Anne, I just started Marked today... I like it so far. Much better than the YA book that I just finished, Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow.
You guys were right! I finished it last night. Total brain candy! What did you think of it, Theresa? I'm definately going to keep reading this series. Evermore is waiting for me at the library, so I guess I'll start that tonight.
I am in the process of reading the 4th in the House of Night Series. It's a BIT annoying in the "teen speak" but it's still a good story so far. I didn't realize teens talked that way today...I guess I'm older than I thought! lol
ive read the 1st 2 of the house of the night they are enjoyable and quick like everyone says good characters i love stevie rae
I finished book 4 and loved the ending! Good quick read - those kind of books are fillers till I get my usual authors books in lol. I'm now reading Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs. So glad I tried this series again.
I just finished Can't Stand the Heat by Louisa Edwards and oooh, boy, it was awesome!Next: Demon Inside by Stacia Kane, I can't wait to read this one.

Can't wait for the next installment at end of October!! I also love Stevie Ray she is my fav character along with Damian!:)

Oh yeah glad you tried it again too Elvia, the Mercy Thompson series is one of my favs too!:) Of course it helps that I live in the PacificNW :)
Jael wrote: "just finised Odd Thomas now on to Valiant by Holly Black."What did you think of Odd Thomas Jael!? I love Koontz and I loved the first 3 in this series!!:)
I enjoyed it very much. The ending was sad but I will definitely be reading th next books in the series.

she is the most realistic one to me and im a sucker for a deep friendship in books sometimes its even better then a love story ill keep reading by best freind got be reading it and keeps pushing the reast on me
I found Odd Thomas and Forever Odd at a yard sale for FREE! I took them right away since I had heard about them here. I am going to read them AFTER I shorten my library list...lol.Anyway, I'm reading Bloodlist because I can't find Blood Bound!! I am halfway thru so as soon as I'm done I'll start my search for Blood Bound again...it's somewhere in my house.
I FOUND BLOOD BOUND!!! So I started reading that one again. I'm not even half way thru but when I'm done I'll finish Bloodlist. :)
Melissa wrote: "Destined for an Early Grave and Thorn Queen both arrived today! Decisions. Decisions."Go for Cat & Bones! I really liked it!
O.K. I'll read that one first! I was leaning that way anyways because I've missed Bones. I just know I'll be sorry when I'm done and have to wait awhile for another dose.
Destined for an Early Grave was the best one yet!!!! So sad it's over and now I've got to wait, but boy, it was good.Guess I'll start Thorn Queen.
Susan wrote: "just started Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton"Oooh, that one is truly my favorite in the entire Anita Blake series! Enjoy!!

Agreed! I loved it, too!
Anne, I didn't really care for Marked. I can see why people DO like it, I'm just not one of them. Oh, well, one less series to follow. :)
Theresa wrote: "Anne, I didn't really care for Marked. I can see why people DO like it, I'm just not one of them. Oh, well, one less series to follow. :)"Theresa, you are not alone on that one. I detested MARKED. My niece has been insisting I give the series another chance and read the 2nd one, but so far have not been able to bring myself to do it.
Theresa wrote: "Anne, I didn't really care for Marked. I can see why people DO like it, I'm just not one of them. Oh, well, one less series to follow. :)"I'm following too many myself! I think the House of Night series is going to go into my second-string catagory. I have several series that I LIKE, but don't LOVE. House of Night goes into the LIKE catagory. I enjoy reading them, but I don't really rush out to get the next one.
I'm reading Evermore right now. I got halfway through it, and then we left and went on vacation. I should have brought it with me, but it is a library book and I didn't want ot lose it! We just got back last night, and I can't wait to finish it!

I really liked EVERMORE. Didn't like BLUE MOON, the 2nd in the series.
I too am following way too many series! I'm glad I've caught up with most of them so I have to wait for the next in the series.I just finished two books from Christopher Moore, Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck: A Love Story. (my daughter thought the cover for You Suck was hilarious).
I am now reading Strange Brew.

Loved the Chris Moore books! I was disappointed with STRANGE BREW. Only really liked a couple of stories.
I have only gotten thru the first story in Strange Brew and that was disappointing. I'm hoping the others are good - at least Jim Butcher's (love him). Either way, it's a good thing I have 8 other books at home to read from the library. I have until 8/20 to finish them all. yikes
Right now I'm reading Branded by Fire by Nalini Singh. I really love Singh's work and this one is right up there with my other favorites by her so far. I love Mercy and Riley... and, of course, my all time favorite hero, Lucas, has been showing up quite a bit in this book.
Just finished the 4th Night Huntress book and started Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz. Still in world-building phase.
Reading Thorn Queen, which is the follow-up to Mead's Storm Born. Living up to positive expectations so far.
I finished Evermore. I loved the first 90% of the book, but the last 10% disappointed me. I'm starting Dead and Gone, by Charline Harris. I've been waiting for this book to come in at the library for about two months!
Currently reading A Kiss Before the Apocalypse. At first I thought "Oh goodie, another Dresden knock-off" - but the empathy of the main character and his relationship with the dog has hooked me.
Lynda, what did you think of Destined for an Early Grave? I have it in my TBR pile, but haven't started it yet.

You are going to LOVE DEAD AND GONE!!!

Hope you continue to enjoy it. I love Marlowe!
Theresa wrote: "Lynda, what did you think of Destined for an Early Grave? I have it in my TBR pile, but haven't started it yet."Not Lynda, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Lots of things going on in this one!
Jessica wrote: "Susan wrote: "just started Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton"Oooh, that one is truly my favorite in the entire Anita Blake series! Enjoy!!"
Hey Jessica, Really!? So far I'm really underwhelmed!:( I'm almost 300 pages in and I'm like really when is SOMETHING going to happen... I hope it picks up soon.....
Theresa wrote: "Lynda, what did you think of Destined for an Early Grave? I have it in my TBR pile, but haven't started it yet."I really liked it. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and action, but it was probably the best of the series so far.
Finished Blue Bloods and am currently reading Masquerade. Liked Blue Bloods and find I like Masquerade, so far, even better.
I will finally be getting Blue Bloods from the library...if not today then tomorrow. I've heard a lot about it!
