I started to read it a while back but gave up because I just couldn't get into it.
Julia wrote: "I loved Neverwhere, Kristie. Please keep reading for awhile yet.And Anne, it was made into a tv movie/ pilot or something for British tv. It's supposed to be amazing."
It was?! I'd like to find it and watch it! Thanks, Julia
I'm reading:
It's a UF in which Shakespeare's characters Prospero and Miranda from The Tempest are immortal and alive today. This is an unusual book and a fun read.
I just finished Dark Nights, Dark Dreams: Sisterhood of the Sight by Savannah Russe and really enjoyed it. I'm now starting
I finished Bitten to Death. I enjoyed it. I am now reading a historical fiction: Guns for General Washington. It is based on a true story.
Finished
last night. It was good & I got the second book in the series from Paperback Swap. I started
this morning. I've had it for a while, but read mixed reviews. If anyone has read it let me know your opinions
Finished reading Poison Study, Magic Study and listening to Kitty and the Midnight Hour. I've given up on The Rest Falls Away. Currently reading Once a Witch
I finished reading Guns for General Washington. I am starting One More Bite (Jaz Parks #5) tomorrow.

Julia and Lynda, I'm almost finished with Prospero Lost. I'm impressed with the author's original approach and I identify with Miranda in this novel.
I just finished
and really didn't think it was that great. I found the female character to be whiny and self depreciating and the male fae character to be mean and indecisive. He couldn't seem to decide if he wanted the girl or not, and then took out his anger about it on her. Anyway, I could only give it 3 stars. I'm now moving on to
Jen wrote: "Summer wrote: "Working on Magic to the Bone--really interesting world-building and concept of magic. Enjoying it so far. I wouldn't say the writing is the most compelling and fast-paced, but if you like a unique take on magic, this is it.
Paula wrote: "Finished reading Poison Study, Magic Study and listening to Kitty and the Midnight Hour. I've given up on The Rest Falls Away. Currently reading..."Paula, I did NOT like The Rest Falls Away when I first read it. And in hindsight, I STILL don't like it. I put it down several times and finally finished it just so I could say I did. Months went by and I contemplated selling/donating the rest of the books in that series because I had purchased them as a set. I ended up deciding to try the second one before giving them the boot to the curb and... I loved it! The rest of the series was great! Just a little food for thought...
Theresa, I was wondering if the other books in the series were better. In my opinion this first book was just boring. I didn't really mind The Rest Falls Away reminding me of a Buffy wanna be. I like the Buffy theme, but I just couldn't push through. I don't believe that I'll read The Rest Falls Away, since I have so many in my TBR pile. Maybe I'll read book 2!
Summer wrote: "Jen wrote: "Summer wrote: "Working on Magic to the Bone--really interesting world-building and concept of magic. Enjoying it so far. Thanks Shomeret, For the heads up on Prospero Lost. I love Shakespeare retellings!
I finished rereading The Speed of Dark for the third time I think today and am starting Hush Hush.
Summer wrote: "You could just read a spoiler review of the first book and pick up with the good ones! Save you some time."Actually Summer that's a good idea. There are some extensive spoilers on GR and amazon.
Hush Hush was not for me. Didn't even finish it, which is remarkable.Hopefully I'll like [image error] a lot more!!!
I finished Dark Stranger by Susan Sizemore. I really enjoyed it. Great alien and vampire story. I'm now reading
Reading Midnight's Daughter on the Kindle. Not really connecting with Dorina yet, but I know it'll come eventually...I love Louis-Cesare, though!
Julia wrote: "Hush Hush was not for me. Didn't even finish it, which is remarkable.Hopefully I'll like [image error] a lot more!!!"
I finished HUSH, HUSH but ended up being disappointed with it. I started BEAUTIFUL CREATURES this evening.
I started Carpe Demon and I can't believe I saying this, but I don't like it. The book is going to the 'Not-going-to happen' bookshelf. I started reading Tainted, but got turned off by the monster and the frog. I'm not putting that book in the 'Not-going-to happen' bookshelf, but I'm putting it down from now. I am reading a non UF book Nightshade.
Ana C. wrote: "I'm about to start reading Night Watch and the anthology On the Prowl."Ana, what do you think of Night Watch? I have that in my to-read pile.
Paula wrote: "I started Carpe Demon and I can't believe I saying this, but I don't like it. The book is going to the 'Not-going-to happen' bookshelf. Or possibly the book just didn't appeal to me.
I'm so happy you didn't like the book either Theresa. I feel a little guilty, but I'm not going to torture myself by forcing myself to read it. It's not the kids, it's the writing style, focus and tone that I didn't like. Definately didn't appeal to me.
I'm reading
. It's much better than the Vampire Huntress books. I'm still not 100% sold on it yet, but it's a solid read.
I'm reading
but I'm not so sure it would be considered Urban Fantasy. Has anyone else read this one?So far I'm loving Priest's world and her characters. :)
I finished reading One More Bite by Jennifer Rardin. Definitely the best of the series so far. I will start Bite Marks tomorrow.
I finished Shades of Midnight. Love it! I didn't realized it was the 7th book of a serie. I started the first one and is not that good, but definetly will try the second one.

it is so good! i had to get toothpicks out to pry my eyes open last night b/c I was soooooo tired but desperately wanted to finish the book. it didn't happen--but I am gonna finish it this morning.
I have a few new ones to chose from. Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception, Beneath the Skin, Wings are a few that I need to pick from.Any suggestions on what to go with first?
Anne wrote: "I have a few new ones to chose from. Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception, Beneath the Skin, Wings are a few that I need to pick from.Any suggestions ..."
Ive heart the Lament one is really good but havent read it yet..
I finished
and think im going to start
...wanna read t before the movie comes out :)
Anne wrote: "I have a few new ones to chose from. Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception, Beneath the Skin, Wings are a few that I need to pick from.Any suggestions ..."
they are both on my TBR--and I have them from the library, I just can't get motivated to pick them up...
Lynda wrote: "I finished reading One More Bite by Jennifer Rardin. Definitely the best of the series so far. I will start Bite Marks tomorrow."I'm up to the 4th book in this series. I really liked the first one, but liked the second one less so, and the third one less than that. I hope that's not a real pattern!
I just finished Scorched and really liked it. Not as good as Ravenous but still a good read. I'm moving on to

"I haven't read anything by this author yet--is it another great series I've missed? ;-)
Mercy is much better than the Omega books, but that's not really fair to compare it. They are both GREAT series, but Mercy is so original and endearing, exciting, adventurous, it's one of the best UF series out there. So let's say, Mercy wasn't an option. Then think about the Omega books and see if you like them. The best series, IMO out there are:
The Mercy Series by Patricia Briggs
Women of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong
Rachel Morgan Series by Kim Harrison
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
okay well those are just some...I would go on for an hour if I listed all of them lol.
As for what I'm reading, I just finished Hands of Flame by C.E. Murphy yesterday and started on Blood Blade by Marcus Pelegrimas today.
