Jessica | 5 comments I'm looking for a young adult book series that I read back in the early 90s. It was a book from our Church's library, so I imagine it might be listed as a Christian book. It was about some teens/children I think a pair of siblings a boy and a girl, but there may have been more children involved as well. I believe the girl was the older of the pair. I don't remember much about the series itself, just random scenes.

These siblings would help or be brought to learn lessons between their world set in modern time to another dimension that was sort of like their version of heaven. They had a being that was supposed to be an angel of sorts, but it wasn't called that. It would bring them back and forth between their world and this heaven dimension through the book.

The one scene I remember most clearly was not from the first book in the series. The girl and boy had been split up. The girl was struggling with a concept or lesson and was brought to a room in the heaven dimension. It held a computer that allowed her to generate a world. She was left in the room after being shown how to use the machine. The world that was generated was created on a table of sorts. She started to create the world and eventually created two beings that existed on the table. Eventually the two tiny creatures began to explore and drew closer to the edge of the table. I think they tried to jump off the edge, but she caught them and brought them back up onto the table so they wouldn’t die. She sent a stone with writing on it to tell them to stay away from the edge so she could communicate with them. They started to worship the stone itself and paid no attention to the words. Eventually, in an attempt to save them, she sent herself to their world, shrinking to their size so she could talk to them. She told them that she sent the stone, and that they needed to stay away from the edge of the table. They didn’t believe her and instead tried to throw her off the edge of the table.

At this point, the angel person that was sort of their friend/guide came back to the room and realized what had happened. He stopped the program and brought her back. I remember a few other vague ideas. I think at one point they were trying to stop some sort of evil being and they went into a world of mirrors. The mirrors showed twisted sides of themselves and they got lost in the mirrors.
That’s about the most that I can clearly remember. I have been looking for this book series for years and have been unable to find it. It’s driving me mad. Any help would be appreciated!

Jessica | 5 comments Huh, It definitely could be! I vaguely recall something like the snake in the sky you described, but I more remember some sort of natural disaster everyone thought was doing on or something like that. My memories on this series are really hazy.. :( For sure I'm going to be keeping an eye on your thread though to see what people suggest!

Do you remember any of the covers?
How many books were in the series?

Alicia | 37 comments I remember a giant snake in the sky in, I think, one of the John White Anthropos books - maybe The Tower of Geburah or The Iron Sceptre. I think there were mirrors too. I didn't read the other books in the series and I read those two in publishing order not series order, so the other things may have happened in another book.

Ho..."

Unfortunately, I don't recall what the covers of the books looked like. I think there were at least four books in the series, but I don't know how many in total. The virtual reality series isn't it though, but thanks!

Unfortunately this isn't the series. The world that they went to that was supposed to be the other dimension was almost a mix of magic and futuristic, I don't recall it being medieval in any sense.

This doesn't look like the series I'm thinking of. I don't really recall a giant snake in the sky. It sounds vaguely familiar, but I'm not entirely postive if it was a snake in the sky. When they went into the other dimension it was almost ethereal? Not medieval like.

Cupcakedoll | 322 comments I think you may be after the "Journeys to Fayrah" series by Bill Myers. I saw them in a one-book version that had a scene very like the one you describe.

The Bloodstone Chronicles A Journey of Faith (Journeys to Fayrah, #1-4) by Bill Myers

OH MY GOODNESS! That's it! Cupcakedoll you are amazing! I'm crazy thrilled and I'm going to have to get my hands on this book right away. Thank you so much!
