What are you reading? (Part 1)

I thought the book would be faster paced more magic oriented than it is. Kind of like War for the Oaks. Territory is a more complicated story in the way the characters are woven together and how the story unfolds. There is certainly more talking than action which isn't a bad thing. Anyway, for me the audiobook is perfect. I am able to listen and cross stitch or quilt or clean!
I just finished

and really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next book to come out at the end of the month. I'm now reading
Yesterday I finished Graceling and really enjoyed it.Last night I picked up a PNR and started Street Game, the latest Ghostwalker novel.
Ooh, a pet mouse? =) I've been going through the Dresden series on audio (James Marsters - sigh...). Unfortunately Audible doesn't have books 5 & 6! Will need to go but the paperbacks so I can get back to them.
Im still trying to work on The BDB but i decided to give it a break and read something different so right now im reading

I like James Marsters and I've heard that he does the Jim Butcher books justice. Does he read with an English or American accent?
I have listened to the first 4 books and Masters is great as a narrator!! He does the voices in a normal American accent unless the character calls for a different one. He has really made the books very enjoyable. I had tried reading them and just couldn't get into them. I was glad someone told me of this, it has made all the difference.
Darkheart,Mouse, in the Dresden series, isn't a rodent. Nor a pet exactly... But he's a great character.
James Marsters is from Northern California and acted onstage in New York, Chicago and Seattle before being cast as Spike, according to imdb. For his audition they asked him to prepare a Southern and British accent, because they hadn't decided where he was from yet. Marsters is quoted there as saying that he based Spoike's accent on Athony Head's actual accent, not Giles'.
I finished
by Katie MacAlister. I thought it was much better than the first book. I'm a little over half way through
by Valerie Stivers. Cute paranormal vampire story, its a short quick read. Very Chick-litish.

LOL, ah... Right, well I've ordered books six and seven, so hopefully I'll get to Mouse before too long - and can get back to Mr. Marsters and his lovely voice for book eight.
DarkHeart "LOL, ah... His first appearance is right at the beginning of book six and it's impossible not to like him.
Tithe its young adult tho not sure if its classed as urban fantasy lol it says swear words alot for a ya though.

I am about 1/2 way thru it--the strange cult leader/preacher, Elijah Smith just took the stand and kitty felt some weird power from him. Does it start to pick up? Cause I gotta tell ya I am getting a little bored. Except with the were-jaguar...I want one!

"I have to agree with Melodie, this one is one of the better ones in the series. It does pick up, keep going until the end, you won't believe it.

gosh Darcy, you did a better job at "hooking" me with your last statement than the book has...looking forward to the surprise!
The end is what really makes this book and you really look at Kitty, Cormac, and Ben in a new light.

I love the kitty series! I would also say keep reading.Has anyone read the Blood Lines series? It begins with
?I am reading
, I must say I hate the lead girl, I mean she is such a self absorbed twit and I want to throw her out the pack myself. I keep yelling at Marc saying things like "why do you bother??"
Dawn wrote: "I love the kitty series! I would also say keep reading.I am reading

Dawn ~ I have read the Blood Line series. They are good, each book gets better as you get to know more and more characters from Keira's family. It is a little different take on vamps, shape shifters, and fae.
Dawn wrote: "I am reading , I must say I hate the lead girl, I mean she is such a self absorbed twit and I want to throw her out the pack myself. I keep yelling at Marc saying things like "why do you bother??..."I quit that series after book 2. I couldn't stand Faythe at all!
It really does get better Theresa - it took me 3 times to get through book 2 and then I really started liking it. I just finished Shift and it was really good.
I'm currently reading seven books (Inkheart, Eldest, It, Sense and Sensibility and Seamonsters, The Hobbit, Cry of the Newborn and Interview With The Vampire). I just can't chose which one I would like to read more...
I'm reading
. I got it for the Patricia Briggs story (which was great), now I'm seeing how the others are.I must say, reading this thread has made me curious to read the Kitty series which I've seen, but haven't tried yet.

Dont let Sunny's short story dissuade you from reading the series--Monere, Children of the Moon-Mona Lisa. Although this is one of my favorite series, the short story leaves a lot to be desired. Also, I think I might have been lost if I hadn't already read the series.

I loved Territory. It seems to me that historical fiction that is also sf or f needs time to build that world that is like the one we've read about but also different.
