.

Christian Grey is more of a jerk than I thought when I read Fifty Shades of Grey.

3. What will you read next?

Possibly No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden. I have the audiobook from the library and I've been wanting to re-read it for a while.

Brittany (tinsel hoarding bookdragon) (gamerkiti) Well I just started about 30 minutes ago (I'm only reading on and off today since my plans are conflicting now). But so far I've read about 8 pages of the fellowship of the ring. I'm going to try my hardest to finish this book today. *fingers crossed*

message 10: by Ella (new)

Ella | 234 comments Read about 2 hours of Married by Monday. Carter Billings is the sexiest politician.
I'm going to read The Secret Fear by Barbara Cartland next. It's for the Mom's favorite book category.

message 11: by Aline (new)

Aline (thousanduniverses) | 53 comments I've read 170 pages of The Summer I Turned Pretty Complete Series and 24 pages of Dracula.
I'll just continue with these, that'll still take some time :D

message 12: by Jess (new)

Jess | 55 comments I also have read eight pages of Fellowship and intend to finish it today! Just got off work, so I'm starting to read in earnest now!

message 13: by Keri (new)

Keri I just started really reading as well. I have read about ten pages so far.

Martin has OCD and has a very interesting way of making a living. He isn't very good at social interactions but as the book goes on he is getting better. I love when characters progress and grow!

Next I think I will start Summer in Tuscany by Elizabeth Adler

Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 414 comments 1. What did your read so far? How many pages?
--Around 40 pages of What the Dog Saw and Other Adventures and it's already Hour 10! I spent most of the first half of this read-a-thon sleeping because of time zone differences.

2. Tell us something about one character of your book.
--It's actually nonfiction. It's a collection of essays and one of my favorites is about Cesar Millan, the dog whisperer. He has a show on National Geographic, I think. He is so good with dogs, but not so much with people. Haha. He's amazing for me, though, 'cause I'm a dog-person.

3. What will you read next?
--I'm still deciding between A Thousand Acres and The Ball Jar
