That's where I am as well! I don't love this as much as I thought I would so far. Hopefully the rest of it will suck me in.
LOL! It was in the Dystopian folder, here's a link to the thread :)

I'm still on the fence, but the backstory is being beautifully woven in and something big finally happened, I'm at 40% now!

Wow, I have some catching up to do. I am at 11% and it's moving along ok, setting the scene I guess.
I haven't even started yet, Tracy! Had to work today, and tonight spending some much needed time with Tessa! Hoping to start later tonight!
haven't even started eeeek when was the go ahead, is David cheating again? I can't read this till chaos is over lol
Yay! Yeah, that changed everything :) I'm at 80% and I'm enjoying it, although it doesn't compare to Chaos Walking or A Monster Calls. I've just set Ness up on such a high pedestal that it's hard to top. But it's definitely an interesting read so far and I'm liking that (view spoiler)

OKay, I'm now at 23% so I could read a few spoilers! Agree with everything you've said, David! (view spoiler)

I think I'm having the pedestal problem too, because I absolutely loved Chaos Walking and A Monster Calls, and when you love all of an author's old books it's disappointing if you don't totally love the new one.
I do really like it though!
Jenny - Ness is cruel in this book - he feeds you pieces of answers and then he drops a bombshell and then you think you've figured it out and then there's another bombshell. I still don't totally understand everything that has happened and is happening now!
Yup, that sounds about right! I'm at 42% now (view spoiler)
Its keeping me reading, though! Have to stop now, time to go to work :(

Ahh, I have to give this a go as well, I adore Patrick Ness. Just got to get a hold of the book somehow :)He's comming to Slovenia soon, for a discussion of his books, so I just might buy it then ^^ I can't wait!
Great review Tracy! I finished as well :) Great read!
Ooh, Taja, hope you get a copy soon! And hope you get to see Ness, that would be amazing!

Ha! I didn't either! I was thinking a more mystical/spiritual point behind it, but I love that it's a classic scifi!

Wow I feel so behind. I'm swamped with homework this weekend, but hopefully I'll be done soon and I can catch up with reading!
LOL I've been feeling behind in every part of my life at the moment! I will finish this book tonight, though!
I finished it! I read everyone's spoilers, and great review, Tracy! Kudos for trying to write a review, I would not know how to without giving anything away!
I loved this read! I was so sucked into this world and trying to make sense of all the madness! I really didn't see the big twist AT ALL, and the smaller twists, I only caught a few. Love that! I had to give it 5 stars--it was a well written book with a fantastic suspenseful plot! I will be thinking about this book for awhile!

I haven't read any spoilers, but I've reached the second part of the book. sucked right in....so far so good. was a bit slow at the beginning started to remind me of watching Tom Hanks in Castaway lol. now into the second part of the book with new characters it sort of reminds me of a series I read a couple years ago, The Skin Jacker series, anyone read these books? the first three were Good, fourth wasn't necessary I thought, but an enjoyable series.anyway just thought I would ask since I haven't talked with anyone that has read that series, now back More Than This....lol
Cindee wrote: "I haven't read any spoilers, but I've reached the second part of the book. sucked right in....so far so good. was a bit slow at the beginning started to remind me of watching Tom Hanks in Castawa..."I really liked the Skinjacker series! Neal Shusterman, right? I didn't even know there was a fourth haha
I'm now at 75% and the backstories are breaking my heart!
I'm sorry there is only three books, I think the third book was a bit crazy, and yet felt satisfied with the ending. but they were great books! the concept was awesome and unique.
Yeah I agree that they got a little crazy towards the end (the whole Montezuma thing? And the playground...oh my goodness that was creepy) but I liked the concept and the characters.
the first two books were really good tho, made you wonder looking around your own world, is there a world inside my world I cannot see but can see me?In More Than This, as I keep reading it, and they have their theory of how they came to be, I kept thinking, maybe they aren't dead maybe they are in a comma? But their concept of what is going on is pretty interesting too, although a few holes that don't make sense. But again I'm only getting into that part I'm sure more will be explained later.
Finished it as well...hmmm I guess its a good ending??? not sure really, it would've been neat to see what happens alternating between both worlds, what happens to all the people in the coffins? what about other people around the world? what if they decide to wake up? lots of unfinished questions....perhaps there will be a second book? it was a good book tho, I enjoyed the idea of it.
Yay! Yeah, I agree that it was almost impossible to fully build the world and explain everything in one book. As far as I know though, I don't think he's planning a sequel?

It kind of reminded of
in that--its not a clear ending, and the reader is left to believe what they want basically.
But I liked More Than This much more than Every Day.

loved everyday! there was a .5 of everyday. it was short but good....defiantly needed more to that story as well, like you are just waiting for it
Aaaaaaand . . . two months later I'm reading it. Yes, yes, always late to the party. I'm at 50% and finding I can't put it down. I adored Chaos Walking, listened to it on audio and this has the same narrator (Nick Podehl). Interesting enough, Podehl also did the Skinjacker series - which I loved, one of my top series of all time. I didn't know there was a fourth book! Say it ain't so! Now I'm going to have to find it and download it.
This book is seriously strange and keeps throwing stuff out there. I find myself saying "what? what?" continually. Like I said, can't put it down.
