More Than This by Patrick Ness
Oh. My. Gosh! Is this one out already? I'm obsessed with Ness too!! I'd love to read it with you! Have you started already? Perhaps post about it in the general Buddy Reads thread too to get more people interested. I probably won't be ready to read it for a little while still, are you OK to start in a couple weeks or are you ready to go now?
I'm good whenever! I flipped out last night when I saw it in my library catalogue and checked it out immediately (ebook) but I'd rather read this one as a paper book. Better for savoring hahaDo you want to start in October then?
Yeah it'll be a week or two before I can buy myself a copy, so I can wait! Like I said, I'd rather read this as a physical book than an ebook because I tend to skim ebooks and I don't want to skim this.
I've got an ARC of this but haven't started. Let me know when you guys are starting...got lots of books to read in the meantime
My copy has supposedly shipped but my dorm mailroom doesn't have it ready yet. AGHI'm going to try again today...fingers crossed!
IT'S HERE!Just in time for October, too :)
I'm in the middle of Mistborn: The Final Empire right now, so Friday sounds like a good day to start.
SO EXCITED :D
Yay! I'm still hoping Kindle will drop the crazy ebook price. Just give me a dollar you greedy publisher!
I don't know if I will be ready for it on Friday just starting the other buddy read Crown of Midnight.

Um either $10.99 or $11.99, I personally believe $9.99 should be the cap for ebooks, but that's just me! That's a great price for the hardcover, at least you have something tangible to hold and display!

Me too! I definitely will need a bit longer before I can start this one. We might have to push it to mid-Octobber if that's OK with everyone?

that works for me! I still am in chaos mode would love to read monsters of men, plus I really want to read the divergent series before I read book three!
sure, we can push it to later in the month. Oh my goodness that lovely glossy hardcover is staring me in the face - the temptation!

Its a really cool book, I'm so glad I bought the hardcover! I'll show it off in my book haul this weekend.
*BIG SIGH* I can wait, I suppose. LOL ;) No, really, its fine, I always have plenty to read!

LOL! If you guys want to jump ahead and buddy read together, that's cool, don't want to hold you back! We can always catch up and chat about it later :) We could buddy read in pairs lol, Jenny and Kritika and me and Cindee ;) And Tracy and Caitlin could join whichever group they'd like! Or we can all wait, up to you guys!!
whatever works for the group, I'm in. I definitely want to read this book! I've just got a few I would like to finish first, and it seems like after you read a Patrick Ness book you are going to have trouble getting into anything else. I read some of Crown at Midnight last night and I still couldn't get Viola and Tom out of my head. But I think Crown at Midnight will be great I'm just having separation anxiety right now lol. Tonight will be better I know it lol.
That sound good David just let me know when you guys start. I am also reading Crown of Midnight on and I love this book! I had to put it on hold because I need to finish Dexter's Final Cut, it's due back at the library.
Ok, I'll start rereading Ender's Game while I wait - I've been meaning to do that before the movie comes out. It's been years...
I'll probably start reading on Friday. I'm in the middle of another book at the moment.I've been waiting so long, I'm kind of scared to read it now! I'm sure it will be amazing, but I just hope I'm not hyping it too much in my head.
I'm still fighting through Monsters, which is really long. Once I'm done with that, I can start on this one :) But feel free to start, and we'll just catch up :)
Monsters is BRILLIANT. I can't say enough good things about it. And the ending is absolutely perfect. Prepare for minor heart attacks though!
I'm reading monsters of men still but then I should be ready for more than this....and then on to reread of Divergent....woot woot almost here!
Monsters of Men! Eeep!! Best. Book. Ever!
OK, I started this one last night! 15% in, VERY interesting :) (view spoiler)

YES I'm glad you enjoyed Monsters! It's one of my absolute favorite books :)I'm starting More Than This tonight. I will update you all tomorrow!
do you know what I hate....I hate I like the mayor....what the?? I despised him in the second book. also I hate how viola doesn't feel close to Todd cause of his noise.....oh wait. this group is for More Than This....seriously I should be reading the chaos series with someone! its amazing and so much to talk about. on top of that when I try to read another story I'm like"well why can't you hear his noise for Pete's sake!?" lol. an amazing series! it reminds me of the hunger games and the maze runner triology....books that get in your head and don't leave for awhile.
I'm sure there is a thread in this group somewhere for Chaos Walking. There is no way David would not make a thread for it! hehe
I think there's a thread for The Knife of Never Letting Go where we pretty much just rave about the whole series lol!

The synopsis sounds incredible, and Ness is one of my favorite authors, so I'm ridiculously excited to start reading and it would be awesome to share the excitement with people!
