What are you reading? (Part 1)

LOL! I thought Anita was going to give him a makeover at some point, but I guess not. I really believed that Hamilton was making fun of Jean-Claude by giving him this terrible taste in fashion, and then eventually Anita would convince him that he needed to hire a stylist or something. Hmmm. I just read a scene in Burnt Offerings (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #7) where Anita was admiring the way he had straightened his hair and curled it under at the ends. Seriously? Ewww. That's creepy. Maybe I'm just imagining it wrong?

@ Melodie, the fact that James Marsters does the audiobook is why I read the first one. I didn't buy the audiobook then, but that was when everybody was hoping he's get the part for Harry in the tv series. For Fool Moon I got the audiobook!
I actually started reading

It is! I haven't read any wise-guy vampire themed novels before, and I'm finding, I like it.

That's very interesting. I've just posted to the Adrian Phoenix Yahoo group to see if anyone's got anymore information on it.

I figured someone might pick up the Blue Bloods rights, but it surprises me about the Maker's Song books! Who would make the perfect Dante???

If Disney bought the rights, then they will probably put that Zack kid from High School Musical in the role. LOL!

Please save us all from that torture... I'm not convinced Dante will be cast right, so this makes me quite nervous. I tend to prefer my books to stay in my head, as film adaptations as so rarely done well.

Next, I never know! I've got Bad Mother
Oryx and Crake
The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Lullaby for Morons ftom the library
and borrowed from a friend Mistress of the Art of Death
and just bought Blood Lite...

I thought BLOOD LITE was terribly disappointing. I read it last year, and there was very little in it that was really worth the trouble.

I just finished this book yesterday, and thought I thought it ended too abruptly, I really loved the new book in this series. Enjoy!

I've heard that this was the last in the Harper series.
I've heard that this was the last in the Harper series.

Also reading The Darkest Night by Gena Showalter. I read a book in her other series, Alien Huntress, and didn't even finish it because it was not good, in my opinion. After hearing many good things about her Lords of the Underworld series, I decided to give her one more chance. So far, I'm loving it! :)
Up next is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman on audiobook and On the Edge by Ilona Andrews.

I hope you like Darkfever, Susan! I really loved all of those books!
I'm enjoying Many Bloody Returns more than I though I would. I have really liked the majority of the short stories in this one!

Once Upon Stilletos (Katie Chandler #2).

I have that one on my list, but haven't started it. I'll keep you posted when I do.

I pretty much feel the same way. Plot's interesting, characters are good, love story is the same old, same old.

And currently reading

What are you thinking about Liar? I really enjoyed her Magic series...
This week I've read Graceling, which I loved, Lullaby for Morons, which is interesting, Bad Mother which was a good read.
Am about to start Glass.

I really like this series and think Lucas is a hottie!! The next one comes out in February, I think.

I loved both these books.Ilona Andrews and KMM are my top two authors. I think the audio on the fever series is fantastic.Did you hear that she has different actors reading the Dreamfever book ? I have it ordered, I hope it does not throw me off too much.

Lazuline and Melodie - I think I prefer Balthazar to Lucas. The storyline is interesting enough to make me want to read the next one. If nothing else, they are fast reads!

On a different note, I think I'm going to go ahead and return Blue Moon andObsidian Butterfly to the library. I just can't get into Anita Blake right now. I think the whole Jean-Claude dressing like something out of the Three Musketeers finally did me in.

I'll probably drag out

I love his Dresden Files series also!! I've read them all and they seem to just keep getting better as you go!"

The first Harry Dresden, STORM FRONT, was, IMHO, terrible! A friend insisted I give the series another chance and I am so glad I did as the books have just gotten better and better. And if you can listen to the audios, even STORM FRONT is better! James Marsters, who played Spike on Buffy, is the reader and he is perfect.
