message 951: by Paul (new)

Paul I'm sure you have great cheerleader legs. No, no need to bother with the skirt. Just keep up with the encouragement.

"Ra-ra Paul" etc.

I'll be fine. You know, I just need to get to some breathing space then I'm away. Meds - a few bottles would be fine. Send me some heavy rock as well - recent Nickleback would be good.

Thanks anyway, dear.

message 952: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I've got recent Nickleback. Of course I do. I'll send it along. Go breathe.

message 953: by Paul (new)

Paul Breathe was a euphemism. For get the annoying shit out of the way. Or get the annoying shits out of the way. Or just ignore them and hope they go away.

I'll be fine. I will meet and overmatch my self-appointed goals; and produce a damn fine story to boot.

I hope you'll like it. (If you want to read it, of course.)

message 954: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) If I want to read it? How can you even ask? Of course I want to read it! Blood, lakes, and umm...Chicago? yes I want to read it.

Are there horrifying creatures? Or just crazy loons slaughtering random people? Never mind, I'll wait.

message 955: by Paul (new)

Paul Oh, yes, there's a terrifying villain who will stalk your dreams - as he does mine. With his cold logic, handsome, blond chiselled features, his descent into madness and rage...

But enough of me, we're talking about the baddy here. Oh yes, you'll love him. Could well be played by Clive...

And the hero? Think Brad Pitt in homespun and leather, amongst the hillbillies of Deliverance. With Natasha, Charlize and perhaps Jodie as support.

Heroine - who other than Scarlett...

message 956: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh, Clive will be the baddy? I love the idea. He would make a good one. He already stalks me in my dreams. Does it count if I let him catch me?

Brad Pitt in leather, definitely appealing, and Deliverance is brilliant. Kind of like the far reaches of Tweed. Perfect cast of women too. Will Charlize be a baddie? I think she'd do it well.

message 957: by Paul (new)

Paul Hmm. hadn't thought of that.

You're right, a female baddie. Co-baddie anyway; works for me. Will rethink the plot a bit.

message 958: by Paul (new)

Paul Good night, young Renee.

Sweet dreams (etc.).

You know what I mean...

message 959: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Again, night Paul.

message 960: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments i just realized that i have 6 papers due in the next 5 weeks mild heart attack, since one of those projects i got today, and one is a 10 page research paper... maybe i will make up my own nano month, when i don't have school or finals or insanity.

those of you doing it, i love and am impressed by you.

message 961: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I agree lauren, it takes a huge commitment and an even bigger amount of determination to do NaNo. I'm impressed by anyone who completes, or even attempts it.

Speaking of word counts, mine for yesterday is 2602 words. I'm thinking today might not be so good, we'll see.

message 962: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments thanks honey... it's only dirty if you remember that he has salt and pepper hair.

message 963: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh shit, I did not get that. I knew it was talking about more than meat, well a different kind of meat...the salt and pepper had me wondering too. I'm like "What's the big deal about salt and pepper? There's better spices than that."

Good job, now it's even better.

message 964: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments or dirtier. she says with a manic smile.

message 965: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Yes, that too.

message 966: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I've been writing up a storm these past few hours. Today's count 3994 words. I suppose I could write six more for an even 4000 but I like the other number.

Now, I need a snack and some TV.

message 967: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments THATS AWESOME

message 968: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Thank you, thank you very much.

message 969: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) It's okay, we all ramble. You did say it, and thank you.
My word count yesterday? 4494 words. Ahem. Yes, I was up very early and stayed up way too late.

message 970: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) w-o-w renee.

U da man! -er woman.

message 971: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Thanks, I get the man thing a lot. What's up with that?

message 972: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) U da wo-man just doesn't sound as cool as U da man. Nothing personal.

message 973: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments are you doing nano, cause i feel like you would be half way done with your novel already.

message 974: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) no she's focusing on her current project.

message 975: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Yeah, if I were doing NaNo, I wouldn't be as far because I'd have to think up something entirely new and I'm so into the one I've been working on for the past while that I hate to stray from it.
I would be pretty far though. Maybe next year.

I'm almost finished, nearly 70,000 words. If I keep up the word counts the way they've been going, I might be finished midmonth or sooner. Then it's editing.

message 976: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stone (laurenreads) | 502 comments thats great.

message 977: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Sort of, then I'll be like, now what. I'll have to go back to stuff I've left, catch up, see if I can continue. Never start more than you can finish. That's a good lesson.

But I am excited about finishing this one, I can barely stand it. Whenever I get close to finishing I lose all patience, I just want it done. It's kind of like Christmas.

message 978: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Formidable wordcount, Renee! Do you usually finish one piece at a time, or do you work on several different ones simultaneously? I'm trying to learn that bit about not starting more than I can finish but so far it's not going too well.

message 979: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I tend to work on several at once. Lately it's been one thing though, and that's why my word counts have been high. I'm nearly finished, so I'm obsessed with it, dreaming about it even.

I think focusing on one, maybe two, is easier on your brain, I get scattered and then frustrated because I can't focus on just one.

But if you're stuck on one, there are always others to work on, so that's a bonus. I'll probably always do it this way, even if it drives me completely nuts.

While we're speaking of word counts, I should record yesterday's before I forget. 2145 words, all before 7am. That's my other trick, I pick the quietest times of day to write, early morning or late night usually. No distractions, no noise, so I can stay focused on what I'm doing. Who needs sleep? It's totally overrated.

message 980: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments Great word counts!

message 981: by Renee (last edited Nov 08, 2009 03:22PM) (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Thank you Daisy. Now and then I focus and watch out. Now, we'll see if any of it is actually good once I've finished. That is important. Although, I'm pretty excited about it.

Oh, and yesterday's word count was 2497 words. Today's is awesome, but I'm not finished yet, so I'll post later. I've been at it for seven hours. With a few breaks in between of course. But this is the longes stretch of time I've been able to write in months. I'm loving it.

message 982: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments No problem I needed someone who isn't going to yell at me or show up from Alaska to give me a mailbox to be nice to :)

message 983: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh, that's too bad. Who is yelling at you? Alaska? That's a long way to deliver a mailbox.

message 984: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments Well she isn't...yet but i'm sure I'll get some soon.

my ex and her arch enemy is coming to live with his dad for the rest of the year and he gave me a mailbox because pone day I said it would be awesome if I had my own mailbox. And he brought one.

message 985: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Awe, that's thoughtful. Now you have your own mailbox. Is it your bf? Or your mom? As a mom I'd have to say that maybe she has a reason to dislike him. If it's your best friend, then you have to use your own judgement, because unlike moms best friends aren't always looking out for your best interests, they tend to get jealous. Only you know for sure. And why would anyone yell at you because someone gave you something? Silly.

message 986: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments my best friend yeah going to yell at me, it's more because of the presence of my ex boyfriend and that he's going to show up at our school. But the mailbox is sweet, but he's my ex boyfriend.

message 987: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) yes, they're usually exes for a reason.

message 988: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments Good reasons!

message 989: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) That's right. See, your friend has nothing to worry about. Sounds like you know what you're doing.

message 990: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments It doesn't stop that she's gonna yell at me, she hates him and she must complain!

message 991: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) And you wouldn't have her any other way, would you? Just nod and smile. That's what I do.

message 992: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol SHE KNEW! She just texted mne saying she knew! And she's the one whos always asking me to give her updates! i HAVE TO UPDATE HER ON BERRIS ALL THE TIME!

message 993: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) About the mailbox? Oh my, that's a lot of drama. you guys should be your own show.

message 994: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol we considered that

message 995: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I bet it would be a hit.

message 996: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments I'm sure it would, cause when we're not being dramatic we're being funny.

message 997: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Ah, I love best friends. You guys could do a web show, like iCarly only funnier. Who would be Sam though?

message 998: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments hmm...that would be a good question. I could be Carly...Suzi would prolly be most like sam.

message 999: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Oh, so Suzi is the agressive, socially inept friend and you're the smart, well adjusted, pushover friend?

I'd like to be the friend of a friend with a brother like Spencer. He's darn cute if you ask me. I know, I sound like a dorky mom. It's intentional. But I'm serious about Spencer, that's how they get the moms to watch it too.

message 1000: by Daisy (new)

Daisy | 1803 comments lol Renee

Yeah pretty much.
